    Leptophilic neutral Higgs bosons in two Higgs doublet model at a linear collider

    Full text link
    This paper addresses the question of observability of neutral Higgs bosons through the leptonic decay in a two Higgs doublet model (2HDM). Both scalar and pseudoscalar Higgs bosons (H, AH,~A) are considered. The model is set to type IV to enhance the leptonic decay. In such a scenario, a signal production process like e+e−→A0H0→ττμμe^+e^- \to A^0H^0 \to \tau\tau \mu\mu or μμττ\mu\mu\tau\tau would provide a clear signal on top of the background in a di-muon invariant mass distribution far from the ZZ boson pole mass. The analysis is based on a τ\tau-id algorithm which preselects events if they have two τ\tau jets by requiring a hadronic τ\tau decay. Several benchmark points are defined for the search, requiring a linear collider operating at s=\sqrt{s} = 0.5 and 1 TeV. It is shown that the signal can be observed on top of the background in all benchmark points at an integrated luminosity of 1000 fb−1fb^{-1}

    Possibility of tanbeta measurement in CMS at LHC

    Full text link
    The achievable tanbeta determination accuracy for CMS at LHC is presented. Using MSSM H/A->tau tau decay in the associated production process gg->bbH/A the event rates are measured at large tanbeta and the systematic and statistical errors are estimated. Due to sensitivity of the above event rates to tanbeta it is shown that it is possible to determine constraints on tanbeta for a given set of SUSY parameters and uncertainties.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, presented in the Rencontre de Moriond, QCD Conference 200

    Observability of Inert Scalars at the LHC

    Full text link
    In this work we investigate the observability of Inert Doublet Model scalars at the LHC operating at the center of mass energy of 14 TeV. The signal production process is pp→AH±→ZHW±Hpp \to AH^\pm \to ZHW^{\pm}H leading to two different final states of ℓ+ℓ−HjjH\ell^+\ell^-Hjj H and ℓ+ℓ−Hℓ±νH\ell^+\ell^-H\ell^\pm\nu H based on the hadronic and leptonic decay channels of the W boson. All the relevant background processes are considered and an event selection is designed to distinguish the signal from the large Standard Model background. We found that signals of the selected search channels are well observable at the LHC with integrated luminosity of 300 fb−1^{-1}.Comment: v2: 10 pages, 9 figures and 9 table

    Search for heavy neutral CP-even Higgs within Type-IV 2HDM at a future linear collider

    Full text link
    In this paper, the production process e−e+→AHe^- e^+ \rightarrow A H is analyzed in the context of the type IV 2HDM and the question of observability of a neutral CP-even Higgs boson HH at a linear collider operating at s=1\sqrt{s}=1 TeV is addressed. The CP-odd Higgs is assumed to experience a gauge-Higgs decay as A→ZHA\rightarrow ZH with hadronic decay of ZZ boson as the signature of signal events. The production chain is thus e+e−→AH→ZHH→jjℓℓℓℓe^+e^- \rightarrow AH \rightarrow ZHH \rightarrow jj\ell\ell\ell\ell where ℓ\ell is a τ\tau or μ\mu. Four benchmark points with different mass hypotheses are assumed for the analysis. The Higgs mass mHm_H is assumed to vary within the range 150-300 GeV in increments of 50 GeV. The anti-ktk_t algorithm is used to perform the jet reconstruction. Results indicate that the neutral CP-even Higgs HH is observable through this production mechanism using the di-muon invariant mass distribution with possibility of mass measurement. The corresponding signal significances exceed 5σ5\sigma at integrated luminosity of 3000 fb−1fb^{-1}.Comment: 23 pages, 18 figures, 10 table
