Hochaufloesende Resonanzionisationsspektroskopie an Samarium und Gadolinium

    No full text
Within this work spectroscopic studies of Gadolinium and Samarium by multi-step resonance ionization were carried out, significantly extending the application of RIMS in complex atomic systems. In Samarium isotope shift and hyperfine structure of the first resonant transition were investigated and in addition, long, undisturbed Rydberg series just below the first ionization limit were measured for the first time. For the strongest one the limit of convergence was determined and an isotope specific ionization energy of IP=45519.30793(43) cm-1 for "1"5"4Sm was derived. Due to their atomic properties Gadolinium and Samarium have a quite complex structure in the continuum characterised by very strong and narrow resonances. A systematic analysis of this structure based on existing as well as new data was part of this work. For a theoretical description of interfering autoionising states the applicability of the K-matrix-formalism, originally outlined for nuclear physics, was successfully demonstrated for different selected regions of both the Gadolinium and the Samarium autoionizing spectra. As a development step towards analytical RIMS application for bio-medical problems it was demonstrated in Gadolinium that necessary specifications can be fulfilled using pulsed lasers. This will significantly simplify further investigations in this field. Nukleon-Nukleon Korrelationen in "1"2C

    No full text
In this thesis at the three-spectrometer facility of the A1 collaboration at the Mainz microtron an electron scattering experiment for the study of short-range correlations in "1"2C was performed. Measured were cross sections of the reactions "1"2C(e,e'), "1"2C(e,e'p), and "1"2C(e,e'pp). The cross sections were compared with calculations based on models of the theoretical groups from Valencia and Gent.SIGLEAvailable from: http://archimed.uni-mainz.de/pub/2002/0136/diss.pdf / FIZ - Fachinformationszzentrum Karlsruhe / TIB - Technische InformationsbibliothekDEGerman
