Fundamental Limits of Low-Density Spreading NOMA with Fading
Spectral efficiency of low-density spreading non-orthogonal multiple access
channels in the presence of fading is derived for linear detection with
independent decoding as well as optimum decoding. The large system limit, where
both the number of users and number of signal dimensions grow with fixed ratio,
called load, is considered. In the case of optimum decoding, it is found that
low-density spreading underperforms dense spreading for all loads. Conversely,
linear detection is characterized by different behaviors in the underloaded vs.
overloaded regimes. In particular, it is shown that spectral efficiency changes
smoothly as load increases. However, in the overloaded regime, the spectral
efficiency of low- density spreading is higher than that of dense spreading
Evidence of secondary relaxations in the dielectric spectra of ionic liquids
We investigated the dynamics of a series of room temperature ionic liquids
based on the same 1-butyl-3-methyl imidazolium cation and different anions by
means of broadband dielectric spectroscopy covering 15 decades in frequency
(10^(-6)-10^9 Hz), and in the temperature range from 400 K down to 35 K. An
ionic conductivity is observed above the glass transition temperature T_{g}
with a relaxation in the electric modulus representation. Below T_{g}, two
relaxation processes appear, with the same features as the secondary
relaxations typically observed in molecular glasses. The activation energy of
the secondary processes and their dependence on the anion are different. The
slower process shows the characteristics of an intrinsic Johari-Goldstein
relaxation, in particular an activation energy E_{beta}=24k_{B}T_{g} is found,
as observed in molecular glasses.Comment: Major revision, submitted to Phys. Rev. Let
Co-Morbidity of Pituitary Adenoma and Frontal Convexity Meningioma: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
Instruction: The current study reports a woman with pituitary adenoma and frontal convexity meningioma that was detected accidentially. To the best of our knowledge, this case is considered as a rare clinical scenario.Case presentation: A 37 years old woman suffering from amenorrhea and galactorrhea had her detail investigation showed hyperprolactinemia. The patient was diagnosed with a prolactinoma, and a frontal convexity meningioma was discovered on MRI. The prolactinoma controlled with Bromocriptine therapy, while the meningioma monitored through medical observation. After two months of pharmaceutical medication, her symptoms improved with the decrease in serum prolactin. Conclusion: Thanks to sophisticated MRI techniques, meningioma and prolactinoma were incidentally detected. It should be noted that co-morbidity of prolactinoma and meningioma is very rare. The mechanism of the association between these two familiar types of intracranial tumors has not yet been clarified, which indicates the need for further studies to offer possible targeted treatment for patients.Keyword:Â Meningiomas; Prolactinomas; Pituitary adenomas

Delineation of the Native Basin in Continuum Models of Proteins
We propose two approaches for determining the native basins in off-lattice
models of proteins. The first of them is based on exploring the saddle points
on selected trajectories emerging from the native state. In the second
approach, the basin size can be determined by monitoring random distortions in
the shape of the protein around the native state. Both techniques yield the
similar results. As a byproduct, a simple method to determine the folding
temperature is obtained.Comment: REVTeX, 6 pages, 5 EPS figure
What is the Benefit of Code-domain NOMA in Massive MIMO?
In overloaded Massive MIMO systems, wherein the number K of user equipments
(UEs) exceeds the number of base station antennas M, it has recently been shown
that non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) can increase performance. This paper
aims at identifying cases of the classical operating regime K < M, where
code-domain NOMA can also improve the spectral efficiency of Massive MIMO.
Particular attention is given to use cases in which poor favorable propagation
conditions are experienced. Numerical results show that Massive MIMO with
planar antenna arrays can benefit from NOMA in practical scenarios where the
UEs are spatially close to each other.Comment: To appear at the 2019 IEEE International Symposium on Personal,

Short-term heat treatment of ti6al4v eli as implant material
Due to its mechanical properties and good biocompatibility, Ti6Al4V ELI (extra low interstitials) is widely used in medical technology, especially as material for implants. The specific microstructures that are approved for this purpose are listed in the standard ISO 20160:2006. Inductive short-term heat treatment is suitable for the adjustment of near-surface component properties such as residual stress conditions. A systematic evaluation of the Ti6Al4V microstructures resulting from short-term heat treatment is presently missing. In order to assess the parameter field that leads to suitable microstructures for load-bearing implants, dilatometer experiments have been conducted. For this purpose, dilatometer experiments with heating rates up to 1000 °C/s, holding times between 0.5 and 30 s and cooling rates of 100 and 1000 °C/s were systematically examined in the present study. Temperatures up to 950 °C and a holding time of 0.5 s led to microstructures, which are approved for medical applications according to the standard ISO 20160:2006. Below 950 °C, longer holding times can also be selected
