A STUDY OF INVESTORS’ PSYCHOLOGY WITH RESPECT TO MUTUAL FUNDS

    Get PDF
Mutual Funds today are one of the most studied areas in developed countries due to their efficient and effective role in reducing risk and enhancing return through professional management of funds. These funds boost the incomes of small investors as well as reduce their exposure to unsystematic risks which needs to be taken into consideration for accurate results. The funds have become extremely popular over the last 20 years. The same funds which were once an obscure instrument are now part of daily lives. Therefore, the main focus of this research paper is to identify the investors’ psychology towards investment decision in mutual funds. The sample size for the study was 200 investors in Pune (100 respondents) & Satara District in India (100 respondents)

Predictive Maintenance of Cash Dispenser Using a Cognitive Prioritization Model

    Get PDF
In this technical paper, we address the issue of predicting cash dispenser (addressed as ‘Device’ henceforth) failure by harnessing the power of humungous data from service history, logs, metrics, transactions, and plausible environmental factors. This study helps increase device availability, enhanced customer experience, manage risk & compliance and revenue growth. It also helps reduce maintenance cost, travel cost, labour cost, downtime, repair duration and increase meantime between failures (MTBF) of individual components. This study uses a cognitive prioritization model which entails the following at its core; a) Machine Learning engineered features with highest influence on machine failure, b) Observation Windows, Transition Windows and Prediction Windows to accommodate various business processes and service planning delivery windows, and c) A forward-looking evaluation of emerging patterns to determine failure prediction score that is prioritized by business impact, for a predefined time window in the future. The model not only predicts failure score for the devices to be serviced, but it also reduces the service miss impact for the prediction windows

Absorption and luminescence of hydrogen and oxygen passivated silicon quantum dots

    Get PDF
Silicon (Si) quantum dots (QDs) passivated with oxygen and hydrogen of size 1 nm in diameter are prepared by wet chemical route and electrochemical route respectively. The optical measurements reveal the strong absorption feature around 4.7 eV and weak absorption at 3.4 eV for oxygen passivated Si QDs. Hydrogen passivated Si QDs of the same size show absorption at 4.9 eV. Both the oxygen and hydrogen passivated Si QDs show broad luminescence around 3.9 and 3.8 eV. Films of these QDs, when coated on crystalline silicon solar cells, show an increase in the efficiency of the solar cell by 12 %. Trans-3,5-dihydroperoxy-3,5-dimethyl-1,2-dioxolane as a novel and efficient reagent for selective sulfoxidation of sulfides under catalyst-free condition

    Get PDF
Application of trans-3,5-dihydroperoxy-3,5-dimethyl-1,2-dioxolane as an efficient and high-oxygen content reagent in selective oxidation of sulfides into sulfoxides has been successfully explored. The reactions proceeded under mild and catalyst-free conditions in dichloromethane at room temperature to provide the sulfoxides in excellent yields without any significant over-oxidation to sulfones

Analysis of External Links of video using Association Rule Mining

    Get PDF
Now a days, to increase the popularity of video sharing site they provide a external link, so that their video or audio content can be embedded into external website. User can copy that URL of that embedded link & post on their own blog or website. In this paper our intension is to increase the popularity & measure the quantification. We provide the measurement & analysis on this external link. With the results collected from two major video sharing site like You tube & Youku we observed that these links have an various impact on popularity. Videos that have been uploaded for ten months in Youku, around 20% of views can come from external links. Next, we analyzed that correlation between internal & external link. Another observation is Youku has comparatively more impact than You tube. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.15026

Two photon absorption in Mn2+-doped ZnSe quantum dots

    Get PDF
The nonresonant third order nonlinear optical properties of three different sized Mn2+-doped ZnSe quantum dots (QDs) are investigated. The nonlinear absorption is measured at 532 nm using 35 picosecond laser pulses in an open-aperture Z-scan setup. Two photon absorption (2PA) cross-section in ZnSe QDs is found to be three orders of magnitude higher than its bulk value. These nanostructures show size dependent nonlinear absorption coefficients. It is found that the 2PA further enhances with decrease in size of the QD and is twice that of its undoped counterpart due to change in the local electric field

Comparison of the force deterioration of different orthodontic elastomeric materials in artificial saliva: An in vitro study

The orthodontist must be able to choose an elastic band with force-extension characteristics that are most suitable for the particular tooth movement required. From a clinician view it would be mandatory not only to know the clinical aspect of these elastics but also their basic properties, in order to extract the most out of these polymers. Stretching of elastics are thought to be the primary cause of force degradation of orthodontic elastics but there is evidence of increased force degradation of elastics when exposed to various types of substances like artificial saliva, phosphoric acid and citric acid. Orthodontic elastics have received mixed reactions of practitioners as reported by the vendors of orthodontic supplies. The present study is designed to compare the force deterioration of different orthodontic elastomeric materials in artificial saliva medium. There was a force deterioration over time in all materials, being greatest on the seventh day of the experiment, especially more in the chains; From the third to the fourth week there was no noticeable force degradation in either group; By the end of the experiment, modules showed less deterioration of the force compared to the chains and threads

ANTIFUNGAL APPRAISAL OF BURKHOLDERIA GLADIOLI STRAIN VIMP03 (JQ867372) AGAINST CERATOCYSTIS PARADOXA

    Get PDF
ABSTRACTObjective: The purpose of the present investigation was to assess antifungal characterization of Burkholderia gladioli strain VIMP03 (JQ867372), anisolate from sugar beet rhizosphere. Methods: Antifungal characterization was carried out by biochemical, dual culture, and agar well diffusion methods against Ceratocystis paradoxa, asoilborne pathogen of sugarcane and other crops. Culture filtrate and ethyl acetate extract obtained from culture supernatant were analyzed by highperformanceliquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analyses, respectively. Results: The culture filtrate and ethyl acetate extract exhibited effective antifungal activity. Organic acid profile of the culture filtrate was determined.Acetic acid was mainly produced by the culture under study. The GC-MS analysis of ethyl acetate extract documented the presence of compoundsincluding tetratetracontane, 9-nonadecene, erucic acid, and other hydrocarbon derivatives. Conclusion: The GC-MS, HPLC, and biochemical profiles of B. gladioli strain VIMP03 (JQ867372) revealed its agro clinical-antifungal potential. Keywords: Antifungal, Burkholderia gladioli, High-performance liquid chromatography, Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry

Two-photon absorption in ZnSe and ZnSe/ZnS core/shell quantum structures

    Get PDF
The third order nonlinear optical properties of two different sized ZnSe and ZnSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) are investigated. The nonlinear absorption is measured at 806 nm using Ti:sapphire 100 fs laser pulses in an open aperture Z-scan setup. Two-photon absorption (2PA) is found to be dominant in core and core shell QDs. 2PA cross section is enhanced by three orders of magnitude compared bulk ZnSe. 2PA cross section is observed to increase with reduction in QD diameter, due to strong confinement effect. ZnSe/ZnS QDs exhibit higher 2PA cross section compared with corresponding ZnSe QDs, indicating better passivation of the QD surface
