Extrinsic and Intrinsic Aspirations of students of Divine Word Colleges in Ilocos Region, Philippines and their Academic performance
The study wants to determine the relationship between extrinsic and intrinsic motivation and academic performanceInternational audienceThe study wanted to determine the relationship between extrinsic and intrinsic aspirations of students of Divine Word Colleges in Ilocos Region and their academic performance as measured by self-reported general average grades. To support the theory, related literature and studies were reviewed and proper research methodology was applied. The population of the study was Grade XII Senior High School students of Divine Word Colleges in Ilocos Region and total enumeration of sampling design was used. The study applied descriptive correlational research design and aided by fact finding inquiry. The variables of the study and the questionnaires are validated variables and validated questionnaires of Self-Determination Theory of Kasser and Ryan (2000). The weighted mean was used to determine the level of extrinsic and intrinsic aspirations and Pearson (r), or the Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to determine the relationship between extrinsic and intrinsic and academic performance. The study found that students have moderate level of extrinsic aspirations but very high level of intrinsic motivation. Further, the study concluded that there is no correlation between extrinsic aspirations and academic performance but there is extensive correlation between intrinsic aspirations and academic performance. Measuring Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction and Frustration and Work Engagement of Employees of Divine Word Colleges in Ilocos Region, Philippines
International audienceThe study wants to determine the effect of basic psychological need satisfaction and basic psychological need frustration toward work engagement of employees of Divine Word Colleges in Ilocos Region, Philippines. In order to support the study, theories were presented which are supported by related literatures and studies. The population of the study were 250 or all employees of the colleges. The study used descriptive correlational research design aided by fact finding inquiry. Questionnaires were used to gather the data. The result revealed that there is a correlation between basic psychological need satisfaction and work engagement. While, basic psychological need frustration, as a whole, does not correlate to the engagement, except relatedness need frustration
Measuring Entrepreneurial Knowledge and Entrepreneurial Intention of ABM Grade XII, Senior High School Students of Divine Word Colleges in Region I, Philippines
The study wants to determine the relationship between entrepreneurial knowledge and entrepreneurial intentionInternational audienceThe aim of this study is to determine the entrepreneurial knowledge of Grade XII ABM students and their entrepreneurial intentions. The study uses quantitative descriptive research design and explanation research to describe and explain the entrepreneurial knowledge and intentions. In order to gather the data, sets of questionnaires were made and distributed to the 162 respondents, the total number of grade XII ABM students of the three schools. Pearson r was used to determine the correlation between the two variables. The study found that the entrepreneurial knowledge and entrepreneurial intention of the students are high and it is also found that there is a significant correlation between entrepreneurial knowledge and entrepreneurial intentions of the students

The findings reveal that as a whole entrepreneurial attitude of students is high and their entrepreneurial intention is also high. Measuring Environmental Attitude and Environmental Behavior of Senior High School Students of Divine Word Colleges in Region I, Philippines
International audienceThe study was motivated by the realities of climate change and its effect on the human life. The study argues that environmental problems are caused by human attitude toward environment and such attitude affects environmental behavior. In order to support such theory, the literature and studies were reviewed. The data gathered through questionnaires and 400 students were given the questionnaires. The descriptive correlational study was utilized to determine the extent of the correlation between environmental attitude and environmental behavior of the Senior High School Students of Divine Word Colleges in Region I, Philippines. The study revealed that anthropocentric attitude and eco-centric attitude were found to be dominant among students. However, the correlation was found only between eco-centric attitude and environmental behavior along environmental movement activism and personal conservation behavior, while anthropocentric and human dominance over nature attitude do not correlate to the environmental behavior. People have seen the connection between the environmental disaster and quality of human life. Quality of life has been affected by climate change. EPA (2016) mentions several impacts of climate change such as the increase of warming temperatures, changes in precipitation, and increases in the frequency of extreme weather events and the rising of sea levels. As a result, these affect the food that we eat, water we drink, the air we breathe, and the weather we experience. WHO (2016) estimated and predicted that between 2030 and 2050, the climate change is expected to cause approximately 250,000 additional deaths per year from malnutrition, diarrhea and heat stress.
