    College Students' Cognitive and Affective Attitude toward Higher Education and Their Academic Engagement

    The study wants to determine the relationship between cognitive attitude and affective attitude toward higher education and academic engagementInternational audienceThe study was intended to determine the college students' cognitive and affective attitude toward higher education and how it affects their academic engagement. In order to proceed with the study, theories on human attitude and human behaviour and academic engagement were discussed. Related literatures were reviewed to strengthen the theory of the study and the validated questionnaires were used to gather the data. The study used descriptive correlational research design and supplied by inquiries. To interpret the data, the statistical tools were used such as Mean and Pearson r. Mean was used to measure the cognitive and affective attitude of students toward education and their academic engagement. Pearson r was used to determine the relationship between cognitive and affective attitude of students toward higher education and academic engagement. The study found that students' cognitive and affective attitude toward higher education correlates significantly to the academic engagement.     Gender Differences in Work Motivation of Public Basic Education in Metro Vigan and Caoayan, Philippines and Job Satisfaction

    International audienceThe study wanted to determine the differences in work motivation and job satisfaction of male and female teachers and to determine the relationship between work motivation and job satisfaction. To carry out such purpose, related literatures and studies were reviewed to support the theory of the study and proper methodology was followed. The study used descriptive correlational method of research design and aided by fact finding inquiry. The population of the study were 263 teachers. of basic public schools of Metro Vigan and Caoayan. Questionnaires were used to gather the data and to treat the data statistically, mean, t-test and Pearson r were used. Mean was to measure the level of motivation and job satisfaction and t-test was used to measure the difference and Pearson r was used to determine the correlation. The study found that work motivation and job satisfaction of basic public schools in Metro Vigan and Caoayan is very high and there was no correlation between work motivation of both gender and job satisfaction. It also found that there was no difference between job satisfaction of male and female teachers and as whole, there was no difference between work motivation of both genders but taking it singly, there was a difference between work motivation of both genders in terms of integrated regulation

    International audienceThe study wanted to determine the relationship between organizational politics and job satisfaction of employees of Divine Word Colleges in Ilocos Region. The study used descriptive research design and aided by fact finding inquiry. The population of the study are the employees of the Divine Word Colleges in Ilocos region, Philippines and since the number of employees were limited, therefore, total enumeration method of sampling was used. Questionnaires were utilized to gather the data and weighted mean was used to determine the level of perception of employees of the existence of organizational politics and job satisfaction. Pearson r was used to determine the relationship between the two variables, between organizational politics and job satisfaction. The finding revealed that employees somewhat agree to the existence of organizational politics of Divine Word Colleges in Ilocos region but as a whole, there is no correlation between organizational politics and job satisfaction of employees. However, taking it singly, there is a correlation between organizational politics in terms of blaming others and job satisfaction

    The study aimed to determine the difference in entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward business, the business intention between ABM grade XII and the fourth-year college students of business management course. It also seeks to find out the effect of entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward the business behavioral intention. The study found that entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward business, and business intention of students are high and it further found that there is no significant difference between entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward business, the business intention of ABM grade XII students, and the fourth – year college students of business management course. Thus, the hypothesis is rejected. It also found that there is a significant correlation between entrepreneurial values, cognitive attitude toward the business, and business behavioral intention. Therefore, the hypothesis is accepted

    The study aimed to determine the organizational citizenship behaviour, work performance and work environment; the correlation between organizational citizenship behaviour and work performance; the correlation between work environment and organizational citizenship behaviour and work performance. Theories were discussed based on the literature and a conceptual framework was established. The study used the descriptive correlational research design and questionnaires were used to gather the data. The population of the study was all employees of the Divine Word Colleges in the Ilocos region, a total of 181 employees. The study found that organizational citizenship, the work performance of employees and the work environment is high and there is a significant correlation between organizational citizenship behaviour and work performance and there is a correlation between work environment and organizational citizenship behaviour and work performance. Therefore, the hypothesis of the study is accepted

    International audienceThe study wants to determine the relationship between the cognitive and affective attitudes of teachers toward research and their intention to conduct research. To support and strengthen the study, theories on human attitude, human behavior, the relationship between attitude and behavior, the nature of academic research and related studies were discussed. The study used descriptive correlational method of research design and aided by fact finding inquiry. The population of the study were 150 teachers of Divine Word Colleges in Ilocos Region. Validated questionnaires were used to gather the data and to treat the data statistically, mean, and Pearson r were used. Mean was to measure the level of cognitive and affective attitude of teachers toward research and their behavioral intention to conduct research in the future and Pearson r was used to determine the correlation between cognitive and affective attitude toward research and intention to conduct research. The study found that teachers have high attitudes on positive cognition and affection toward research and moderate level on negative cognition and negative affection toward research. Both, cognitive and affective attitude toward research (positive and negative components) correlates to the behavioral intention to conduct research. Thus, the study recommends to strengthen cognitive and affective attitude toward research and minimize their negative attitude toward research through continuous training on research methodology. To support the objective of the study, theories along human attitude and human behaviour, the concept of academic research were reviewed and studies in line with the current study was also reviewed. The study uses descriptive correlational and quantitative study. The population of the study was all Master in Business Administration students of Divine Word Colleges in Ilocos Region. The data were gathered through validated questionnaires. To interpret the data, the statistical tools were used such as weighted mean was applied to determine the level of cognitive and affective attitude of students and their behavioural intention to conduct research. While Pearson r was used to determine the relationship between cognitive and affective attitude and behavioural intention to conduct research. The study found that there is a correlation between cognitive and affective attitude, both positive and negative attitude, toward research and the intention to conduct research. To deepen the understanding of the concept of corporate governance and work performance, literature was reviewed. The study used a descriptive assessment and correlational research design and the population of the study was all employees of the Divine Word College of Laoag, Ilocos Norte. Questionnaires were used to gather the data. The study found that the corporate governance of the institution is considered high and the work performance is moderate. However, the Pearson r product moment analysis found that there is a significant correlation between corporate governance and the individual work performance of employees

    The study wanted to determine the correlation between the exercise of leadership skills of administrators of Divine Word Colleges in the Ilocos Region and the work engagement of employees. To support the study, related literature was reviewed to establish the theoretical foundation of the study. The study used a descriptive assessment and correlational research design. To gather the data, the validated questionnaires were used and weighted mean and Pearson r or Product-Moment Correlation were used to interpret the data. Weighted mean was used to determine the level of leadership skills of administrators and Pearson r was used to determine the correlation between leadership skill and work engagement of employees.
