    Marital Disharmony: Causes and resolution strategies in Enugu State of Nigeria

    This study investigated the causes of marital disharmony and resolution strategies for resolving marital disharmony among couples in Enugu State. Two research questions and one hypothesis were formulated to guide the study. Descriptive survey design was used. The sample for this study comprises 300 (150 literate and 150 non-literate) couples drawn through multi-stage random sampling from a population of 646,311 married people. Structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The research questions were analyzed using mean scores and hypothesis tested with t-test statistics. The findings revealed among others, infertility, lack of trust, sexual deprivation, early marriage, finance, communication gap, infidelity as the causes of marital disharmony. Avoiding the idle mind by engaging in hard work, use of family counsellors, listening carefully to spouse, developing a positive attitude towards disharmony, communicating feelings of love, admiration, likes and dislikes, are resolution strategies for resolving marital disharmony. However, there is no significant difference in the perception of literate and non-literate couples about the extent of the use of resolution strategies in resolving marital disharmony.     Examination Malpractice and Control in Public Secondary Schools in Anambra State, Nigeria: Implications for the Counsellor

    This study set out to investigate examination malpractice and control among secondary school students in Anambra state, Nigeria. One thousand, five hundred (1,500) respondents were drawn from the population of staff and students using a multi-stage sampling procedure. Three research questions and one hypothesis guided the study. A 36 item structured questionnaire was used to collect data for the study. Data were analysed using mean and ā€˜tā€™ test statistics. The result shows that both teachers and students have knowledge of what examination malpractice is all about and possible ways of curbing it.     Coping Strategies of Teenagers with Bereavement of Parent in Nnewi, Anambra State Nigeria

    This study focused on how teenagers cope socially with bereavement of parent. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. The design used was descriptive survey. A sample of 393 (155 males and 238 females) aged between 12-19 years was selected purposively from Secondary Schools in Nnewi Education Zone of Anambra State, Nigeria. The researchers designed questionnaire ā€œCoping with bereavement of parent by teenagers (CBPT)ā€ was validated and used for collecting data. The data was analyzed using mean, standard deviation and t-test. Some social coping strategies such as were identified. Age and gender did not make any significant difference in the teenagersā€™ choice of coping strategies. It was recommended that school counsellors expose bereaved teenagers to different strategies of coping socially with bereavement of parent.     Choice of Behaviour Management Techniques amongst Primary School Teachers: Implications for Counselling and Teacher Preparation

    The study investigated the choice of behaviour management techniques amongst primary school teachers. Three research questions and three null hypotheses guided the study.Ā  A structured questionnaire was developed and used to elicit information from 163 primary school teachers in the Obollo-Afor Education zone of Enugu State.Ā  Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions.Ā  t-testĀ  statistics was used to test the first hypothesis while Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to analyse the second and third hypotheses. Findings of the study revealed the behaviour management techniques used by practicing teachers in the zone and showed that there is a significant difference in the teacherā€™s choice of these techniques due to teachers gender, educational qualification and age.
