Quantum sensing of rotation velocity based on transverse field Ising model
We study a transverse-field Ising model (TFIM) in a rotational reference
frame. We find that the effective Hamiltonian of the TFIM of this system
depends on the system's rotation velocity. Since the rotation contributes an
additional transverse field, the dynamics of TFIM sensitively responses to the
rotation velocity at the critical point of quantum phase transition. This
observation means that the TFIM can be used for quantum sensing of rotation
velocity that can sensitively detect rotation velocity of the total system at
the critical point. It is found that the resolution of the quantum sensing
scheme we proposed is characterized by the half-width of Loschmidt echo of the
dynamics of TFIM when it couples to a quantum system S. And the resolution of
this quantum sensing scheme is proportional to the coupling strength \delta
between the quantum system S and the TFIM, and to the square root of the number
of spins N belonging the TFIM.Comment: 6 pages,6 figure
Determination of and Extraction of from Semileptonic Decays
By globally analyzing all existing measured branching fractions and partial
rates in different four momentum transfer-squared bins of decays, we obtain the product of the form factor and magnitude of
CKM matrix element to be . With this
product, we determine the semileptonic form factor
in conjunction with the value of
determined from the SM global fit. Alternately, with the product together with
the input of the form factor calculated in lattice QCD recently, we
extract , where the error is
still dominated by the uncertainty of the form factor calculated in lattice
QCD. Combining the
extracted from all existing measurements of decays and
together, we find the most
precisely determined to be , which improves
the accuracy of the PDG'2014 value by
Anisotropy of Resonant Inelastic X-Ray Scattering at the K Edge of Si:Theoretical Analysis
We investigate theoretically the resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS)
at the edge of Si on the basis of an ab initio calculation. We calculate
the RIXS spectra with systematically varying transfered-momenta,
incident-photon energy and incident-photon polarization. We confirm the
anisotropy of the experimental spectra by Y. Ma {\it et al}. (Phys. Rev. Lett.
74, 478 (1995)), providing a quantitative explanation of the spectra.Comment: 18 pages, 11 figure
Study of Light Scalar Meson Structure in decay
We study the quark structure of the sigma meson through the decay of
meson by constructing an effective Lagrangian for charmed mesons
interacting with light mesons based on the chiral symmetry and heavy quark
symmetry. Within the linear realization of the chiral symmetry, we include the
P-wave charmed mesons (, ) as the chiral partners of
(, ), and the light scalar mesons as the chiral partner of the
pseudoscalar mesons. In the light meson sector, both the and
states are incorporated respecting their different U(1)
transformation properties. We predict the decay width with
two pions in the channel, which can be tested in the future
experiment. We find that the width increases with the percentage of the
content in the sigma meson.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, Contribution to KMI Inauguration Conference

Candidate chiral doublet bands in the odd-odd nucleus Cs
The candidate chiral doublet bands recently observed in Cs have been
extended to higher spins, several new linking transitions between the two
partner members of the chiral doublet bands are observed, and
intensities related to the chiral doublet bands are presented by
analyzing the coincidence data collected earlier at the
NORDBALL through the CdN, 4nCs reaction at a beam
energy of 65 MeV. The intraband and interband
ratios and the energy staggering parameter, S(I), have
been deduced for these doublet bands. The results are found to be consistent
with the chiral interpretation for the two structures. Furthermore, the
observation of chiral doublet bands in Cs together with those in
Cs, Cs, Cs and Cs also indicates that the
chiral conditions do not change rapidly with decreasing neutron number in these
odd-odd Cesium isotopes
The effect of asymmetry of the coil block on self-assembly in ABC coil-rod-coil triblock copolymers
Using the self-consistent field approach, the effect of asymmetry of the coil
block on the microphase separation is focused in ABC coil-rod-coil triblock
copolymers. For different fractions of the rod block , some stable
structures are observed, i.e., lamellae, cylinders, gyroid, and core-shell
hexagonal lattice, and the phase diagrams are constructed. The calculated
results show that the effect of the coil block fraction is
dependent on . When , the effect of asymmetry of
the coil block is similar to that of the ABC flexible triblock copolymers; When
, the self-assembly of ABC coil-rod-coil triblock copolymers
behaves like rod-coil diblock copolymers under some condition. When continues to increase, the effect of asymmetry of the coil block reduces.
For , under the symmetrical and rather asymmetrical
conditions, an increase in the interaction parameter between different
components leads to different transitions between cylinders and lamellae. The
results indicate some remarkable effect of the chain architecture on
self-assembly, and can provide the guidance for the design and synthesis of
copolymer materials.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figure
