3D STRUCTURE ANALYSIS: ARCHITECTURE AS AN EXPRESSION OF THE TIES BETWEEN GEOMETRY AND PHILOSOPHY

Abstract. In recent decades many Geomatics-based methods have been created to reconstruct and visualize objects, and these include digital photogrammetry, Lidar, remote sensing and hybrid techniques. The methods used to process such data are the result of research straddling the fields of Geomatics and Computer Vision, and employ techniques arising from approaches of analytical, geometric and statistical nature. One of the most fascinating fields of application concerns Architecture, which, moreover, has always depended on Mathematics generally and, more specifically, on Geometry. Throughout history the link between Geometry and Architecture has been strong and while architects have used mathematics to construct their buildings, geometry has always been the essential tool allowing them to choose spatial shapes which are aesthetically appropriate. Historically, mathematics and philosophy have been interrelated; many philosophers of the past were also mathematicians. The link between Philosophy and Architecture is twofold: on the one hand, philosophers have discussed what architecture is, on the other, philosophy has contributed to the development of architecture. We will deal with the ties between Architecture, Geometry and Philosophy over the centuries. Although there are artistic suggestions that go beyond time and space, and there are genial precursors, we can identify, in principle, some epochs: the ancient era, the modern era, and finally the contemporary epoch, from the crisis of positivistic sciences to globalisation.</p

Modificações ambientais causadas pela implantação de Sistemas Agroflorestais em Áreas de Preservação Permanente: marco zero.

Sistemas agroflorestais (SAF) são alternativa para recuperação de Áreas de Preservação Permanente, mantendo-se a área produtiva do ponto de vista ecológico e agrícola. Está sendo feito um estudo, sob princípios da pesquisa-ação participativa, para acompanhamento e avaliação da evolução de SAF sucessionais na APA da Serra da Esperança e caracterização do efeito dos mesmos sobre o ecossistema, bem como sua inserção nos sistemas de produção locais. O objetivo deste trabalho é caracterizar as parcelas anteriormente à implantação dos SAF. Em cada parcela de estudo, em três propriedades de agricultores familiares de Inácio Martins/PR, Brasil, fez-se análises química e física do solo e levantamento florístico. Os solos apresentam baixa fertilidade natural e elevada acidez. O conteúdo de matéria orgânica é elevado e a estrutura apresenta excelentes condições. As parcelas experimentais tem semelhanças quanto à vegetação, entretanto há diferenças em função das práticas agrícolas associadas.Edição dos resumos do 7º Congresso Brasileiro de Agroecologia, 2013, Porto Alegre

Planejamento de um sistema agroflorestal multiestrata para recomposição de floresta ciliar no Paraná.

Uma forma de produção adequada à agricultura familiar é a agrossilvicultura, através da execução de um sistema agroflorestal (SAF), aliando a recuperação de áreas com a produção de bens de consumo e alimentos. Na região da Floresta Ombrófila Mista existe uma lacuna de conhecimento na seleção e utilização de espécies adaptadas. Com o intuito de testar espécies que se adaptem às condições de cultivo local e colaborem tanto para a recuperação ambiental de ecossistemas ripários, quanto permitam a utilização futura através de um manejo de baixo impacto, planejou-se o sistema agroflorestal que será descrito nesse trabalho. O sistema agroflorestal foi implantado no município de Palmeira, Microrregião Geográfica Ponta Grossa ? PR, em uma propriedade com necessidade de adequação ambiental, para a recomposição de 1000 m² de área de preservação permanente (APP), onde anteriormente haviam sido implantados cultivos agrícolas. Para a escolha das espécies também levou-se em consideração a exigência de implantação de 50% de espécies pioneiras na área. Na área do plantio que é uma região de APP com 1000 m², foram implantadas 1250 mudas, com espaçamento de 2m x 2m, contendo 5 linhas de 500 m. Foi possível a configuração de um arranjo agroflorestal multiestrata que comporte 15 espécies nativas diferentes, com potencial de fornecer produtos madeireiros e não madeireiros e ainda cumprir com as funções ambientais da área de proteção permanente

Il sistema T.Arc.H.N.A. : per una nuova accessibilit\ue0 al patrimonio culturale

This paper presents the preliminary results of the Project T.Arc.H.N.A., Towards Archaeological Heritage New Accessibility, partially funded by the European Union, as part of the Culture 2000 Programme. Tarchna is the Etruscan name of the ancient city of Tarquinia and T.Arc.H.N.A. the name of a model of virtual Museum. Thanks to the use of modern technology, combined with a deep knowledge of history and archaeology, it has been possible to create a tool useful for both scholars and the wider public, which is also available for other situations. Through the cooperation of experts from two different fields \u2013 Computer Science and Archaeology \u2013 an innovative system of accessibility to the Cultural Heritage in the field of research, education and dissemination has been designed and implemented. One of the first results of the project is the restoration of the original unity of the Tarquinian Heritage much of which is scattered all over the world, lacking in contexts and anthropological meanings. Scholars are thus enabled to deal with this Cultural Heritage as a whole and to bring the single document from the environment that produced it, to the environment of the modern user, thus filling the gap between the document and its interpretation. In this way the public can learn the main features of the Etruscan culture and comprehend the research of scholars
