    Get PDF
This paper provides an introduction to intelligent compaction for road construction and was developed as a resource for new users interested in understanding some of the applications and benefits of implementing this technology. Any agencies are into this business faced with the same challenges of reduced staff and having fewer people on site so more time and effort that is required for some of the quality assurance testing. It’s just not available anymore, for that we need to find ways to accomplish with less staff time and may be the greater coverage of area because there is less number of knowledgeable people to do the inspection. One of our main aims to evolve away from the nuclear density gauges. We think that the natural evolvement for that would be the Intelligent Compaction Analyzer System

    Get PDF
As the need for missiles and rockets has increased exponentially, the challenges associated with the gas dynamics of these vehicles continues to be a concern. The pressure in the downstream is sub atmospheric whenever there is a sudden expansion. This low pressure in the recirculation zone causes significant drag, accounting for almost two-thirds of the net drag of the aerospace vehicles. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to deliver a Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) analysis of the impact geometry and flow parameters have on the thrust force generated by the flow from convergent divergent nozzles to a suddenly expanded circular duct with a wider cross-sectional area. By observing all of the results, it is possible to conclude that the flow field in an enlarged duct is greatly influenced by the area ratio

Storage space requests in healing centers are continuously expanding the compression of recorded medical images. In Medicine Field Medical imaging has an awesome effect on medication, particularly in the fields of analysis and surgical planning. In most cases doctors may not bear the cost of any deficiency in diagnostically important region of images, called regions of interest(ROI). A methodology that carries a high compression rate with great quality in the ROI. This paper exhibits a methodology for a medicinal image compression algorithm. Embedded zerotree wavelet (EZW) coding, presented by J. M. Shapiro, is an extremely powerful and computationally straightforward procedure for image compression. Set-partitioning in hierarchical trees (SPIHT) is a broadly utilized compression algorithm for wavelet-transformed images which gives better execution. These two strategies are used to compress ROI region. In this paper we compress images utilizing EZW and SPIHT algorithms. The point is to build the compression ratio and to get great quality in region of interest. Experimental result demonstrates that SPIHT method has better performance. Farming is one of the most important lifelines of the country. A nation’s growth majorly depends on how advanced and effective their agricultural practices are in improving the crop yield. When a crop is grown many at times, farmers are unable to identify the health and wellbeing of the plant; they only recognize the problems when it becomes too late hence losing out on that year's expected yield. In this study, we have introduced a recognition and classification technique which is able to detect any ailments that the plant is suffering from at an early stage itself thus enabling the farmers to do the needful at a recoverable stage itself. To make the system as user-friendly as possible, we have provided a feature where the farmers are able to assess the health of the plant by providing a picture of the potato plants’ leaf

The reduction of Earth-to-orbit launch costs in conjunction with an increase in launcher reliability and operational Efficiency is the key demands on future space transportation systems, like single-stage-to-orbit vehicles (SSTO). The realization of these vehicles strongly depends on the performance of the engines, which should deliver high performance with low system complexity. Performance data for rocket engines are practically always lower than the theoretically attainable values because of imperfections in the mixing, combustion, and expansion of the propellants. The main part of the project addresses different nozzle concepts with improvements in performance as compared to conventional nozzles achieved by Different Mach numbers, thus, by minimizing losses caused by over- or under expansion. The design of different nozzle shapes and flow simulation is done in gambit and fluent software’s respectively for various parameter

Contrasting seed biology of two ornamental palms: Pygmy Date Palm (Phoenix roebelenii O’Brien) and Fishtail Palm (Caryota urens L.) and implications for their long-term conservation

477-484The Arecaceae family includes palm trees of economic importance both as a source of agricultural produce and as ornamental components in landscaping projects. Pygmy date palm (Phoenix roebelenii) and solitary fishtail palm (Caryota urens) are well known landscaping plants today. Both species have their origin in Southeast Asia and, especially C. urens is widespread in peninsular India and Sri Lanka. They are multipurpose species with a variety of applications and thus very heavily utilized. Knowledge of palm seed storage biology will improve their conservation prospects. In present studies, fresh seed moisture content in P. roebelenii was recorded to be 30% with germinability of 98%. After desiccation to 8% moisture germinability was reduced to 90% and the seeds survived cryo-exposure. Fresh seeds of C. urens, with initial moisture content of 34% and 95% germinability could be desiccated to lowest level of only 29% moisture content, with complete loss of germinability. Fresh as well as desiccated seeds of this species did not survive cryo-exposure. While the seeds of C. urens stored at room temperature lost their germinability by 110 days, seeds of P. roebelenii could germinate even after 9 months of storage. P. roebelenii is proven to exhibit orthodox seed storage behaviour while C. urens is found to exhibit recalcitrant seed storage behaviour. Long-term ex situ cryo-conservation in the form of seed gene banks would be suitable for seed propagated orthodox palm species and a few germplasm centres may be established for recalcitrant Indian palms in suitable bio-geographic regions as a complimentary ex situ conservation

Recognizing the event of clog in a mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) is a noteworthy undertaking. The inbuilt clog control systems of existing transmission control protocol (TCP) intended for wired systems don't deal with the interesting properties of shared remote multi-bounce interface. There are a few methodologies proposed for identifying and defeating the clog in the portable specially appointed system. The sender conduct is modified fittingly. The proposed strategy is likewise good with standard TCP

Mung bean (Vigna radiata) is one of the important crops of the North Eastern Region of India. In the present study, acid phosphatase enzyme was isolated and partially purified from germinated local mung bean seeds. The sequential partial purification process was performed using ammonium sulphate precipitation method. The crude enzyme having a specific activity of 0.50 U/mg was purified using 30 to 70% ammonium sulphate precipitation method. The acid phosphatase was purified by 2.6 fold with a yield of 58.9% and specific activity of 1.3 U/mg. One prominent band was obtained on sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophresis (SDS-PAGE) which confirmed the purity of the enzyme. Molecular weight of the enzyme was estimated as 34.5 kDa. The enzyme activity was measured at different incubation time, pH, temperature and substrate concentration. The activity increased slowly from 10 to 70 min of incubation. The maximum activity was obtained at 70 min, thereafter the activity decreased gradually. The enzyme was found to be active over a wide range of temperature (30 to 80°C) and maximum activity was observed at 70°C. The optimal pH value of the enzyme activity was found to be 5.2. There was a corresponding increase in the rate of reaction with the increase in the substrate concentration from 0.1 to 0.8 mM and a linear relationship was obtained at 2 to 8 mM. Both Km and Vmax value were calculated as 0.416 mM and 1.33 µmoles/min, respectively.Key words: Acid phosphatase, mung bean, Vigna radiata, enzyme purification, enzyme characterization
