Polymeric compositions and their method of manufacture
Filled polymer compositions are made by dissolving the polymer binder in a suitable sublimable solvent, mixing the filler material with the polymer and its solvent, freezing the resultant mixture, and subliming the frozen solvent from the mixture from which it is then removed. The remaining composition is suitable for conventional processing such as compression molding or extruding. A particular feature of the method of manufacture is pouring the mixed solution slowly in a continuous stream into a cryogenic bath wherein frozen particles of the mixture result. The frozen individual particles are then subjected to the sublimation

How Do Quantitative And Qualitative Factors Influence The Selection Of Comparable, Competitive, And Aspirant Groups Under The Proposed AACSB Accreditation Maintenance Process?
The AACSB Blue Ribbon Committee on Accreditation Quality was “formed to do a thorough review of AACSB International's accreditation standards and procedures and to propose changes appropriate for global quality leadership in the next decade...” Within the proposal from the Blue Ribbon Committee is a change from a reaffirmation process with a site visit every ten years to a maintenance program resulting in a team visit in the sixth year of the cycle. Under the old standards applicants were required to submit “to the appropriate accreditation committee chair, in care of the AACSB International office, five nominations for each team role; i.e., five names for chair, five names for advisor, five for member, and if accounting accreditation were applicable, five names for vice-chair and five names for accounting advisor.” The proposed standards include a team selection process whereby the “applicant submits three comparison groups selected from members of the Accreditation Council... AACSB International will develop an on-line system to assist the applicant to identify potential comparison schools, officially select schools for each comparison group, and continuously maintain comparison group listings in an AACSB International database. Some information is currently available. The on-line service, www.aacsb.edu/knowledgeservices, offers advanced search functions that produce institution lists based on optionally selected criteria.” This AACSB provided information as well as information from other sources constitutes the basis for the recommended comparison group selection process

Zur Erhöhung der Photonenenergie von Synchrotronstrahlungsquellen wird die Verwendung von starken nichtlinearen Magneten in Betracht gezogen. Solche Magnete können einen starken Einfluß auf die Funktion von Speicherringen ausüben, da sie die Emittanz vergrößern und die dynamische Apertur verringern können. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird eine Methode vorgestellt, mit deren Hilfe der Einfluß der nichtlinearen Felder auf die dynamische Apertur berechnet werden kann. Mit dieser Methode wird die mögliche Auswirkung eines als Wellenlängenschieber eingesetzten kommerziellen 12 T Split-pair Solenoiden auf die dynamische Apertur der zukünftigen Synchrotronstrahlungsquelle ANKA untersucht
Relationship of Visual and Quantitative Methods of Grass Sward Development
The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between visual and quantitative estimates of the morphological development of perennial grass swards. Pure stands of intermediate wheatgrass [Thinopyrum intermedium (Host) Barkw. & D.R. Dewey] and switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) were hand-clipped to ground level at 2-wk intervals in 1991 at Mead, NE, morphologically classified as mean stage count (MSC), and visually estimated for sward development. Visual estimations of sward development for both species were representative of quantitative measurements during vegetative growth. However, as sward development advanced to the elongation and heading stages, visual methods over-estimated the population maturity. The morphological development of perennial forage grasses can be visually estimated during vegetative growth. However, more quantitative and less subjective measurements are necessary to compensate for the visual dominance of elongating and reproductive tillers
MODELLING WITHIN-PLANT SPATIAL DEPENDENCIES OF COTTON YIELD
In field experiments during 1987-1990, cotton plants were grown under 8 different levels of nitrogen application to assess the impact of nitrogen fertilization on the fruiting and yield distribution of cotton within the plant (Boquet et al. 1993).lr.dividual boll weights and average seedcotton yield were determined at each fruiting site fur each main-stem node along the plant. Various models of dependence and independence are possible to explain and account for the dependencies of the yields among the sites and nodes of the plant. Here we investigate models of total yield per node and yield per node adjusted for the number of sites using several models for the spatial dependence among the nodes. Typical univariate models would either assume a simple homogeneous error structure or a compound symmetry error structure among the nodes, leading to the split-plot-type models. A multivariate unstructured approach ignores obvious spatial dependencies among the nodes. Spatial models and ante-dependence models permit a parsimonious summary of the error structure and are compared with the compound symmetry and multivariate models
Bohmian trajectories and Klein's paradox
We compute the Bohmian trajectories of the incoming scattering plane waves
for Klein's potential step in explicit form. For finite norm incoming
scattering solutions we derive their asymptotic space-time localization and we
compute some Bohmian trajectories numerically. The paradox, which appears in
the traditional treatments of the problem based on the outgoing scattering
