Prevalence and Correlates of Depressive Symptoms among Bangladeshi Young Adults due to COVID-19 Outbreak
A web-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 1072 Bangladeshi young adults to identify the prevalence and correlates of depressive symptoms due to COVID-19 pandemic. The 9-item patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9) was used to measure depressive symptoms. Kruskal-Wallis H test and ordered logistic regression were employed to identify the drivers correlated with the levels of depressive symptoms. The estimated prevalence rates of moderate to severe depressive symptoms were 54.1%. Older age, residing urban area, not having stable family income, having relatives or acquaintances infected with COVID-19, being worried about educational delays or jobs, having the disturbance of daily activities, and being worried about social support were significantly associated with the levels of depressive symptoms among Bangladeshi young adults due to COVID-19 pandemic
Towards Sustainable Consumption: Driving Forces behind Bangladeshi Consumers’ Behavior
If stakeholders, service providers, and social systems adopt sustainable consumption behavior and regulate the production and consumption cycle, they may be facilitated to accomplish sustainable development with environmental and socioeconomic advantages. However, the purpose of this study was to look at the driving forces that influence consumer behavior in Bangladesh in terms of sustainable consumption. A quantitative survey was conducted among 384 participants aged 18 years and having minimum higher secondary educational qualifications. The data were collected from Khulna City Corporation of Bangladesh through a structured interview schedule using the convenience sampling technique. The results reported that environmental concern of the participants was found to be the top-ranked driving force and perceived environmental knowledge of the participants was the lowliest ranked driving force behind the consumers’ behavior towards sustainable consumption. Alongside, attitude towards eco-friendly products, perceived consumer effectiveness and sustainable consumption intention were found to be the second, third and fourth ranked driving forces, respectively. The authors hope and anticipate that the findings of this paper will give critical information to relevant authorities and policymakers in order to develop market research and management policies and strategies

Analysing the Factors Influencing Price Hike on Animal Protein-Based Food in Bangladesh: A Supply Chain Perspective
<p>The increasing prices of livestock products (animal-based protein products), including meat, fish, eggs, and poultry, have become a significant concern in Bangladesh. This research is done to find out the root causes of the price hikes within the livestock products and their supply chain. The research also explores potential strategies for resolution. The study investigates key factors behind the price hike, identifies responsible parties, analyzes the overall cost of production, and proposes effective supply chain management improvements in Bangladesh. By analyzing data collected from various sources, including consumer surveys and expert opinions, the research paper highlights how factors like feed expenses, syndicates, inflation, global conflicts, and the COVID-19 pandemic greatly affect price fluctuations of livestock products.</p><p>The study emphasizes the necessity for proactive government regulations, continuous market monitoring, and strategic policies to control price hikes and reduce the adverse effects on consumers' purchasing power. Through this comprehensive analysis, the research paper aims to find out the complex entities that contribute to the price hike of livestock products (meat, eggs, poultry, fish, etc.) and provide suggestions to mitigate the adverse situation.</p>
