TWIN-MAUS: TWo-INterconnected MAUS payloads Untersuchung zur Ausweitung der MAUS-Ressourcen. Endbericht

The evaluation of the resources of the existing MAUS project were examined in the TWIN-MAUS study, using two electrically interconnected GAS containers. Sample data for the requirements of future payloads was derived using the EURECA-HPT as a model payload. The TWIN-MAUS concept was developed from this, comprising a power MAUS, essentially containing the batteries required for power supply, and a payload MAUS with the actual payload and the experiment control system. The concept is so flexibly devised that data can be stored both in the power MAUS, which is necessary in the case of HPT for reasons of space, as well as in the actual payload MAUS, which is desirable for servicing and EMC reasons. The structural, thermal, electronic, power-supply and mission-safety preconditions for completing the technical features of the project are elaborated. The study also contains a proposal for completing the project. (orig.)In der TWIN-MAUS Studie wurde die Auswertung der Ressourcen des bestehenden MAUS-Projektes durch Verwendung zweier untereinander elektrisch verbundener GAS-Container untersucht. Exemplarische Daten fuer die Anforderungen zukuenftiger Nutzlasten wurden unter Verwendung des EURECA-HPT als Modell-Nutzlast abgeleitet. Daraus entstand das TWIN-MAUS Konzept, das aus einer Power-MAUS, die im wesentlichen die zur Energieversorgung notwendigen Batterien enthaelt, und einer Nutzlast-MAUS mit der eigentlichen Nutzlast und der Experimentsteuerung, besteht. Dies Konzept ist so flexibel, dass die Datenspeicherung sowohl in der Power-MAUS, wie z.B. beim HPT aus Platzgruenden erforderlich, als auch in der eigentlichen Nutzlast-MAUS, wie aus Service und EMC-Gruenden wuenschenswert ist, erfolgen kann. Die zur technischen Realisierung notwendigen Voraussetzungen auf den Gebieten Struktur, Thermal, Elektronik, Power-Versorgung und Missionssicherheit werden erarbeitet. Darueber hinaus wurde ein Projektvorschlag fuer die Realisierung erstellt.
