There are presented the concept of monitoring of public transport vehicles (buses). There are compared technologies and equipment available for use in vehicle location subsystem, and technologies which can be applied in remote subsystem of passenger information

    Critical assessment of ERTMS systems reliability based on the example of the GSM-R system

    It can be assumed that at least some of the systems associated with the train traffic operation work in the “mission” mode, i.e. their availability and operational dependability are related to safe “move” of a train through the strictly defined section of the railway line, i.e. systems (devices) must operate reliably during “mission”. In the remaining time, operation of devices does not affect the safe train traffic operation. For example, it is possible to list crossing signalling systems or the GSM-R system, which along with the ETCS 2/3 system, constitutes the ERTMS system. In the article, the GSM-R system operation analysis, in terms of the above-mentioned factors, is presented. In general, it can be assumed that the GSM-R system devices (e.g. BTS base stations) should be efficient within the specific periods, i.e. during the train passing through the relevant section of the railway line. According to the authors’ calculations, it is stated that within longer periods, the selected GSM-R system devices (BTS stations) cannot be fully efficient, i.e. possible failures occurred and removed in these periods will not affect the safe train running

    In the paper is presented a method of assessing of the exploitation efficiency of transport telematics systems. In order to obtain as an overall assessment of transport telematics systems, as the method for evaluating was accepted the multi-state analysis of the exploitation process. Then was elaborated the model of exploitation process of the telematics system. The problem of fundamental importance in the study of efficiency is to determine the partial measures of effectiveness. Using the characteristics of the exploitation process, a model of exploitation efficiency of telematics system was elaborated and the measures of its evaluation are presented.W referacie przestawiono metodę oceny efektywności eksploatacyjnej systemów telematyki transportu. W celu uzyskania w miarę ogólnej oceny działania systemów telematyki transportu, jako metodę oceny przyjęto analizę wielostanowego procesu eksploatacji. Następnie opracowano model procesu eksploatacji sytemu telematyki. Problemem o podstawowym znaczeniu w badaniach efektywności jest wyznaczanie cząstkowych miar efektywności. Wykorzystując charakterystyki procesu eksploatacji opracowano model efektywności eksploatacyjnej systemu telematyki i przedstawiono miary jej oceny

    Analysis of information secure transmission methods in the intelligent transport systems

    The essence of operation of all the ITSs is to make decisions on the basis of the obtained and available information. The relevance of taken decisions depends on the quality of available information, its accuracy and up-to-dateness. It is important to pay attention to the fact that requirements for up-to-dateness of information as well as the consequences of delays in their transfer or in connection with their loss are different depending on the subsystem. The paper presented the issues related to the analysis of the ITS telecommunications environment. The selected aspects of prevention from risks, which may be an important factor affecting the security of the transport system functioning, will be analysed. Moreover, the analysis of methods for the secure data transmission will be also carried out. The transmission security methods will be selected within the framework of VPN virtual tunnel technologies. The mechanisms, the implementation of which will allow to increase the security and availability of information transmission in ITSs, were offered

Dokonano analizy podstawowych procesów, funkcji i zasad zarządzania systemu zarządzania siecią Telekomunikacji Kolejowej w aspekcie sprawnego, efektywnego i spójnego zarządzania procesami wewnątrz struktury organizacyjnej Telekomunikacji Kolejowej oraz zarządzania siecią telekomunikacyjną tego operatora. Przedstawiono koncepcję centrum zarządzania siecią dla Telekomunikacji Kolejowej. W koncepcji szczególną uwagę zwrócono na opis struktury organizacyjnej NMC (Network Management Center) z podziałem według zakresu odpowiedzialności oraz podano przykłady procesów wspomagających działalność operacyjną operatora.The reports concentrate on assumptions and technical requirements concerning the supporting system for the operator of telecommunication departmental network.     The essence of the operation of all ITS systems is to make decisions based on the information obtained and available. Under these assumptions, these systems are expected to utilize telecommunication, IT, automation and measurement technologies, which, in conjunction with advanced control methods, improve communication. Each ITS subsystem has specific requirements for communications channels that have to be tailored to the needs of the subsystem, its topology, and users, taking into account the costs of both the construction and operation of the system. The article presents issues related to information security analysis in ITS systems. Some selected aspects of risk prevention, which may be an important factor affecting the safety of the transport system, will be analysed. The analysis and evaluation of secure data transmission methods will also be conducted. This analysis and evaluation will select secure transmission methods using VPN virtual tunnelling technologies. In the article, the selected problems related to the security and confidentiality of information transmission between ITS elements and the provision of protecting access to the IT systems’ resources and their stored data, the aspects of problem affecting the communication system architecture is signalled. The methods for secure transmission in ITSs are secure transmission methods commonly used in systems, which require the confidentiality and security of information transmission between the data source and its recipient

    W artykule omówiono zagadnienia bezpieczeństwa i jakości informacji w oparciu o standardy systemów zarządzania przedstawione w normach ISO. Zdefiniowano atrybuty bezpieczeństwa danych, a następnie opisano System Zarządzania Bezpieczeństwem Informacji – SZBI oparty na modelu PDCA. W dalszej części publikacji przeanalizowano problem oceny jakości danych, przedstawiając klasyfikację metod jej ewaluacji oraz schemat procesu oceny. W części końcowej omówiono zagadnienie zarządzania ryzykiem, będące częścią składową kompleksowego podejścia do zarządzania bezpieczeństwem informacji.This article discusses the issues of information safety and quality, based on ISO standards for management systems. In its contents attributes of data safety were defined and then the Information Safety Management System based on the PDCA model was described. In the following part of the paper the problem of data quality evaluation was analyzed, classification of data quality evaluation methods was presented and then the diagram of quality evaluation process was shown. Finally the issue of risk management, being a part of comprehensive approach to information safety management was discussed
