The Degree of Financial Liberalization and Aggregated Stock-return Volatility in Emerging Markets
In this study, we address whether the degree of financial liberalization affects the aggregated total volatility of stock returns by considering the time-varying nature of financial liberalization. We also explore channels through which the degree of financial liberalization impacts aggregated total volatility. We document a negative relation to the degree of financial liberalization after controlling for size, liquidity, country, and crisis effects, especially for small and medium-sized markets. Moreover, the degree of financial liberalization transmits its negative impact on aggregated total volatility through aggregated idiosyncratic and local volatilities. Overall, our results provide evidence in favor of the view that the broadening of the investor base due to the increasing degree of financial liberalization causes a reduction in the total volatility of stock returns.return volatility;financial liberalization;market integration;volatility decomposition;emerging markets
The role of university curricula in moderate religious guidance and moral support for the students in sections of Qoraan science and Islamic education from the standpoint of teachers
Aims of current research to know the role of university curricula to moderate religious instruction and moral support for the students sections in Qoraan and Islamic science education from the standpoint of their teachers, the sample consisted from the faculty who are teaching curricula of Qoraan and Islamic education sections for the academic year (2015-2016) in the colleges of education for human Sciences, basic education, and education for girls), their number (29) teachers, 17 of them have a doctorate degree ,and (12) have a master's degree, in order to achieve the goal of the research; a questionnaire prepared that consisted of (33) items distributed to two fields of moderate religious guidance that includes (17) items, while the field of moral support guarantees (16) items, followed by (3) alternatives which included in the curriculum (large, medium, and low), validity and reliability has been verified, the researchers used the means statistical following: the relative weight, independent t-test, via (SPSS) statistical program, after data collection and analysis They found the following: 1. a good percentage for the role of university curricula in moderate religious instruction in sections of Qoraan and Islamic education science students from teachers viewpoint. 2. a medium ratio for the role of university curricula in moral support among Qoraan sections, and Islamic education students from teachers viewpoint. 3. There is a statistically significant difference among the views of the teaching staff for the role of university curricula in the moderate religious guidance and moral support depending on the scientific graduation. The researchers took a series of conclusions and recommendations and proposals. Key words: curriculum, moderate religious guidance, moral suppor
Image compression based on 2D Discrete Fourier Transform and matrix minimization algorithm
In the present era of the internet and multimedia, image compression techniques are essential to improve image and video performance in terms of storage space, network bandwidth usage, and secure transmission. A number of image compression methods are available with largely differing compression ratios and coding complexity. In this paper we propose a new method for compressing high-resolution images based on the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) and Matrix Minimization (MM) algorithm. The method consists of transforming an image by DFT yielding the real and imaginary components. A quantization process is applied to both components independently aiming at increasing the number of high frequency coefficients. The real component matrix is separated into Low Frequency Coefficients (LFC) and High Frequency Coefficients (HFC). Finally, the MM algorithm followed by arithmetic coding is applied to the LFC and HFC matrices. The decompression algorithm decodes the data in reverse order. A sequential search algorithm is used to decode the data from the MM matrix. Thereafter, all decoded LFC and HFC values are combined into one matrix followed by the inverse DFT. Results demonstrate that the proposed method yields high compression ratios over 98% for structured light images with good image reconstruction. Moreover, it is shown that the proposed method compares favorably with the JPEG technique based on compression ratios and image quality

Effect of prior cold work on the mechanical properties of weldments
Heat exchanger units used in steam raising power plant are often manufactured using many metres of austenitic stainless steel tubes that have been plastically formed (bent and swaged) and welded into complex shapes. The amount of plastic deformation (pre-straining) before welding varies greatly. This has a significant effect on the mechanical properties of the welded tubes and on the final residual stress state after welding. The aim of the present work was to measure and understand the combined effects of pre-straining and welding on the properties and residual stress levels in stainless steel tubing weldments. Effects of plastic deformation were simulated by plastically straining three identical stainless steel tubes to different strain levels (0%, 10% and 20%). Then each tube was cut into two halves and welding back together. The variation in mechanical properties across weldments was measured using digital image correlation (DIC) and a series of strain gauges (SG). Residual stresses were measured on the 0% (undeformed) and 20% prestrained and welded tubes by neutron diffraction. It was found that the welding process had a marked effect on the tensile properties of parent material within 25mm of the weld centre-line. Evidence of cyclic strain hardening was observed in the tube that had not been pre-strained, and evidence of softening seen in the 10% and 20% pre-strained tubes. Macroscopic residual stresses were measured to be near zero at distances greater than 25 mm from the weld centre-line, but measurements in the 20% pre-strained tube revealed the presence of micro residual stresses having a magnitude of up to 50 MPa
Split Sfermion Families, Yukawa Unification and Muon g-2
We consider two distinct classes of Yukawa unified supersymmetric SO(10)
models with non-universal and universal soft supersymmetry breaking (SSB)
gaugino masses at M_{\rm GUT}. In both cases, we assume that the third family
SSB sfermion masses at M_{\rm GUT} are different from the corresponding
sfermion masses of the first two families (which are equal). For the SO(10)
model with essentially arbitrary (non-universal) gaugino masses at M_{\rm GUT},
it is shown that t-b-\tau Yukawa coupling unification is compatible, among
other things, with the 125 GeV Higgs boson mass, the WMAP relic dark matter
density, and with the resolution of the apparent muon g-2 anomaly. The colored
sparticles in this case all turn out to be quite heavy, of order 5 TeV or more,
but the sleptons (smuon and stau) can be very light, of order 200 GeV or so.
For the SO(10) model with universal gaugino masses and NUHM2 boundary
conditions, the muon g-2 anomaly cannot be resolved. However, the gluino in
this class of models is not too heavy, \lesssim 3 TeV, and therefore may be
found at the LHC.Comment: 19 pages, 6 figures, 2 table
Adaptive speech compression based on AMBTC
Most of the AMBTC-based RDH (absolute instantaneous block truncation) schemes Cannot be decrypted because AMBTC, which is unknown to most device. Also, some of the RDH methods based on AMBTC. But the load capacity obtained is low. For this purpose, in this work, a scalable RDH scheme based on AMBTC was introduced from the AMBTC zip code. In contrast to the decoder-based AMBTC-based RDH methods that are only able to achieve a constant payload for adjust the audio. Due to its advantages, sound pressure has attracted a great deal of attention in the last 20 years. The main developments concern transmission requirements and storage capacity. The need for high-quality audio data has been increased due to sudden improvements in computer manufacturers and technologies. Therefore, the developments include speech compression technologies, in which the two compression classes are lossless. This paper aims to review techniques for specification compression methods using AMBTC (a momentary absolute block truncation notation based ) method, and to summarize their importance and uses
