A multizone adaptive grid generation technique for simulation of moving and free boundary problems
The formulations of multizone adaptive grid generation (MAGG) are developed in this paper for accurate and efficient simulation of various processes of industrial importance. The internal boundaries between the zones which may move are allowed to be curvilinear. The MAGG technique provides the capability for i) true representation of the irregular boundaries, ii) accurate treatment of single and multiple moving and free boundaries, and iii) efficient distribution of the grid nodes adaptively in response to the development of the solution and/or evolution of the domain with time. Examples are presented to illustrate the effects of these features
