LOCV calculations for polarized liquid 3He^3{He} with the spin-dependent correlation

We have used the lowest order constrained variational (LOCV) method to calculate some ground state properties of polarized liquid 3He^{3}He at zero temperature with the spin-dependent correlation function employing the Lennard-Jones and Aziz pair potentials. We have seen that the total energy of polarized liquid 3He^{3}He increases by increasing polarization. For all polarizations, it is shown that the total energy in the spin-dependent case is lower than the spin-independent case. We have seen that the difference between the energies of spin-dependent and spin-independent cases decreases by increasing polarization. We have shown that the main contribution of the potential energy comes from the spin-triplet state.Comment: 14 pages, 5 figures. Int. J. Mod. Phys. B (2008) in pres

Lowest Order Constrained Variational Calculation of Structure Properties of Protoneutron Star

We calculate the structure properties of protoneutron star such as equation of state, maximum mass, radius and temperature profile using the lowest order constrained variational method. We show that the mass and radius of protoneutron star decrease by decreasing both entropy and temperature. For the protoneutron star, it is shown that the temperature is nearly constant in the core and drops rapidly near the crust.Comment: 14 pages, 12 figures. Int. J. Theor. Phys. (2008) in pres

Computation of Neutron Star Structure Using Modern Equation of State

Using the modern equations of state derived from microscopic calculations, we have calculated the neutron star structure. For the neutron star, we have obtained a minimum mass about 0.1M⊙0.1 {\rm M_{\odot}} which is nearly independent of the equation of state, and a maximum mass between 1.47M⊙1.47 {\rm M_{\odot}} and 1.98M⊙1.98 {\rm M_{\odot}} which is strongly dependent on the equation of state. It is shown that among the equations of state of neutron star matter which we have used, the stiffest one leads to higher maximum mass and radius and lower central density. It is seen that the given maximum mass for the Reid-93 equation of state shows a good consistency with the accurate observations of radio pulsars. We have indicated that the thickness of neutron star crust is very small compared to the predicted neutron star radius.Comment: 16 pages, 6 figure

    Spin polarized liquid 3He

We have employed the constrained variational method to study the influence of spin polarization on the ground state properties of liquid 3He^3{\rm He}. The spin polarized phase, we have found, has stronger correlation with respect to the unpolarized phase. It is shown that the internal energy of liquid 3He^3{\rm He} increases by increasing polarization with no crossing point between polarized and unpolarized energy curves over the liquid density range. The obtained internal energy curves show a bound state, even in the case of fully spin polarized matter. We have also investigated the validity of using a parabolic formula for calculating the energy of spin polarized liquid 3He^3{\rm He}. Finally, we have compared our results with other calculations.Comment: 16 pages, 6 figure

Finite temperature calculations for the bulk properties of strange star using a many-body approach

We have considered a hot strange star matter, just after the collapse of a supernova, as a composition of strange, up and down quarks to calculate the bulk properties of this system at finite temperature with the density dependent bag constant. To parameterize the density dependent bag constant, we use our results for the lowest order constrained variational (LOCV) calculations of asymmetric nuclear matter. Our calculations for the structure properties of the strange star at different temperatures indicate that its maximum mass decreases by increasing the temperature. We have also compared our results with those of a fixed value of the bag constant. It can be seen that the density dependent bag constant leads to higher values of the maximum mass and radius for the strange star.Comment: 21 pages, 2 tables, 12 figures Astrophys. (2011) accepte
