Measurement of correlated jet cross sections in collisions at TeV
We report on measurements of differential cross sections,
where the muon is from a semi-leptonic decay and the is
identified using precision track reconstruction in jets. The semi-differential
correlated cross sections, d/d\Et^{{\bar b}}, d/d\pt^{{\bar
b}}, and d/d for \pt^{\mu}>~9 GeV/c,
~10 GeV, ~1.5, are

Measurement of the Meson Differential Cross Section, , in Collisions at TeV
This paper presents the first direct measurement of the meson
differential cross section, , in collisions at
TeV using a sample of pb accumulated by
the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF). The cross section is measured in the
central rapidity region GeV/ by fully
reconstructing the meson decays and , where and .
A comparison is made to the theoretical QCD prediction calculated at

The Charge Asymmetry in W-Boson Decays Produced in p-pbar Collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.8 TeV
The charge asymmetry has been measured using decays recorded by
the CDF detector during the 1992-93 run of the Tevatron Collider. The asymmetry
is sensitive to the ratio of and quark distributions to at
, where nonperturbative effects are minimal. It is found
that of the two current sets of parton distributions, those of Martin, Roberts
and Stirling (MRS) are favored over the sets most recently produced by the CTEQ
collaboration. The asymmetry data provide a stronger constraints on
ratio than the recent measurements of which are
limited by uncertainties originating from deutron corrections.Comment: to be published in PR
Limits on and couplings from and production in collisions at TeV
Direct limits are set on and three-boson couplings in a
search for and production with high transverse momentum in
collisions at TeV, using the Collider Detector
at Fermilab. The results are in agreement with the SU(2) U(1) model of
electroweak interactions. Assuming Standard Model coupling, the the
limits are interpreted as direct evidence for a non-zero coupling at
subprocess energies near 500 GeV. Alternatively, assumiong identical and

Z + {gamma} cross-section measurement, {sigma}*BR(Z + {gamma}), in the electron channel for p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.8 TeV, and limits for the ZZ{gamma} and Z{gamma}{gamma} anomalous couplings
The Z + {gamma} cross-section x branching ratio in the electron channel has been measured using the inclusive Z data sample from the CDF 1988--1989 collider run, for which the total integrated luminosity was 4.05 {plus_minus} 0.28 pb{sup {minus}1}. Two Z{gamma} candidates are observed from central photon events with {Delta}R/{sub {gamma}} > 0.7 and E{sub t}{sup {gamma}} > 5.0 GeV. From these events the {sigma} * BR(Z + {gamma}) is measured and compared with SM predictions: {sigma} * BR(Z + {gamma}){sub e} = 6.8{sub {minus}5.7}{sup +5.7}(stat + syst)pb {sigma} * BR(Z + {gamma})SM = 4.7{sub {minus}4.7}{sup +0.7}(stat + syst)pb. From this ZZ{sub {gamma}} cross section measurement limits on the Z{sub {gamma}{gamma}} and couplings for three different choices of compositeness scale {Lambda}{sub Z} are obtained. The experimental sensitivity to the h{sub 30}{sup Z,{gamma}}/h{sub 10}{sup Z,{gamma}} couplings is in the range of {Lambda}{sub Z} {approximately} 450--500 GeV and for the h{sub 40}{sup Z{gamma}}/h{sub 20}{sup Z,{gamma}} couplings {Lambda}{sub Z} {approximately} 300 GeV
OBSERVATION OF THE DECAY B(S)0-]J-PSI-PHI IN (P)OVER-BAR-P COLLISIONS AT ROOT-S = 1.8 TEV
none355This Letter reports the observation and mass measurement of fully reconstructed B(s)0 mesons through the decay chain B(s)0 --> J/psiphi, J/psi --> mu+mu-, phi --> K+K- using data obtained at the Collider Detector at Fermilab in ppBAR collisions at square-root s = 1.8 TeV. A signal of 14.0 +/- 4.7 events is observed. Comparison of the B(s)0 signal with the kinematically similar decays B+ --> J/psiK+ and B0 --> J/psiK*(892)0 is presented. MEASUREMENT OF THE POLARIZATION IN THE DECAYS B-D-]J/PSI-K-(ASTERISK-0) AND BS-]J/PSI-PHI
This Letter reports on measurements of the longitudinal polarization fractions in the decays B-d --> J/psi K*(0) and B-s --> J/psi phi using data collected with the Collider Detector at Fermilab. B-d mesons are reconstructed through the decay chain B-d --> J/psi K*(0), J/psi --> mu(+)mu(-), K*(0) --> K(+)phi(-). A sample of 65 +/- 10 B-d events is used to obtain a longitudinal polarization fraction of T-L/Gamma = 0.65 +/- 0.10(stat) +/- 0.04(syst). B-s mesons are reconstructed through the decay chain B-s --> J/psi phi, J/psi --> mu(+)mu(-), phi --> K+K-. A sample of 19 +/- 5 B-s events is used to obtain the result Gamma(L)/Gamma = 0.56 +/- 0.21(stat)-(+0.02)(0.04)(syst)
MEASUREMENT OF THE RATIO SIGMA-B(W-]E-NU)/SIGMA-B(Z(0)-]E+E-) IN P(OVER-BAR)-P COLLISIONS AT ROOT-S=1.8-TEV
We present a measurement of the ratio sigmaB(W --> eupsilon)/sigmaB(Z0 --> e+e-) in ppBAR collisions at square-root s = 1.8 TeV. The data represent an integrated luminosity of 21.7 pb-1 from the 1992-1993 run of the Collider Detector at Fermilab. We find sigmaB(W --> eupsilon)/sigmaB(Z0 --> e+e-) = 10.90 +/- 0.32(stat) +/- 0.29(syst). From this value, we extract a value for the W width, GAMMA(W) = 2.064 +/- 0.061(stat) +/- 0.059(syst) GeV, and the branching ratio, GAMMA(W --> eupsilon)/GAMMA(W) = 0.1094 +/- 0.0033(stat) +/- 0.0031(syst), and we set a decay-mode-independent limit on the top quark mass m(top) > 62 GeV/c2 at the 95% C.L
Search for the Rare Decay W\ub1 \u2192\u3c0\ub1+\u3b3
none413We have searched for the rare decay W-+/- --> pi(+/-) + gamma in 16.7 pb(-1) of data taken in proton-antiproton collisions at root s = 1.8 TeV with the CDF detector at Fermilab. We find one event consistent with subtraction, we find the ratio of partial widths to be Gamma(W-+/- --> pi(+/-) + gamma)/Gamma(W-+/- --> e(+/-) + nu) less than or equal to 2.0 X 10(-3) at the 95% confidence level.noneF. DIRECT MEASUREMENT OF THE W-BOSON WIDTH
This Letter describes a direct measurement of the W boson decay width, Γ(W), using the high-mass tail of the transverse mass spectrum of W→eν decays recorded by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. We findΓ(W)=2.11±0.28(stat)±0.16(syst) GeV and compare this direct measurement with indirect means of obtaining the width. © 1995 The American Physical Society
