Chemical recycling of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) to monomers: Mathematical modeling of the transesterification reaction of bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate to dimethyl terephthalate
The accumulation of plastic waste in the environment is making recycling a compelling issue, particularly for polyethylene terephthalate (PET), used in products with a short shelf-life. An appealing route to chemical recycling of PET is glycolysis, leading to bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET). Its subsequent transesterification with methanol to dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) is crucial for the recovery of polymer-grade monomers. To favor the industrial applicability of this process, this work investigates the influence of three main parameters, i.e. the methanol to ethylene glycol molar ratio, the solvent to oligomers molar ratio and the mass fraction of the catalyst, on the transesterification of BHET to DMT. A kinetic model has been proposed, and the reaction rates evaluated by comparison with the experimental data. The model was used to predict the performances of the process in a wide range of operating conditions, in order to establish the optimal ones for high yield to DMT
Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran dan Motivasi Berprestasi terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa pada Materi Ms Excel
This research was aimed to know the influence of learning outcome of students using direct learning model and the learning outcome of students using cooperative learning model – Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) type - on IF logic function. The method used in this research was quasi experiment with Non-equivalent control group design model. The research was held at XI-IA1 class ( using direct learning model) and XI-IA6 (using cooperative learning model type STAD). Choosing the two researched classes was based on random sampling technique. The research design used two way – anova. The instrument used was an objective test ( 7 items) which its validity and reliability had been tested. According to the data analysis, we knew that: (1) There was a different of the learning outcome between the students taught using direct learning model and the ones taught using cooperative learning model – type STAD. This conclusion was based on the result of the hypothesis testing to the two classes - post test score namely; thit 3.983 > ttabel 1.69 or (Fhit) 76.190 > 0.073 (sig.), at significant 0.05. (2) There was no different of the learning outcome between the students who had high achieving motivation and the ones had low one. This conclusion was shown by the result of the hypothesis testing, thit 0.259 < ttable 1.69 or (Fhit) 0.026 < 0.899 (sig.), at significant 0.05. (3) There was a correlation between a learning model and students\u27 achieving motivation. This conclusion was proved by the result of the probability testing Fhit 0.129 < Ftable 0.169, or Fhit 0.129 < 0.720(sig.) at significant 0.05
Allosteric modulators targeting cannabinoid cb1 and cb2 receptors: Implications for drug discovery
Allosteric modulators of cannabinoid receptors hold great therapeutic potential, as they do not possess intrinsic efficacy, but instead enhance or diminish the receptor's response of orthosteric ligands allowing for the tempering of cannabinoid receptor signaling without the desensitization, tolerance and dependence. Allosteric modulators of cannabinoid receptors have numerous advantages over the orthosteric ligands such as higher receptor type selectivity, probe dependence and biased signaling, so they have a great potential to separate the therapeutic benefits from side effects own of orthosteric ligands. This review aims to give an overview of the CB1 and CB2 receptor allosteric modulators highlighting the structure-activity relationship and pharmacological profile of each classes, and their future promise
Non-specific oral and cutaneous manifestations of coronavirus disease 2019 in children
Background: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) seems to affect children only marginally, as a result, there is less knowledge of its manifestations in childhood. The purpose of this retrospective cross-sectional study was to investigate the oral and cutaneous manifestations in children affected by COVID-19. Material and Methods: All the medical records of children with COVID-19 admitted to the Pediatric Clinic-ASST Spedali Civili of Brescia from March to April 2020 were reviewed. The following data were recorded: Age, temperature, clinical presentation, oral mucosa lesions, taste alteration and cutaneous lesions. Results: The medical records of twenty-seven pediatric patients (mean age 4,2 years + 1,7) were analyzed. The clinical presentation of the disease mainly included elevated body temperature and cough. The following oral lesions were recorded: Oral pseudomembranous candidiasis (7.4 %), geographic tongue (3.7%), coated tongue (7.4 %) and hyperaemic pharynx (37 %). Taste alteration was reported by 3 patients. Six patients presented cutaneous flat papular lesions. Conclusions: As for our paediatric sample, COVID-19 resulted to be associated with non-specific oral and cutaneous manifestations

Critical limb ischemia (CLI) is the most severe manifestation of the peripheral arterial disease. To date, several prognostic factors have been identified but the data of long-term follow-up in real life setting are scarce. The aim of our study is to describe a large group of CLI patients and identify possible prognostic factors, in a long-term follow-up
Weakly-Interacting Bosons in a Trap within Approximate Second Quantization Approach
The theory of Bogoliubov is generalized for the case of a weakly-interacting
Bose-gas in harmonic trap. A set of nonlinear matrix equations is obtained to
make the diagonalization of Hamiltonian possible. Its perturbative solution is
used for the calculation of the energy and the condensate fraction of the model
system to show the applicability of the method.Comment: 6 pages, two figures .Presented at the International Symposium on
