    Role of ethical culture in creating public value

    The concept of public value is very important for public sector organization and it is considered that there is no more important topic in public administration and public policy than public value. The underlying principle of the pubic value concept is that the value to citizens should guide the operations of public organizations on the delivery of public services. The goal of all sectors of the economy, public and private, is to create or increase the value created by their contribution. The term ‘public value’ can be defined as what the public values – what they are willing to make sacrifices of money and freedom to achieve, and describes the contribution made by the public sector to economic, social and environmental well-being of a society or nation. The concept of public value has been extended in many different ways but the major focus is on the sources of public value and how to create public value. In this study our main goal is to find the relationship between ethical culture and public value and what is the impact of ethical culture on public value. Ethical culture refers to the ethical quality of a work environment, which is defined as the shared values, norms, and beliefs that can stimulate ethical behavior. Organization’s ethical culture is related to its employees’ intended responses to observed and ultimately promotes ethical behavior and this ethical behavior is the backbone of public value creation

    Gestalt therapy in anger intervention: a case study of married student

    Anger is a social problem which leads to irrational behaviour. It is believed that anger is associated with antagonistic personality. Antagonistic personalities. Antagonistic personalities tend to influence people towards immediate verbal attacks, as well as hurting, and opposing others. Therefore, in this study, researchers aim an anger treatment. Researchers used gestalt therapy for a client who experienced marital relationship problems. Participant of this study came from a counselling case study. In counselling, participants are usually called as clients. Three weeks of gestalt of therapy treatment were applied to client. During treatment, five intervention strategies were used, which included counsellor-client relationship, unfinished business, phenomenological inquiry, exaggerate movement, and empty chair. The findings showed that client was able to control his anger towards his wife. The study shows gestalt therapy is able to change client irrational thinking to rational and realistic. The client realized that it was unfair to make negative judgments towards his wife. Gestalt therapy helped the client reach his insight. At the end of the treatment, the client was able to control his anger and learned the way to seek forgiveness. In conclusion, this study provides useful information for counsellors to understand how gestalt therapy works for anger treatment

    Understanding young adults' perception on e-cigarette: a qualitative study

    E-cigarette are widely used in society. In order to understand the intentions of e-cigarettes usage among young adults, this study aimed to explore what factors influenced them to use e-cigarettes. In this study, 5 participants volunteered for counselling discussion. All participants were males and currently enrolled as university students. Participant's ages ranged from 21 to 25 years old. This study used a qualitative method by applied interview approach to gain in-depth understanding of participants' viewpoints on e-cigarettes. The findings showed that there were 7 categories explained the intentions of young adults on e-cigarette usage. The intentions for e-cigarettes usage were to stop smoking addiction, harmless, suitable for indoor smoking, user friendly, pleasant flavour, fashion, and hobby. Based on these categories, this study grouped young adults' perceptions on e-cigarettes usage into 3 factors, which were the perception that e-cigarettes were safer than tobacco smoking, the nature of e-cigarettes was opposite by tobacco cigarettes, and to be stylish. The study provides a conceptual understanding for counsellors and educators to gain information about young adults' perceptions on this matter. This study helps further research to construct domains regarding the perceptions of e-cigarettes usage among young adults
