Blind image separation based on exponentiated transmuted Weibull distribution
In recent years the processing of blind image separation has been
investigated. As a result, a number of feature extraction algorithms for direct
application of such image structures have been developed. For example,
separation of mixed fingerprints found in any crime scene, in which a mixture
of two or more fingerprints may be obtained, for identification, we have to
separate them. In this paper, we have proposed a new technique for separating a
multiple mixed images based on exponentiated transmuted Weibull distribution.
To adaptively estimate the parameters of such score functions, an efficient
method based on maximum likelihood and genetic algorithm will be used. We also
calculate the accuracy of this proposed distribution and compare the
algorithmic performance using the efficient approach with other previous
generalized distributions. We find from the numerical results that the proposed
distribution has flexibility and an efficient resultComment: 14 pages, 12 figures, 4 tables. International Journal of Computer

Oxide Film Growth on Copper in Neutral Aqueous Solutions
The copper electrode potentials measured by the open circuit potential method in strongly aerated solutions of SO4-2, Cl-, Br-, I-, CrO4-2, CO3-2, and NO2- with difference concentrations, till steady state values are attained. The copper electrode potentials of the all experiments increase from negative to more positive values indicating oxide film growth. The copper oxide film thickness attains maximum value at low and high concentrations of each aggressive and inhibitive anions respectively. The rate of oxide film thickening is determined by use the relation: E = a + b log t, where a and b are constants. The concentration of the inhibitive anions, CrO4-2, CO3-2, and NO2- that can withstand a certain concentration of the aggressive ions, , Cl-, Br-, and I-, varies due to the relation: logC inh. = A + n logC agg., where A and n are constants. The all experiments were investigated at 25oC in all electrolytes. Keywords: Copper; oxide growth; passivity; open circuit potential
Dietary Behavior Related to Cancer Prevention in a Low Income Community
Background: The incidence of cancer is increasing in developing countries. Diet and cancer have a close relationship. Objectives: The objectives of this study were to measure the cancer prevention-related nutrition knowledge, attitudes, and practice and barriers related to healthy food in a low income community, and to assess their cancer worries. Subjects and Methods: This cross-section descriptive study was carried out in a slum area in Cairo on a convenience sample of 414 adults permanently residing in the area. A structured interview questionnaire was used for collecting participants' socio-demographic data, knowledge about cancer, attitude and practice towards cancer dietary prevention, cancer worry scale, and the barriers preventing eating healthy food. Results: The study revealed a wide range of participants' knowledge scores. Participants' attitude towards a healthy diet was also low. The most deficient practices were related to the intake of balanced diet and vitamins, practice of exercise, and cancer screening. The most frequent barrier to a healthy diet was taste (42%), while the lack of information was the least (3.1%). Multivariate analysis showed that the knowledge score was positively predicted by cancer worry score. The attitude score was positively predicted by age and knowledge score, and the practice score by married status, crowding index, and attitude score. Conclusion: there is a poor level of knowledge and inadequate practices regarding cancer dietary prevention despite good attitudes, in addition to high worries about cancer. Implications for Practice: There is urgent need for awareness raising intervention programs for dietary prevention of cancer. Keywords: Cancer, Diet, Knowledge, Attitude, Practice, Barrie
