Aim of the study: As in any dental treatment procedure and even more in implant treatment, a thorough patient assessment is a prerequisite for adequate planning. Implant prosthesis is a prognostically favourable rehabilitation method, if supported by a correct diagnostic procedure and performed according to rigorous and standardized surgical and prosthetic protocols. Materials and methods: : A number of 20 medical research studies emphasising implant treatment protocol and management were analysed in terms of clinical and surgical steps, occlusion and gnathological rehabilitation. One of the main inclusion criteria was represented by comprehensive protocol and clinical management form the last ten years and for the exclusion criteria, one of them was insufficient data for complete therapeutical plan, and articles that appeared before 2012. Results and Conclusions: Implant-supported restorations provide considerable advantages over other available treatment options and, by limiting the biological sacrifice required in case of fixed or removable prosthesis. Implant treatment can be considered minimally invasive in case of single implants and can be considered a treatment option for the restoration of missing teeth. Nevertheless the clinician must carefully and completely evaluate all the factors involved in order to ensure a long-term predictable outcome

Aim of the study: The social and psychological role of a pleasant smile is well known. In addition to the aesthetic aspect, the functional role of a complete dento-maxillary system, with a normal function that ensures mastication and phonation, are of great importance [1]. The present article regards all the criteria that have to be met in order to achieve high aesthetic results weather is done with fixed prosthesis or individual restorations. Materials and methods: Literature data research was performed in order to analyse the comprehensive criteria needed for prosthodontics treatment in the aesthetic area. Two clinical cases are presented as result of following predictable protocol for treatment in the aesthetic area. Results and Conclusions: Obtained results clearly show the importance of prosthodontics by establishing integrity of dental arches, restoring functional guides, aesthetics and phonatory function. For young patients, who require fixed prosthetic restorations, it is fundamental to consider the translucency of the incisal margin especially when not all the frontal group is restored. Respecting translucency along with all the other key elements of prosthodontic restoration ensure a special aesthetic integration in the context of the natural arch

Aim of the study: The role of 3D CBCT imaging as a new diagnostic tool in modern-day dentistry cannot be overemphasized and has increasingly been referred to as the ā€˜standard of careā€™ for diagnostic maxillofacial imaging. It serves as an essential diagnostic tool for clinical assessment and treatment planning and has revolutionized every aspect of dental implant treatment steps. Materials and methods: For this article, we analysed and compared a number of 21 medical research studies such as systematic reviews, meta-analysis and clinical guidelines specialized in this field. We analysed articles from 2012 to nowadays to obtain an overview of the importance of radiological evaluation of muco-bone support in dental implantology. Results and Conclusions: CBCT imaging and 3D computer software have significantly increased the accuracy and efficiency of diagnostic and treatment capabilities, thereby contributing towards for more predictable treatment outcomes and improved patient care in implant dentistry

PARTICULAR ASPECTS OF IMPACTED MAXILLARY CANINE IN CHILDREN ā€“ A NARRATIVE REVIEW

Canine impactions are frequently encountered in the pediatric population. Impacted canines may pose a functional and esthetic problem for patients and can affect the neighboring teeth (incisors and premolars). Early detection and management of such pathology may help the pediatric dentist and orthodontist to prevent many unwanted local and regional complications. Various surgical and orthodontic techniques may be used to recover impacted maxillary canines. The decision to surgically correct these impacted teeth is usually made by the orthodontist. The treatment of impacted teeth requires a multidisciplinary team comprising orthodontist, pediatric dentist, dento-alveolar surgeon, and sometimes a periodontist

Aim of the study: The present study aims to provide an overview on the problem of restoration of the frontal area, offering alternatives in relation to the technique of performing fixed prosthetic treatments, which adapts according to the etiology of the problem, the patientā€™s expectations, the cost and the possibilities of the medical and technical dental office. Materials and methods: A number of 42 patients from a private practice in Sighetu Marmatiei were analysed during 2021-2023, in terms of need of aesthetic rehabilitation, treatment steps and final result. Clinical charts were filled and analysed for each patient and satisfaction questionnaire was applied and the end of the treatment for 30 of these patients that met the aesthetic criteria analysed in the study. Results and Conclusions:47% of the patients were from the 20-30 age range, from which 67% were female. Treatment was in 66% requested for maxilla, prosthetic restoration being made from ceramic masses. Feldspathic ceramics were used in a rather small percentage of only 8%, while pressed ceramics had a percentage of 46%, equal to that of zirconia-based ceramics. From the study group 40% of patients declared satisfied and the end of the treatment, 40% were elated, and only 7% were dissatisfied by the final results mainly due to the ā€œHollywoodā€ type of restoration that they envisaged, in disaccord to the natural aspect of the rest of the present teeth on the arches. The restoration of the frontal area is often a challenge for the dentist, who has the mission of keeping the mechanical, biological and aesthetic principles in balance
