The article studies the dependence of the human flow density on two main parameters: the width of the staircase and the number of people on the floor. It was established that violation of standards in terms of the entrance door width and the presence of a stair hall have a strong influence on the total time of evacuation due to the formation of clusters. The tabular dependence of the maximum human flow density on the staircase width on the number of people per floor was obtained. On the basis of this dependence, the graph was built, which can be used in the stair width design, taking into account the allowable human flows density in the case of known average number of people on each floor of the building

    Mumpreneurship for urban development

    No full text
This article examines the experiences of women entrepreneurs who started their business in the maternity or childcare leave period. The findings significantly differ from those case studies reported in the literature. The examined case highlights the financial reason that contradicts earlier publications regarding European women who ‘want to be a good mom, but not just a housewife’. Furthermore, the study revealed the lack of knowledge among mumpreneurs in the field of law and taxation. Therefore, they mostly operate without official registration and pay no taxes. However, the data from this study revealed certain latent entrepreneurial potential that can be developed and may influence socio-economic development of the community

The impact of building-renovation program on the city’s environment

    No full text
Implementation of the residential renovation program, which is currently underway in the city of Moscow, as well as in other cities of the Russian Federation, helps to create comfortable and safe living conditions for citizens. In addition, one of the most important tasks of this program is the integrated development of urban areas: development of public spaces, landscaping of districts, organization of parks and recreation areas. These aspects help to create more favorable living conditions and also have a positive impact on the environmental component of the area. As renovation of residential buildings is a combination of renovation or modernization of existing buildings, more attention is being paid to the energy efficiency of buildings, as well as their impact on the environment. For example, modernizing the engineering systems, improving the thermal conductivity of the building envelope and other aspects can reduce greenhouse gas emissions; reduce energy consumption and so on. Thus, the implementation of the housing renovation program, due to its massive scale, has a favorable impact on the environmental condition of the city and its districts

Project team acquiring based on digital footprint

    No full text
Project management issues are closely related to a team acquiring. Traditionally considered factors are the level of experience, interest level, personal qualification, availability, and knowledge - do not take into account the interaction of team members. In this regard, the increased conflictogenic situation may complicates communication in the project and reduces its effectiveness. The proposed methodology analyzes the digital footprint of candidates who are the potential project team members in an intracorporate messenger. The analyzed elements are words nominating emotions, words describing emotions and emotive means (emoji, punctuation marks, Caps Lock symbols). Based on the analysis of the digital footprint, the diagnostics of the expected and avoidable characteristics of team members is carried out, a homogeneous environment is formed based on the median indicators. Selected project team members must correspond to discovered indicators or have minimal deviations. This technique can also be adapted for recruiting members into an already established team. Diagnostics must be done in a similar way, the group-specific characteristic must be identified, and suitable candidates should not deviate from the median value by more than 1 point. Thus, there is no model of an “ideal” team, since it is formed in the format of an ideal combination of existing members

    No full text
Taking into account that construction is one of the resource-intensive economic sectors, which is reflected in natural capital consumption and taking out the land resources from the turnover, it significantly affects the environmental situation. The conducted review of the previous research in the environmental analysis confirms the importance of the aforementioned problem and the urgency of research continuation to develop a tool for the environmental subsystem management in terms of companies’ sustainable development management. As a uniting tool for quantitative and qualitative analytical methods providing the basis for the choice and implementation of the strategy taking into account environmental requirements, we proposed a method for building of a construction company environmental profile, a scorecard with specific indicators underlying such profile as well as approaches for their reference level formation. To ensure the growth of the companies' environmental responsibility, it was proposed to increase the range of the estimated figures used for the formation of the construction companies' rankings including the environmental indicators into the system alongside with the economic and social figures with the account of the achieved outcomes both on the basis of the instantaneous and rate indicators

The paper analyzes the waste recovery methods. The comparison of the recovery and processing technologies of solid domestic waste is made. The most effective technologies are proposed from the point of view of ecology, specific capital investments, profitability. Analysis of the research results showed that the pyrolysis technology for the neutralization and recovery of domestic waste is the best according to technical and economic and environmental indicators. The calculation of the economic pay-back is carried out using the example of the waste recovery plant construction by the pyrolysis method in the Arkhangelsk region. The calculation took into account all costs associated with the construction and operation of the plant, including capital investments, maintenance and removal of waste, as well as their storage. At the same time, the item of income was formed both at the expense of obligatory of the Arkhangelsk region resident payments for the domestic waste removal, and at the expense of additional financial revenues from electricity and secondary resources (slag, pyrolysis oil, pyro-gas) generated during the recovery process. The project payback period was 7.8 years
