Optimizing Anti-Phishing Solutions Based on User Awareness, Education and the Use of the Latest Web Security Solutions
Phishing has grown significantly in volume over the time, becoming the most usual web threat today. The present economic crisis is an added argument for the great increase in number of attempts to cheat internet users, both businesses and private ones. The present research is aimed at helping the IT environment get a more precise view over the phishing attacks in Romania; in order to achieve this goal we have designed an application able to retrieve and interpret phishing related data from five other trusted web sources and compile them into a meaningful and more targeted report. As a conclusion, besides making available regular reports, we underline the need for a higher degree of awareness related to this issue.Security, Phishing, Ev-SSL, Security Solutions
RESEARCH ISSUES CONCERNING ALGORITHMS USED FOR OPTIMIZING THE DATA MINING PROCESS
In this paper, we depict some of the most widely used data mining algorithms that have an overwhelming utility and influence in the research community. A data mining algorithm can be regarded as a tool that creates a data mining model. After analyzing a set of data, an algorithm searches for specific trends and patterns, then defines the parameters of the mining model based on the results of this analysis. The above defined parameters play a significant role in identifying and extracting actionable patterns and detailed statistics. The most important algorithms within this research refer to topics like clustering, classification, association analysis, statistical learning, link mining. In the following, after a brief description of each algorithm, we analyze its application potential and research issues concerning the optimization of the data mining process. After the presentation of the data mining algorithms, we will depict the most important data mining algorithms included in Microsoft and Oracle software products, useful suggestions and criteria in choosing the most recommended algorithm for solving a mentioned task, advantages offered by these software products.data mining optimization, data mining algorithms, software solutions
SOLUTIONS FOR OPTIMIZING THE DATA PARALLEL PREFIX SUM ALGORITHM USING THE COMPUTE UNIFIED DEVICE ARCHITECTURE
In this paper, we analyze solutions for optimizing the data parallel prefix sum function using the Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) that provides a viable solution for accelerating a broad class of applications. The parallel prefix sum function is an essential building block for many data mining algorithms, and therefore its optimization facilitates the whole data mining process. Finally, we benchmark and evaluate the performance of the optimized parallel prefix sum building block in CUDA.CUDA, threads, GPGPU, parallel prefix sum, parallel processing, task synchronization, warp

European Efficiency or Inefficiency in Economic Growth Through Digital Transformation
The current global changes bring to the fore the importance of the innovation and digital transformation for economic development. Under the previous assumption, an objective evaluation of the economic growth discrepancies, considering the digitalization process, is required. The main goal of the present research is to analyse the economic growth of the European countries, based to the digitalization process, by using an input-output method. Under these circumstances, a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was performed, considering the digitalization dimensions of DESI Index as input and the economic growth (annual %) as output. Based on the proposed model, the results highlighted the bidirectional relationship between economic growth and digitalization. Consistent with the research results, the European countries can be divided in two main categories: the efficient and the inefficient. On one hand, we can find the relatively efficient European states in terms of achieving the economic growth through digitalization (Ireland, Romania, Croatia and Greece). On the other hand, there is a numerous list of the inefficient ones, including important countries like Finland, Germany or France. Obviously, a remarkable aspect related to their situation is that, considering the national available inputs, an output maximization will be possible. According to the proposed model, the efficient countries can serve as peers or optimal benchmarks for solving the issue of relative inefficiency, by adapting and implementing their good practices
Optimization Solutions for Improving the Performance of the Parallel Reduction Algorithm Using Graphics Processing Units
In this paper, we research, analyze and develop optimization solutions for the parallel reduction function using graphics processing units (GPUs) that implement the Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA), a modern and novel approach for improving the software performance of data processing applications and algorithms. Many of these applications and algorithms make use of the reduction function in their computational steps. After having designed the function and its algorithmic steps in CUDA, we have progressively developed and implemented optimization solutions for the reduction function. In order to confirm, test and evaluate the solutions' efficiency, we have developed a custom tailored benchmark suite. We have analyzed the obtained experimental results regarding: the comparison of the execution time and bandwidth when using graphic processing units covering the main CUDA architectures (Tesla GT200, Fermi GF100, Kepler GK104) and a central processing unit; the data type influence; the binary operator's influence
STUDY ON THE INFLUENCE OF WELDER’S FATIGUE ON THE QUALITY OF WELD LINES
In this paper a case study is presented, based on certain exercises applied to different welders, to evaluate the influence of welder’s fatigue on the quality of welding. The performed test was aimed at evaluating the technical performance (the welding act) of subjects, as well as the accuracy of weld lines. Five modules of exercises were applied. The exercises of each module were various, they were of medium level, so that they were neither overburdened, nor unsolicited, because both situations could lead to accidents due to fatigue. A weld line was performed after each exercises’ module. The visual quality of welding was appreciated according to the EN ISO 17637:2011 standard

Synthesis and Evaluation of Antimicrobial Activity of Tetranorlabdane Compounds Bearing 1,3,4-Thiadiazole Units
Synthesis of novel tetranorlabdane compounds bearing 1,3,4-thiadiazole units and intermediary tetranorlabdane compounds with thiosemicarbazone fragment has been reported. The structures of the new synthesized compounds were confirmed using IR and 1H, 13C, and 15N NMR spectroscopy. The in vitro antifungal and antibacterial activities of the mentioned compounds have been evaluated. Results of this study have shown that the 1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-imine has excellent activity against tested strains of fungi and species of bacteria at minimum inhibitory concentration values of 0.125 and 2.5 μg/mL, respectively
