Pillars of salt : ebb and flow

Pillars of Salt is a film about confronting your fears and the uncertainties of moving on. Our protagonist, Luis interrogates the impulses that led him into an affair with his married supervisor at work. The sound design for the film aims to create and reflect the way our protagonist sees, feels and flows with the motion of his world. It is about bringing forward the turbulences of his fears sonically into the reality that he lives in. They swell with intimacy, passion and love and then into a decrescendo of quietness, sadness and regrets, like the ebb and flow of life. My role as the Director of Sound includes both the technical and creative aspect of location sound and audio post-production. It involves decision making and collaborations between the different departments throughout the entire making of the film. From script to screen : the return's journey

This report serves as a documentation for six undergraduates from the School of Art Design and Media specialising in Digital Filmmaking for their final thesis film, Return the Night. Return the Night tells a story about Xu Xin, who tries to make sense of what happened to her, as event over the night unfolded with only faint pieces of memory lingering. In this report, it discussed the perspective from each roles, mainly the director, producer, cinematographer, art director, sound supervisor and editor, and how each member collaborated and overcome different challenges in creating this film.Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Filmmakin
