A useful way to obtain the central charge of entanglement Hamiltonian -- Nested entanglement entropy

    Get PDF
In this paper, we review how to obtain the central charge of a critical entanglement Hamiltonian through the nested entanglement entropy which was first introduced in [J. Lou et al. PRB 84, 245128 (2011)]. The critical phenomena of the entanglement Hamiltonian can be identified by the central charge obtained by the nested entanglement entropy. We review our previous studies[J. Lou et al. PRB 84, 245128 (2011), S. Tanaka et al. PRA 87, 214401 (2013)] in which we investigated certain entanglement nature of two-dimensional valence-bond-solid (VBS) state and quantum hard-square models on square and triangle ladders using the nested entanglement entropy.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, to appear in Interdisciplinary Information Science

    Statistical switching kinetics in ferroelectrics

By assuming a more realistic nucleation and polarization reversal scenario we build a new statistical switching model for ferroelectrics, which is different from either the Kolmogorov-Avrami-Ishibashi (KAI) model or the Nucleation-Limited-Switching (NLS) model. After incorporating a time-dependent depolarization field this model gives a good description about the retardation behavior in polycrystalline thin films at medium or low fields, which can not be described by the traditional KAI model. This model predicts correctly n=1 for polycrystalline thin films at high Eappl or ceramic bulks in the ideal case

Spin accumulation created electrically in an n-type germanium channel using Schottky tunnel contacts

Using high-quality Fe3_{3}Si/n+n^{+}-Ge Schottky-tunnel-barrier contacts, we study spin accumulation in an nn-type germanium (nn-Ge) channel. In the three- or two-terminal voltage measurements with low bias current conditions at 50 K, Hanle-effect signals are clearly detected only at a forward-biased contact. These are reliable evidence for electrical detection of the spin accumulation created in the nn-Ge channel. The estimated spin lifetime in nn-Ge at 50 K is one order of magnitude shorter than those in nn-Si reported recently. The magnitude of the spin signals cannot be explained by the commonly used spin diffusion model. We discuss a possible origin of the difference between experimental data and theoretical values.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, To appear in J. Appl. Phy
