Evolution of magnetic field of the Quasar 1604+159 at pc scale

We have analyzed the total intensity, spectral index, linear polarization, and RM distributions at pc scale for the quasar 1604+159. The source was observed in 2002 and 2020 with the VLBA. Combining the MOJAVE results, we studied the evolution of the magnetic field. We detected a core-jet structure. The jet extends to a distance of ~25 mas. The jet shape varies slightly with time. We divided the source structure into the central region and the jet region. In the jet region, we find the polarized emission varies with time. The flatter spectral index values and EVPA direction indicate the possible existence of shocks, contributing to the variation. In the central region, the derived core shift index k_r values indicate that the core in 2002 is close to the equipartition case while deviating from it in 2020. The measured magnetic field strength in 2020 is two orders of magnitude lower than that in 2002. We detected transverse RM gradients, evidence of a helical magnetic field, in the core. At 15 GHz, in the place close to the jet base, the polarization direction changes significantly with time from perpendicular to parallel to the jet direction. The evolution of RM and magnetic field structure are potential reasons for the observed polarization change. The core |RM| in 2020 increases with frequency following a power law with index a = 2.7, suggesting a fast electron density fall-off in the medium with distance from the jet base.Comment: 24 pages, 14 figures, accepted for publication in Ap

Integrative Analysis Reveals Key Circular RNA in Atrial Fibrillation

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are an emerging class of RNA species that may play a critical regulatory role in gene expression control, which can serve as diagnostic biomarkers for many diseases due to their abundant, stable, and cell- or tissue-specific expression. However, the association between circRNAs and atrial fibrillation (AF) is still not clear. In this study, we used RNA sequencing data to identify and quantify the circRNAs. Differential expression analysis of the circRNAs identified 250 up- and 126 down-regulated circRNAs in AF subjects compared with healthy donors, respectively. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis of the parental genes of the dysregulated circRNAs indicated that the up-regulated parental genes may participate in the process of DNA damage under oxidative stress. Furthermore, to annotate the dysregulated circRNAs, we constructed and merged the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network and protein-protein interaction (PPI) network, respectively. In the merged network, 130 of 246 dysregulated circRNAs were successfully characterized by more than one pathway. Notably, the five circRNAs, including chr9:15474007-15490122, chr16:75445723-75448593, hsa_circ_0007256, chr12:56563313-56563992, and hsa_circ_0003533, showed the highest significance by the enrichment analysis, and four of them were enriched in cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction. These dysregulated circRNAs may mainly participate in biological processes of inflammatory response. In conclusion, the present study identified a set of dysregulated circRNAs, and characterized their potential functions, which may be associated with inflammatory responses in AF. To our knowledge, this is the first study to uncover the association between circRNAs and AF, which not only improves our understanding of the roles of circRNAs in AF, but also provides candidates of potentially functional circRNAs for AF researchers

Background aimsB-cell maturation antigen (BCMA)-targeted chimeric antigen receptor-T cell (CAR-T) therapy is used for refractory or relapsed multiple myeloma (r/r MM). However, CAR-T-related tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) has been observed. We aimed to elucidate the incidence, clinical and laboratory characteristics, and prognosis of CAR-T cell-related TLS.MethodsPatients (n=105) with r/r MM treated with BCMA-targeted CAR-T cell therapy were included. Patient characteristics, laboratory parameters, and clinical outcomes were assessed.ResultsEighteen (17.1%) patients developed TLS after BCMA-targeted CAR-T cell therapy. The median time till TLS onset was 8 days. Patients with TLS had steep rise in uric acid (UA), creatinine, and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) within 6 days following CAR-T cell infusion and presented earlier and persistent escalation of cytokines (C-reactive protein [CRP], interleukin-6 [IL-6], interferon-γ [IFN-γ], and ferritin levels). All 18 patients had cytokine release syndrome (CRS), of which 13 (72.2%) developed grade 3–4 CRS. Three of 18 patients (16.7%) developed immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS): two patients with grade 1 ICANS and one with grade 2 ICANS. TLS development had a negative effect on the objective response rate (77.8% in the TLS group vs. 95.4% in the non-TLS group, p<0.01). During the median follow-up of 15.1 months, the median PFS was poorer of patients with TLS (median: 3.4 months in the TLS group vs. 14.7 months in the non-TLS group, p<0.001, hazard ratio [HR]=3.5 [95% confidence interval [CI] 1.5–8.5]). Also, TLS development exhibited significant effects on OS (median: 5.0 months in the TLS group vs. 39.8 months in the non-TLS group, p<0.001, hazard ratio [HR]=3.7 [95% CI 1.3–10.3]). TLS was associated with a higher tumor burden, elevated baseline creatinine and UA levels, severe CRS, pronounced CAR-T cell expansion, and corticosteroid use.ConclusionTLS is a frequently observed CAR-T therapy complication and negatively influences clinical response and prognosis. Close monitoring for TLS should be implemented during CAR-T cell therapy, especially for those at high TLS risk

This paper takes the old district of the east Huan Shi Road area in the Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, as an example. Through field research, resident visits, and expert interviews, the secondary and tertiary indicators in the measurement framework were obtained by combining six years of living experience. The questionnaire was designed through the relationship between the indicators, and a small sample test was conducted to test the results before generating the final questionnaire. The questionnaires were distributed both online and offline, and the data were analysed in conjunction with the Kano model; then, the results were compared with the field research. Based on the perspective of living experience, a sustainable renewal strategy is proposed for the renovation of old neighbourhoods in practice

Research on a Commercial Building Space Traffic Flow Design Based on Post-Occupancy Evaluation

The aim of traffic flow design in commercial building space planning is to create a comfortable, easily accessible, and identifiable spatial structure in a complex and changeable business environment. However, modern commercial building spaces often appear to be inconsistent with the usage requirements after they are put into use. To understand the real experience evaluation of users, this study selects the commercial project “Guangzhou Nanpu Times Commercial Building Space” as its subject. Based on post-occupancy evaluation (POE), this study uses the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to construct an evaluation index system of commercial building space traffic flow. The weights and satisfaction scores of the indexes are calculated through expert interviews and questionnaires to analyze the evaluation and reasons for the commercial building space traffic flow design after using the facilities. We thereby obtain the design points of commercial building space traffic flow to provide a scientific, reasonable, and practical basis for the subsequent design of the same type of traffic flow to drive the prosperity and development of commerce

Energy Efficiency Model Construction of Building Carbon Neutrality Design

We aim to create a feasible quantitative method to calculate the energy efficiency of building designs that are carbon-neutral and to develop a workable way of calculating energy efficiency in buildings that achieve carbon neutrality and the system for such a building’s design energy efficiency function. This paper first clarifies the idea of the design energy efficiency function for a carbon-neutral building over its whole life cycle. Subsequently, through the efficient analysis of carbon-neutral design dimension measures, this paper summarizes and integrates the mature theories of various disciplines, puts forward the energy efficiency function model of carbon-neutral design background, propulsion, and coverage, and implements the energy efficiency function model of carbon-neutral design in the whole life cycle of buildings. The index value of a building’s carbon emission factor is established based on the carbon accounting factor published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and a carbon neutrality energy efficiency model for buildings over the duration of their whole life cycle is constructed. The results were as follows. 1. Technology energy efficiency is far better than scale energy efficiency and comprehensive energy efficiency. 2. The better the energy efficiency value inside the building stage, the less consumption and the higher the production. 3. Construction is when technical energy is used the least. This paper refers to a systematic design method that makes the level of building carbon neutrality design technologically advanced with the aid of all types of big data related to the building life cycle and various innovative design theories in order to fully represent the fundamental level, development potential, and the effectiveness of choosing the strategy of building carbon neutrality
