The early warning of landslides is crucial in mitigating the losses caused by frequent and abrupt landslide disasters along the railway. The scientific construction of an evaluation model is pivotal in conducting a comprehensive landslide hazard assessment. Using a railway section in Ya’an City as a case study, an improved Stacking model was developed to assess landslide hazard by selecting eight evaluation factors and employing support vector machines, random forests, K-neighborhood, and naive Bayesian learning. Logical regression was utilized as a meta learning tool to evaluate the model’s performance. To address the issue of a limited number of input samples for the meta learner, the proposed approach incorporates reduced dimensionality data from the original dataset as input for the meta learner. This is based on the output of the base learner, resulting in the establishment of an improved Stacking model. The ROC curve is used to verify the accuracy of the model, compare the accuracy of the Stacking model and the single model before and after the improvement, and generate the risk zoning map of the study area. The results show that the AUCs of support vector machines, random forests, and stacking models are 0.8068, 0.8203, and 0.8368 , respectively, with good performance, while the accuracy of the improved stacking model reaches 0.8806 . A reference for the prevention and management of geological catastrophes, the accuracy of the landslide hazard zoning map created using ArcGIS in the research area has reached 0.853 , which is essentially compatible with the real distribution

The B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling pathway has gained significant attention as a therapeutic target in B-cell malignancies. Recently, several drugs that target the BCR signaling pathway, especially the Btk inhibitor ibrutinib, have demonstrated notable therapeutic effects in relapsed/refractory patients, which indicates that pharmacological inhibition of BCR pathway holds promise in B-cell lymphoma treatment. Here we present a novel covalent irreversible Btk inhibitor PLS-123 with more potent anti-proliferative activity compared with ibrutinib in multiple cellular and in vivo models through effective apoptosis induction and dual-action inhibitory mode of Btk activation. The phosphorylation of BCR downstream activating AKT/mTOR and MAPK signal pathways was also more significantly reduced after treatment with PLS-123 than ibrutinib. Gene expression profile analysis further suggested that the different selectivity profile of PLS-123 led to significant downregulation of oncogenic gene PTPN11 expression, which might also offer new opportunities beyond what ibrutinib has achieved. In addition, PLS-123 dose-dependently attenuated BCR- and chemokine-mediated lymphoma cell adhesion and migration. Taken together, Btk inhibitor PLS-123 suggested a new direction to pharmacologically modulate Btk function and develop novel therapeutic drug for B-cell lymphoma treatment

Influence of Polishing Methods on the Bonding Effectiveness and Durability of Different Resin Cements to Dentin

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of polishing methods on the bonding effectiveness and durability of different resin cements to dentin. The dentin surfaces were either treated with a fine-grit diamond bur (polishing A) or further polished by polishing disks (polishing B), and then they were bonded with any one of the three resin cements, namely, etch-and-rinse, self-etch, and self-adhesive resin cements. After 24-hour or 2-year water storage, a microtensile bond strength (ÎĽTBS) test was performed. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to observe the morphology of the smear layer as well as the resin-dentin bonding interface. The results indicated that a thinner smear layer thickness was created by polishing B compared with polishing A. Although self-etch and self-adhesive resin cements achieved a relatively high primary bond strength before water degradation, etch-and-rinse resin cement obtained a stable bond strength during water degradation. The application of an additional polishing procedure could improve the bond strength of self-etch and self-adhesive resin cements

In this paper firefly optimization algorithm is improved, including the method of relative firefly fluorescence brightness, the method of attraction and the method of firefly position update. The dynamic step size factor and dynamic difference factor are introduced, and the improved firefly algorithm is used to optimize the particle filter, so that the particle swarm can be concentrated to the high likelihood region as much as possible, so as to ensure the overall quality of the particle swarm. In this paper, the most commonly used non-maximum suppression algorithm in the post-processing stage of target detection model is discussed. The original YOLOv5 model and the fusion model of nonlinear filtering and YOLOv5 were respectively used to simulate the two data sets after data enhancement. Some mainstream object detection models and the improved model in this paper are analyzed experimentally in two datasets. In dataset 1, the small increase in mAP value is the addition of CBAM's attention module, which increases by 2.8%. For data set 2, when the original Focal loss was replaced by VFLoss, the mAP increased to 89.8%, an increase of 0.95%. For the case where all the improvements were added, the mAP value increased by 7%

A complex pattern with hexagonal lattice and white-eye stripe in dielectric barrier discharge

Abstract A novel type of white-eye pattern in a dielectric barrier discharge system has been investigated in this paper. It is a superposition of a hexagonal lattice and a white-eye stripe in appearance and evolves from a white-eye square grid state with the applied voltage increasing. Its spatio-temporal dynamics obtained by an intensified charge-coupled device shows that it consists of three transient rectangular sublattices. The spatiotemporally resolved evolutions of the molecular vibrational temperature and electron density of the pattern are measured by optical emission spectra. The evolution of surface charge distribution is given and its effect on the self-organized pattern formation is discussed

Successful live birth in a Chinese woman with P450 oxidoreductase deficiency through frozen-thawed embryo transfer: a case report with review of the literature

Abstract Background Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) caused by P450 oxidoreductase deficiency (PORD) in 46, XX patients is characterized by genital ambiguity, primary amenorrhea, absent or incomplete sexual maturation, infertility, skeletal malformations and so on. But few pregnancies have been reported from these female patients with PORD. Case description A 29-year-old Chinese woman with PORD due to the compound heterozygous mutation (c.1370G > A/c.1196_1204del) in the P450 oxidoreductase (POR) gene had suffered from primary amenorrhea and infertility. She had one cancelled cycle of ovulation induction due to low serum estradiol(E2), high progesterone(P) levels and thin endometrium, then in vitro fertilization (IVF) was recommended. At the first IVF cycle, 4 oocytes were retrieved and 4 viable embryos were cryopreserved due to thin endometrium associated with low E2 and prematurely elevated P after ovarian stimulation, even though oral dexamethasone were used to control adrenal P overproduction at the same time. When basal P fell to < 1.5 ng/ml after the therapy of oral dexamethasone, artificial endometrial preparation and frozen embryo transfer were performed, resulting in a twin pregnancy. She delivered a healthy boy and a healthy girl by caesarean section at 37 weeks and 2 days of gestation. After the literature search in PORD women, no spontaneous pregnancy has been reported and only two previous case reports of 3 successful pregnancies through IVF were summarized. Conclusions It is the third report that successful pregnancy was achieved in a CAH woman caused by a compound heterozygous POR mutation, with primary amenorrhea and disorders of steroidogenesis. It seemed that disorders of steroidogenesis caused by PORD didn’t impair the developmental potential of oocytes. IVF and frozen embryo transfer after adequate hormonal control and endometrial preparation should be an effective infertility treatment for PORD women

Case reports of collision and composite carcinomas of the thyroid: an insight into their origin and clinical significance

Abstract Background Collision and composite carcinomas of the thyroid are extremely rare, and their clinical and biological characteristics are poorly understood. Case presentation The first case was a 41-year-old female patient with a right thyroid nodule. Pathological diagnosis was papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and medullary thyroid carcinoma composite carcinoma. Surgical treatment was right thyroid lobectomy + left partial thyroidectomy + right central neck lymph node dissection. The second case was a 60-year-old female with bilateral thyroid nodules. Total thyroidectomy was performed, and the pathological diagnosis was thyroid collision carcinoma involving follicular thyroid carcinoma on the left side and PTC on the right side. Summary The clinical, histological and gene changes of collision and composite carcinomas of the thyroid are poorly described. With different biological invasion characteristics, the ideal treatment and the prognosis is currently unknown and individualized treatment is necessary. Conclusions It is recommended that in composite carcinoma, each cancer is evaluated and treated according to the most severe tumor. Collision carcinoma should be treated as two separate synchronous primary tumors. For both collision and composite carcinomas of the thyroid, the follow-up after treatment should be extensive

PTPN22 Gene Polymorphisms Are Associated with Susceptibility to Large Artery Atherosclerotic Stroke and Microembolic Signals

Large artery atherosclerotic stroke (LAAS) is the most common ischemic stroke (IS) subtype, and microemboli may be clinically important for indicating increased risk of IS. The inflammatory process of atherosclerosis is well known, and lymphoid phosphatase (Lyp), which is encoded by the protein tyrosine phosphatase nonreceptor type 22 (PTPN22) gene, plays an important role in the inflammatory response. Our study was intended to evaluate the relationship between PTPN22 gene and LAAS and microembolic signals (MES). Three loci of the PTPN22 gene (rs2476599, rs1217414, and rs2488457) were analyzed in 364 LAAS patients and 369 control subjects. A genotyping determination was performed using the TaqMan assay. The G allele of rs2488457 might be related to a higher risk for developing LAAS and MES (odds ratio OR=1.456, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.156-1.833, P=0.001; OR=1.652, 95% CI 1.177-2.319, P=0.004, respectively). In the LAAS group, the prevalence of the GTG haplotype was higher (P<0.001) and the prevalence of the GCC haplotype was lower (P=0.001). An interaction analysis of rs2488457 with smoking showed that smokers with the CG/GG genotypes had a higher risk of LAAS, compared to nonsmokers with the rs2488457 CC genotype (OR=2.492, 95% CI 1.510–4.114, P<0.001). Our research indicated that the PTPN22 rs2488457 might be related to the occurrence of LAAS and MES in the Han Chinese population. In addition, the rs2488457 polymorphism and the environmental factor of smoking jointly influenced the susceptibility of LAAS
