This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Cake application in students' speaking skills. The method used in this research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. In collecting data, the researcher used an oral test by providing an instruction sheet and a guide as an instrument. The tests were pre-test which was given before the treatment and posttest which was given after the treatment. Then, the data obtained were analyzed by using t-test in SPSS 16 with 5% (0.05) significance level. Further, the researcher found that the mean score of post-test in experimental class was higher than controlled class (71.20 > 66.00). The t-test result also presents that t count (2.171) was higher than the t tablein the significance level 5% (0.05). Because the value of P (sig.) -tailed= 0,036 < 0.05. This means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that the mean post-test scores of the experimental class students and the control class students are not the same (different). Thus, Cake application has significant effect on the students’speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMK PGRI Sook
