Degrees of Freedom of Full-Duplex Multiantenna Cellular Networks
We study the degrees of freedom (DoF) of cellular networks in which a full
duplex (FD) base station (BS) equipped with multiple transmit and receive
antennas communicates with multiple mobile users. We consider two different
scenarios. In the first scenario, we study the case when half duplex (HD)
users, partitioned to either the uplink (UL) set or the downlink (DL) set,
simultaneously communicate with the FD BS. In the second scenario, we study the
case when FD users simultaneously communicate UL and DL data with the FD BS.
Unlike conventional HD only systems, inter-user interference (within the cell)
may severely limit the DoF, and must be carefully taken into account. With the
goal of providing theoretical guidelines for designing such FD systems, we
completely characterize the sum DoF of each of the two different FD cellular
networks by developing an achievable scheme and obtaining a matching upper
bound. The key idea of the proposed scheme is to carefully allocate UL and DL
information streams using interference alignment and beamforming techniques. By
comparing the DoFs of the considered FD systems with those of the conventional
HD systems, we establish the DoF gain by enabling FD operation in various
configurations. As a consequence of the result, we show that the DoF can
approach the two-fold gain over the HD systems when the number of users becomes
large enough as compared to the number of antennas at the BS.Comment: 21 pages, 16 figures, a shorter version of this paper has been

Global performance analysis of floating harbor and container ship for loading and offloading operation
The feasibility and general performance of a floating harbor system is studied with regard to the
relative motion of a floating quay and a container ship. A 350[m]× 160[m] box-type barge is
selected as the floating harbor and it is positioned by a dolphin mooring system. The container
ship is tied to the land wall by hawsers. The hydrodynamic interactions between floating bodies
and a fixed quay wall in close proximity with a side-by-side arrangement are investigated. A
three dimensional wave-body diffraction/radiation panel program WAMIT is used for the
calculation of hydrodynamic information and response amplitude operators (RAO) of the three
bodies in frequency domain. Subsequently, the vessel-mooring coupled dynamic analysis
program WINPOST is employed to produce motion time histories in time domain. The
frequency-domain RAO is successfully compared with time-domain RAO in case viscous forces
are neglected. Compared to Brajesh Kumar’s (2005) study, 12×12 full hydrodynamic
interactions between the two floating bodies are included and dynamic wind loading is
considered in addition to wave and current loadings. All the relative motion statistics are
calculated from the respective motion time histories for a typical operational condition and a
typical survival condition. The relative motion between the interacting bodies is small in the
operational condition to ensure the efficacy of container loading and offloading operation from
both sides of the ship while the loading and offloading operation is not available in the survival
condition
TESTING OF ROTATIONAL EXERCISE EQUIPMENT TO IMPROVE THE VESTIBULAR SYSTEM
The primary purpose of this study was to test the effect of training using the rotational exercise equipment developed in this study on the improvement of the vestibular system. In order to test the rotational exercise equipment developed in this study, 15 ordinary college students had trainings for 8 weeks and their nystagmus intensity was analyzed. The findings showed that the rotational training using the rotational exercise equipment affected vestibular balance, as it significantly decreased the slow phase velocity (SPV) immediately after rotational stimulation and reduced the recovery time of nystagmus to normal
Cardiac Angiosarcoma on the Right Atrium: Two Cases
We detected two cases of right atrial angiosarcoma that had a similar appearance on imaging studies. Although the surgical findings were similar for the two patients, one had a clear resection margin, while the other had tumor cells in the resection margin on frozen biopsy. We suggest that preoperative data on magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography in patients with angiosarcomas may not predict the exact extent of surgical resection or prognostic outcomes
To the Edge of M87 and Beyond: Spectroscopy of Intracluster Globular Clusters and Ultra Compact Dwarfs in the Virgo Cluster
We present the results from a wide-field spectroscopic survey of globular
clusters (GCs) in the Virgo Cluster. We obtain spectra for 201 GCs and 55
ultracompact dwarfs (UCDs) using the Hectospec on the Multiple Mirror
Telescope, and derive their radial velocities. We identify 46 genuine
intracluster GCs (IGCs), not associated with any Virgo galaxies, using the 3D
GMM test on the spatial and radial velocity distribution.They are located at
the projected distance 200 kpc R 500 kpc from the center
of M87. The radial velocity distribution of these IGCs shows two peaks, one at
= 1023 km s associated with the Virgo main body, and another
at = 36 km s associated with the infalling structure. The
velocity dispersion of the IGCs in the Virgo main body is 314 km s, which is smoothly connected to the velocity dispersion
profile of M87 GCs, but much lower than that of dwarf galaxies in the same
survey field, 608 km s. The UCDs are more
centrally concentrated on massive galaxies, M87, M86, and M84. The radial
velocity dispersion of the UCD system is much smaller than that of dwarf
galaxies. Our results confirm the large-scale distribution of Virgo IGCs
indicated by previous photometric surveys. The color distribution of the
confirmed IGCs shows a bimodality similar to that of M87 GCs. This indicates
that most IGCs are stripped off from dwarf galaxies and some from massive
