Aspects of Warped AdS/CFT Correspondence
In this paper we apply the thermodynamics method to investigate the
holographic pictures for the BTZ black hole, the spacelike and the null warped
black holes in three-dimensional topologically massive gravity (TMG) and new
massive gravity (NMG). Even though there are higher derivative terms in these
theories, the thermodynamics method is still effective. It gives consistent
results with the ones obtained by using asymptotical symmetry group (ASG)
analysis. In doing the ASG analysis we develop a brute-force realization of the
Barnich-Brandt-Compere formalism with Mathematica code, which also allows us to
calculate the masses and the angular momenta of the black holes. In particular,
we propose the warped AdS/CFT correspondence in the new massive
gravity, which states that quantum gravity in the warped spacetime could
holographically dual to a two-dimensional CFT with
c_R=c_L=\f{24}{Gm\b^2\sr{2(21-4\b^2)}}.Comment: 22 pages, references added, published version, link of Mathematica

Performance Indicators for Training Module Curriculum of Long Term Care
Due to the wide service scopes of elderly in need of care, including medical care, personal caring, social care, and others, the inputs of different professional knowledge are necessary in order to provide the integration of case evaluation and resource management. The training of these professional care givers should be extended to formal educational, including in professional course model and further assist those interested in active integration of theories and practices. This paper uses courses analysis and resource management as core competence to structure the work contents of long term care services, then using this information to design cross professional course content
Behaviour of Corroded Stud Shear Connectors under Fatigue Loading
Experimental investigation was conducted on corroded composite push-out specimens to study the behavior of shear studs subjected to fatigue loading. A total of eight standard EC4 push-out specimens were tested. The expected corrosion rate of test specimens ranged from 0 to 50%. The main purpose of these tests was to determine the fatigue life and the reduction effect caused by the corrosion on the fatigue life. The effect of corrosion on the fatigue crack, load-slip curves, and failure modes was also studied. In addition, the test results were compared with current Eurocode design predictions, which is only for specimen without corrosion. It is shown that the current Eurocode design predictions are quite conservative for the test specimens in this study. Design equations were also proposed for fatigue life of corroded composite push-out specimens
Noise in Genotype Selection Model
We study the steady state properties of a genotype selection model in
presence of correlated Gaussian white noise. The effect of the noise on the
genotype selection model is discussed. It is found that correlated noise can
break the balance of gene selection and induce the phase transition which can
makes us select one type gene haploid from a gene group.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figure
Effect of Corrosion on the Shear Transfer Behavior of Stud Shear Connectors
The effect of corrosion on the shear transfer behavior of stud shear connectors was investigated in this study. Experimental investigation was performed using an innovative test setup for single stud shear connector. Two series of specimens having different stud diameters were fabricated and tested. The test specimens were firstly corroded to different corrosion rates by electronic accelerating method. Loading test were then performed to obtain the load-slip curves and ultimate strengths of corroded test specimens. Corrosion rates were measured from the studs obtained from the failure test specimens. Test results were compared with standard push out test specimens having the similar corrosion rates. It is shown that the test results obtained from the single stud shear connectors are conservative compared with the corroded push test specimens, which prove the validation of single stud shear connector test method. The effect of corrosion on the shear transfer behavior of stud shear connectors was also presented
Characteristics of Medial-Lateral Postural Control While Exposed to the External Perturbation in Step Initiation
Controllability of posture in the medial-lateral direction is critical for balance maintenance, particularly in step initiation. The objective of the current study was to examine the effects of external perturbation and landing orientation on medial-lateral control stability in step initiation. Eleven young healthy participants stood on the force platform and waited for the instruction of taking a step while experiencing a pendulum perturbation applied at the lateral side of the right shoulder. Eight experimental conditions were conducted by two levels of step side (right or left), two levels of perturbation (with or without), and two levels of landing orientation (forward or diagonal). The center of pressure (COP), pelvic movements, and muscle activities were recorded and analyzed as the onset of COP and pelvic movement, the COP displacement, and cocontraction and reciprocal muscle activation pattern. The temporal events of COP and pelvic movement were not significantly different in all experimental conditions. However, COP and pelvic movement were significantly later in the diagonal condition. Most of the segments showed reciprocal muscle activation patterns in relation to the perturbation released time. Subsequently, all segments showed cocontraction muscle activation patterns, which was significantly affected by step side, perturbation, and orientation. The results suggest that how the CNS initiated a step was identical with the COP then pelvic movement. The outcome highlights the importance of external perturbation and foot landing orientation effects on postural adjustments, which may provide a different approach to help step initiation
Current Reversals in a inhomogeneous system with asymmetric unbiased fluctuations
We present a study of transport of a Brownian particle moving in periodic
symmetric potential in the presence of asymmetric unbiased fluctuations. The
particle is considered to move in a medium with periodic space dependent
friction. By tuning the parameters of the system, the direction of current
exhibit reversals, both as a function of temperature as well as the amplitude
of rocking force. We found that the mutual interplay between the opposite
driving factors is the necessary term for current reversals.Comment: 9 pages, 7 figure
