    W±H∓W^{\pm}H^{\mp} associated production at LHC in the general 2HDM with Spontaneous CP Violation

    Spontaneous CP violation motivates the introduction of two Higgs doublets in the electroweak theory. Such a simple extension of the standard model has three neutral Higgs bosons and a pair charged Higgs, especially it leads to rich CP-violating sources including the induced Kobayashi-Maskawa CP-violating phase, the mixing of the neutral Higgs bosons due to the CP-odd Higgs and the effective complex Yukawa couplings of the charged and neutral Higgs bosons. Within this model, we present the production of a charged Higgs boson in association with a W boson at the LHC, and calculate in detail the cross section and the transverse momentum distribution of the associated W boson.Comment: 16 pages, 6 figures, omitted 3 figures, motivations for Type III 2HDM with SCPV is emphasized, to be published in PR

    Production mechanisms and single-spin asymmetry for kaons in high energy hadron-hadron collisions

    Direct consequences on kaon production of the picture proposed in a recent Letter and subsequent publications are discussed. Further evidence supporting the proposed picture is obtained. Comparison with the data for the inclusive cross sections in unpolarized reactions is made.     Hyperon polarization in e^-p --> e^-HK with polarized electron beams

    We apply the picture proposed in a recent Letter for transverse hyperon polarization in unpolarized hadron-hadron collisions to the exclusive process e^-p --> e^-HK such as e^-p-->e^-\Lambda K^+, e^-p --> e^-\Sigma^+ K^0, or e^-p--> e^-\Sigma^0 K^+, or the similar process e^-p\to e^-n\pi^+ with longitudinally polarized electron beams. We present the predictions for the longitudinal polarizations of the hyperons or neutron in these reactions, which can be used as further tests of the picture.Comment: 15 pages, 2 figures. submitted to Phys.     Discussions on Stability of Diquarks

    Since the birth of the quark model, the diquark which is composed of two quarks has been considered as a substantial structure of color anti-triplet. This is not only a mathematical simplification for dealing with baryons, but also provides a physical picture where the diquark would behave as a whole object. It is natural to ask whether such a structure is sufficiently stable against external disturbance. The mass spectra of the ground states of the scalar and axial-vector diquarks which are composed of two-light (L-L), one-light-one-heavy (H-L) and two-heavy quarks (H-H) respectively have been calculated in terms of the QCD sum rules. We suggest a criterion as the quantitative standard for the stability of the diquark. It is the gap between the masses of the diquark and s0\sqrt{s_0} where s0s_0 is the threshold of the excited states and continuity, namely the larger the gap is, the more stable the diquark would be. In this work, we calculate the masses of the type H-H to complete the series of the spectra of the ground state diquarks. However, as the criterion being taken, we find that all the gaps for the various diquaks are within a small range, especially the gap for the diquark with two heavy quarks which is believed to be a stable structure, is slightly smaller than that for other two types of diquarks, therefore we conclude that because of the large theoretical uncertainty, we cannot use the numerical results obtained with the QCD sum rules to assess the stability of diquarks, but need to invoke other theoretical framework.Comment: 14 pages, 4 figure

    Catalyst-free spontaneous polymerization with 100% atom economy: facile synthesis of photoresponsive polysulfonates with multifunctionalities

    Photoresponsive polymers have attracted extensive attention due to their tunable functionalities and advanced applications; thus, it is significant to develop facile in situ synthesis strategies, extend polymers family, and establish various applications for photoresponsive polymers. Herein, we develop a catalyst-free spontaneous polymerization of dihaloalkynes and disulfonic acids without photosensitive monomers for the in situ synthesis of photoresponsive polysulfonates at room temperature in air with 100% atom economy in high yields. The resulting polysulfonates could undergo visible photodegradation with strong photoacid generation, leading to various applications including dual-emissive or 3D photopatterning, and practical broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. The halogen-rich polysulfonates also exhibit a high and photoswitched refractive index and could undergo efficient postfunctionalizations to further expand the variety and functionality of photoresponsive heteroatom-containing polyesters

    Computational Study on the Steady-state Impedance of Saturated-core Superconducting Fault Current Limiter

    AbstractThis paper presents the electromagnetic analysis of a high voltage saturated-core superconducting fault current limiter (SCSFCL). The numerical analyses of a three-dimensional (3D) model is shown, and the specific parameters are given. The model focus on the steady-state impedance of the limiter when connected to the power grid. It analyzed the dependence of steady-state impedance on the AC coil current, and the relationship between oil gap and coil inductance. The results suggest that, adding oil gap between slice of silicon steel can reduce the core cross-section, restrain the ultraharmonic and decrease the steady-state impedance. As the core cross-section of AC limb decreased from 4344 cm2 to 3983 cm2, the total harmonic distortion for voltage decreased from 2.4% to 1.8%, and the impedance decreased from 1.082Ω to 1.069Ω(Idc=400A,Iac=1296A)
