AbstractIn order to reduce roof-floor blind area of hydrofracture in underground mines, expand influenced range of fracturing, improve the effect of hydrofracture, a pressure relief and permeability increase model of hydraulic fracturing was built on the basis of analysing the mechanism of crack initiation and the characteristics of fracture development. After discussing the mechanism of directional hydraulic fracturing and carrying out related numerical simulation, a directional hydraulic fracturing technique was proposed. The coal fracture development distribution rule in the process of directional hydraulic fracturing was analysed, and the directional hydraulic fracturing technique was applied in the F15-31010 mining workface of The Twelfth Coal of Pingdingshan Coal Mining Group. The results show that single-drill hole fracturing effective radius rise to 6m under the pressure of 27Mpa, which is 3-5 times more than before, and the average concentration of single-drill hole gas drainage promote to 87.5%, average flow up 55.6% than no-directional hydraulic fracturing. All these suggest that the technology obtains remarkable effect, and has a high application value

On the Quintessence with Abelian and Non-abelian Symmetry

We study the perturbations on both "radial" and "angular" components of the quintessence with an internal abelian and non-abelian symmetry. The properties of the perturbation on the "radial" component depend on the specific potential of the model and is similiar for both abelian and non-abelian case. We show that the consine-type potential is very interesting for the O(\textit{N}) quintessence model and also give a critical condition of instability for the potential. While the properties of perturbations on "angular" components depend on whether the internal symmetry is abelian or non-abelian, which we have discussed respectively. In the non-abelian case, the fluctuation of the "angular" component will increase rapidly with time while in the abelian case it will not.Comment: 15 pages, to be published in Int. J. Mod. Phys.

    Simple parameter-free self-attention approximation

The hybrid model of self-attention and convolution is one of the methods to lighten ViT. The quadratic computational complexity of self-attention with respect to token length limits the efficiency of ViT on edge devices. We propose a self-attention approximation without training parameters, called SPSA, which captures global spatial features with linear complexity. To verify the effectiveness of SPSA combined with convolution, we conduct extensive experiments on image classification and object detection tasks

Diapause is a form of dormancy used by many insects to survive adverse environmental conditions, which can occur in specific developmental stages in different species. Drosophila suzukii is a serious economic pest and we determined the conditions for adult reproductive diapause by the females in our previous studies. In this study, we combined RNA-Seq transcriptomic and quantitative proteomic analyses to identify adult reproductive diapause-related genes and proteins. According to the transcriptomic analysis, among 242 annotated differentially expressed genes in non-diapause and diapause females, 129 and 113 genes were up- and down-regulated, respectively. In addition, among the 2,375 proteins quantified, 39 and 23 proteins were up- and down-regulated, respectively. The gene expression patterns in diapause- and non-diapause were confirmed by qRT-PCR or western blot analysis. The overall analysis of robustly regulated genes at the protein and mRNA levels found four genes that overlapped in the up-regulated group and six genes in the down-regulated group, and thus these proteins/genes may regulate adult reproductive diapause. These differentially expressed proteins/genes act in the citrate cycle, insulin signaling pathway, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, and amino acid biosynthesis pathways. These results provide the basis for further studies of the molecular regulation of reproductive diapause in this species

Structure and Failure Mechanism of the Thermoelectric CoSb_3/TiCoSb Interface

The brittle behavior and low strength of CoSb_3/TiCoSb interface are serious issues concerning the engineering applications of CoSb_3 based or CoSb_3/TiCoSb segmented thermoelectric devices. To illustrate the failure mechanism of the CoSb_3/TiCoSb interface, we apply density functional theory to investigate the interfacial behavior and examine the response during tensile deformations. We find that both CoSb_3(100)/TiCoSb(111) and CoSb_3(100)/TiCoSb(110) are energetically favorable interfacial structures. Failure of the CoSb_3/TiCoSb interface occurs in CoSb_3 since the structural stiffness of CoSb_3 is much weaker than that of TiCoSb. This failure within CoSb_3 can be explained through the softening of the Sb–Sb bond along with the cleavage of the Co–Sb bond in the interface. The failure mechanism the CoSb_3/TiCoSb interface is similar to that of bulk CoSb_3, but the ideal tensile strength and failure strain of the CoSb_3/TiCoSb interface are much lower than those of bulk CoSb_3. This can be attributed to the weakened stiffness of the Co–Sb framework due to structural rearrangement near the interfacial region

p-Type Co Interstitial Defects in Thermoelectric Skutterudite CoSb_3 Due to the Breakage of Sb_4-Rings

Skutterudite CoSb_3 based thermoelectric devices have high potential for engineering applications because both n- and p-type doped CoSb_3 demonstrate excellent thermoelectric performance. A crucial point concerning the application of CoSb_3 is to understand and control its defect chemistry. To reveal the native conductivity behavior of nonstoichiometric CoSb_3, we investigated the intrinsic point defects in CoSb_3 using density functional theory. We found CoSb_3 is p-type in either Co or Sb rich regions of phase stability. Interstitial Co (Co_i) and interstitial Co-pair (Co_(i-p)) are the dominant point defects in the Co rich region. However, Co_(i-p) will be difficult to form because the formation temperature of Co_(i-p) is much lower than the synthesis temperature of CoSb_3. The unexpected acceptor nature of the Co_i or Co_(i-p) defects is explained by the breakage of multiple Sb_4-rings. Co vacancy (Co_v) is found to be the p-type defect in the Sb rich region. Furthermore, the solubility of excess Co in CoSb_3 is expected to be larger than that of Sb because of the lower formation energy and higher carrier concentration of Co_i compared with those of Co_v

Pregnancy outcomes in infertile patients with endometrial hyperplasia with or without atypia undergoing in vitro fertilization: the early-follicular long protocol is superior to midluteal long protocol

BackgroundAlthough in vitro fertilization (IVF) in infertile patients with endometrial hyperplasia is common after drug treatment, the pregnancy outcomes are often unsatisfactory. Till date, no studies have reported the outcome of patients with endometrial hyperplasia treated using early-follicular long (EL) protocol and midluteal long (ML) protocol.ObjectiveTo evaluate the pregnancy outcomes and disease prognosis of patients with endometrial hyperplasia with or without atypia undergoing IVF treatment with EL protocol or ML protocol.MethodsThis was a retrospective study in university-affiliated reproductive medical center. A total of 138 patients with endometrial hyperplasia undergoing IVF treatment were included to compare the pregnancy outcomes and disease prognosis between EL and ML protocols. We further matched 276 patients with normal endometrium to compare the pregnancy outcomes between patients with endometrial hyperplasia and patients with normal endometrium under different controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) protocol.ResultsIn patients with endometrial hyperplasia, the clinical pregnancy rate (CPR) and live birth rate (LBR) were significantly higher in EL protocol than in ML protocol (61.8% vs. 43.5%, P=0.032; 50.0% vs. 30.6%, P= 0.022). In the ML protocol, patients with endometrial hyperplasia had significantly lower CPR and LBR than those with normal endometrium (43.5% vs. 59.7%, P=0.037; 30.6% vs. 49.2%, P=0.016). While in the EL protocol, they achieved similar CPR and LBR as patients with normal endometrium (61.8% vs. 69.7%, P=0.232; 50.0% vs. 59.9%, P=0.156). In patients with endometrial hyperplasia, COS protocol was an independent factor affecting clinical pregnancy (adjusted odds ratio [OR] 2.479; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.154-5.327) and live birth (adjusted OR 2.730; 95% CI 1.249-5.966). After 1–10 years of follow-up, no significant difference was found in the recurrence rate of endometrial lesions between both treatment groups.ConclusionsFor patients with endometrial hyperplasia undergoing IVF treatment, the EL protocol is superior to ML protocol, and in the EL protocol, they can achieve similar pregnancy outcomes as patients with normal endometrium
