    Molybdenum pincer complexes: synthesis and application in catalytic hydrogenations

    The present thesis describes the synthesis of novel molybdenum pincer complexes and their application as catalysts for the homogeneous hydrogenation of unsaturated organic molecules. PNP-type pincer ligands with aliphatic backbones were a focal point in this respect. A synthetic methodology for the preparation of related organometallic compounds was developed, giving access to diverse Mo(0), Mo(I) and Mo(II) compounds. The reported complexes were subsequently applied for the catalytic hydrogenation of ketones, styrenes, N-methylated formanilides as well as aromatic and aliphatic nitriles.Die vorliegende Arbeit beschreibt die Synthese neuer Molybdän-Pincer-Komplexe und deren Anwendung als Katalysatoren für die homogenkatalytische Hydrierung ungesättigter organischer Verbindungen. PNP-Pincerliganden mit aliphatischem Ligandenrückgrat standen hierbei im Fokus. Es wurde eine Synthesestrategie zur Herstellungen solcher Komplexverbindungen entwickelt und so verschiedenen Mo(0)-, Mo(I)- und Mo(II)-Komplexen erhalten. Diese wurden nachfolgend für die katalytische Hydrierung von Ketonen, Styrolen, N-methylierten Formaniliden sowie aromatischen und aliphatischen Nitrilen angewendet

    Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o měření posunů na znojemském železničním viaduktu. Prostřednictvím dvou měřických metod, a to prostorové polární metody a kinematické GNSS Stop & Go metody, byly měřeny polohové a výškové změny železničního svršku a mostní konstrukce nově rekonstruovaného mostu. V práci je kladen důraz na posouzení podélných posunů v závislosti na atmosférických podmínkách – zejména teplotních – a posouzení přesností obou nezávislých měřických metod.This bachelor thesis is about measuring deformations on railway bridge in Znojmo. The horizontal and vertical changes of railway track on the bridge and newly renovated bridge construction were measured by using two independent methods, namely 3D polar method and kinematic GNSS Stop & Go method. The assessment of the longitudinal shifts depending on atmospheric conditions especially the temperature changes is an essential goal of this work. Another key aim is the determination of precision of both independ-ent measuring methods.

    Formalin-Induced Fluorescence Reveals Cell Shape and Morphology in Biological Tissue Samples

    Ultramicroscopy is a powerful tool to reveal detailed three-dimensional structures of large microscopical objects. Using high magnification, we observed that formalin induces fluorescence more in extra-cellular space and stains cellular structures negatively, rendering cells as dark objects in front of a bright background. Here, we show this effect on a three-dimensional image stack of a hippocampus sample, focusing on the CA1 region. This method, called FIF-Ultramicroscopy, allows for the three-dimensional observation of cellular structures in various tissue types without complicated staining techniques

    Exploring Yoga as a Holistic Lifestyle for Sustainable Human and Environmental Health

    Improved health indicators, mental and physical health outcomes, and sustainable lifestyle practices have been found among yoga practitioners. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of mixed styles of yoga practice on the health and behaviors of yoga practitioners. The relationship between yoga and body mass index (BMI), self-reported disease diagnosis, participation in other types of physical activity, adoption of healthy and sustainable lifestyle and dietary behaviors, perceived improvements in medical conditions that yoga was used to treat, quality of life resulting from yoga practice, and the reasons for beginning and continuing yoga were observed and tested in this study. Participants (N = 383) were adult yoga practitioners who were recruited using systematic sampling in Facebook social media. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, ANOVA, McNemar Chi square, and Spearman\u27s correlation. Mean BMI for all yoga styles were in the normal range; however, ashtanga yoga was a significant predictor of low BMI. Self-reported disease diagnosis was significantly lower after beginning yoga practice. The majority of participants also engaged in other types of physical activity and adopted many healthy lifestyle practices. However, general/hatha and other styles of yoga were associated with adopting a greater number of other physical activities and general/hatha, ashtanga, and yoga therapy styles were associated with adopting a greater number of healthy and sustainable lifestyle and dietary behaviors. Medical conditions that yoga was used to treat and quality of life were perceived to be improved as a result of yoga practice. Results of this study confirm previous research findings that demonstrate numerous positive health outcomes from yoga practice
