Synthesis and Characterization of Magnetic Metal-encapsulated Multi-walled Carbon Nanobeads
A novel, cost-effective, easy and single-step process for the synthesis of large quantities of magnetic metal-encapsulated multi-walled carbon nanobeads (MWNB) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) using catalytic chemical vapour deposition of methane over Mischmetal-based AB3alloy hydride catalyst is presented. The growth mechanism of metal-encapsulated MWNB and MWNT has been discussed based on the catalytically controlled root-growth mode. These carbon nanostructures have been characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM and HRTEM), energy dispersive analysis of X-ray (EDAX) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Magnetic properties of metal-filled nanobeads have been studied using PAR vibrating sample magnetometer up to a magnetic field of 10 kOe, and the results have been compared with those of metal-filled MWNT
AN ASSESSMENT ON BUCCAL MUCOADHESIVE DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM
Buccal drug delivery system (BDDS) has won a variety of exposure and traction as it possesses plenty of advantages and benefits as evaluate to different mucosal drug delivery systems. Buccal path for systemic drug delivery, the use of mucoadhesive polymers twill significantly increase the efficacy of many tablets, has been of outstanding interest over the previous couple of decades. This article affords a precise of BDDS mechanisms, consisting of a composition of the oral mucosa, delivery mechanism, numerous forms of BDDS, formulation, assessment and application of BDDS. Additionally, this text affords a precis over the patents, advertised products and destiny factors of BDDS. In this evaluation article, we've got tried to assemble the maximum significant reports (1988 to 2021) of formulation, assessment, application, patents of BDDS. This review will help pharmaceutical researchers to clarify the potential of BDDS to overcome the various existing drug delivery dispute like the efficiency of absorption, permeability and bioavailability of drugs
A comparative study to assess the quality of life among care givers of patients with schizophrenia and mania in selected hospital at Tirunelveli
OBJECTIVES:
1. To assess the quality of life among care givers of patients with schizophrenia.
2. To assess the quality of life among care givers of patients with mania.
3. To compare the quality of life among care givers of patients with schizophrenia and mania.
4. To find association between quality of life among care givers of patients with selected demographic and clinical variables.
HYPOTHESES:
The hypothesis formulated for the present study are:
H1: There is significant association between the Quality Of Life among care givers of patients with schizophrenia and mania in their selected demographic and clinical variables.
Non experimental Descriptive Comparative design was adopted for this study. The conceptual framework for this study was based on Modified Wilson and Cleary Model (1995).The tool used for data collection was Modified WHO Adult Quality of life of care givers assessment scale to assess the Quality of life.
Schizophrenia patients care givers and Mania patients care givers. The sample size of the study was selected purposively. Sample size of the study was 50 among which 25 samples were in Schizophrenia patients care givers and 25 samples were in Mania patients care givers.
MAJOR FINDINGS OF THE STUDY:
The mean and standard deviation score of quality of life of care givers of patient with Schizophrenia was 46.68± 12.03. The mean and standard deviation score of quality of life of care givers of patient with Mania was 60.08± 12.28. The mean difference was 13.40 and it was inferred that the quality of life of schizophrenia care givers was low comparing to mania care givers.
There is no significant association between selected demographic variables life age, gender, religion, education, occupation, type of family, monthly income, marital status, relationship of the patient, residency and their Quality of life. There is no significant association between selected clinical variables like Duration of illness, No of hospitalization, Type of admission, Availability of support system and their Quality of life.
CONCLUSION:
The main conclusion drawn from this present study was that the quality of life among schizophrenia care givers was low comparing to the mania care givers. As the stress level of schizophrenia patients care givers were high, the researcher provided Counseling distributed and the pamphlets regarding stress management technique to relieve their stress level and improve their quality of life
Getting to Common Ground: A Comparison of Ontario, Canada’s Provincial Policy Statement and the Auckland Council Regional Policy Statement with Respect to Indigenous Peoples
Indigenous rights are crucial to contemporary land use planning and policy in settler states. This article comparatively analyzes the manifest and latent content of the 2014 Provincial Policy Statement of Ontario, Canada (PPS) and the 1999 Auckland Council Regional Policy Statement of Aotearoa New Zealand (ACRPS) in order to evaluate their relative capacity to recognize the rights of Indigenous peoples. While the results show that jurisdiction is an impediment to fostering common ground between Indigenous peoples and settler states, the authors conclude that the PPS and the ACRPS serve vital roles in building dialogue and equitable planning outcomes

A RANDOMISED CONTROL TRIAL ON CEREBRO VASCULAR ACCIDENT PATIENTS WITH REFERENCE TO AETIOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT: 24 WEEKS, SINGLE-CENTER, PROSPECTIVE OBSERVATIONAL PILOT STUDY
Objectives: Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability in world. Stroke is an important cause of premature death and disability in low-income and middle-income countries like India, largely driven by demographic changes and enhanced by the increasing prevalence of key modifiable risk factors. The main aim of our study was to assess the clinical profile with special reference to the etiology of the condition, the management, and drug utilization review.
Methods: This is a hospital-based prospective observational randomized control trial which was conducted for a period of 6 months at Government General Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Kadapa. Seventy-five patients were recruited based on study criteria. The data were analyzed and summarized as frequency and percentage by GraphPad Prism software using Microsoft Excel.
Results: In a total of 75 patients, it was found that 45 and 30 patients were female. Maximum number of patients (i.e. 36 patients) belonged to 51–60 years age group. We observed that 52 patients were suffering from ischemic stroke, 21 patients were suffering from transient ischemic stroke, and only 2 patients were suffering from ischemic stroke and transient ischemic stroke. Among 75 patients studied, hypertension (62%), diabetes mellitus (28%), smoking (33%), and alcohol (33%) were the risk factors.
Conclusion: In this study, ischemic stroke was most prevalent. Hypertension, that is, increase of blood pressure considered as one of the important and major risk factors for stroke occurrence and recurrence. Proper management includes non-pharmacological (physiotherapy) along with pharmacological treatment that included cardiovascular system drugs such as hypolipidemics, cognition enhancers, anticoagulants, and antihypertensive therapy
Stable CoO Nanoscrolls With Outstanding Electrical Properties
Layered CoO is of great interest for its promising properties but is
meta-stable in its bulk form. CoO was synthesized in a long-term stable
nanotubular or scrolled form by converting the quasi-one-dimensional crystal
structure of bulk CaCoO via a hydrothermal treatment. The resulting
one-dimensional nanostructures with very thin walls are investigated in detail.
The CoO_ is found to crystallize in monoclinic form, similar to the related
CaCoO-CoO misfit structure. Individual nanoscrolls are characterized
electrically and show a p-type semiconducting nature with a high
current-carrying capacity of A/cm and an extremely high
breakdown voltage of 27 kV/cm. The results demonstrate the possibility to
stabilize meta-stable materials in low-dimensional forms and a promising
application of the nanoscrolls as interconnect in high-voltage electronic
circuitry
