Dynamic equilibrium economies: a framework for comparing models and data
We propose a constructive, multivariate framework for assessing agreement between (generally misspecified) dynamic equilibrium models and data, a framework which enables a complete second-order comparison of the dynamic properties of models and data. We use bootstrap algorithms to evaluate the significance of deviations between models and data, and we use goodness-of-fit criteria to produce estimators that optimize economically relevant loss functions. Distribution of magnetic domain pinning fields in GaMnAs ferromagnetic films
Using the angular dependence of the planar Hall effect in GaMnAs
ferromagnetic films, we were able to determine the distribution of magnetic
domain pinning fields in this material. Interestingly, there is a major
difference between the pinning field distribution in as-grown and in annealed
films, the former showing a strikingly narrower distribution than the latter.
This conspicuous difference can be attributed to the degree of non-uniformity
of magnetic anisotropy in both types of films. This finding provides a better
understanding of the magnetic domain landscape in GaMnAs that has been the
subject of intense debate
Material and doping dependence of the nodal and anti-nodal dispersion renormalizations in single- and multi-layer cuprates
In this paper we present a review of bosonic renormalization effects on
electronic carriers observed from angle-resolved photoemission spectra in the
cuprates. We specifically discuss the viewpoint that these renormalizations
represent coupling of the electrons to the lattice, and review how the wide
range of materials dependence, such as the number of CuO layers, and the
doping dependence can be straightforwardly understood as arising due to novel

Brans-Dicke Gravity from Entropic Viewpoint
We interpret the Brans-Dicke gravity from entropic viewpoint. We first apply
the Verlinde's entropic formalism in the Einstein frame, then perform the
conformal transformation which connects the Einstein frame to the Jordan frame.
The transformed result yields the equation of motion of the Brans-Dicke theory

Analysis of the spectral function of Nd1.85Ce0.15CuO4, obtained by angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy
Samples of Nd(2-x)Ce(x)CuO(4), an electron-doped high temperature
superconducting cuprate (HTSC), near optimal doping at x = 0.155 were measured
via angle resolved photoemission (ARPES). We report a renormalization feature
in the self energy ("kink") in the band dispersion at 50 - 60 meV present in
nodal and antinodal cuts across the Fermi surface. Specifically, while the kink
had previously only been seen in the antinodal region, it is now observed also
in the nodal region, reminiscent of what has been observed in hole-doped

A Light Sterile Neutrino in the TopFlavor Model
A scenario based on the TopFlavor model is presented to explain the origin of
a light sterile neutrino as indicated by all combined neutrino oscillation
experiments. The model is phenomenologically well motivated and compatible with
all available low-energy data. The derived nuetrino mass matrix can
qualitatively explain the observed hierarchy in the neutrino mass splittings as
indicated by the neutrino oscillation data. Numerical results are obtained for

Two-photon absorption and broadband optical limiting with bis-donor stilbenes
Large two-photon absorptivities are reported for symmetrical bis-donor stilbene derivatives with dialkylamino or diphenylamino groups. These molecules exhibit strong optical limiting of nanosecond pulses over a broad spectral range in the visible. Relative to bis(di-n-butylamino)stilbene, bis(diphenylamino)stilbene exhibits a 90-nm red shift of its optical limiting band but only a minimal shift of ~13 nm of its lowest one-photon electronic absorption band. Mixtures of these compounds offer an unprecedented combination of broad optical limiting bandwidth and high linear transparency
