Which Osteotomy for Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head and Which Patient for the Osteotomy?
Transtrochanteric curved varus osteotomy (TCVO) and transtrochanteric rotational osteotomy (TRO) are joint-preserving procedures for osteonecrosis of the femoral head. The purpose of this review is to provide up-to-date guidelines for the osteotomies. One retrospective comparison revealed that TCVO has shorter operation time, less bleeding, lower incidence of osteophyte formation, and lower rate of secondary collapse. To obtain successful results of the osteotomy, the patient should be younger than 40 years and should have a body mass index of less than 24 kg/m2. The osteotomy should be performed in early stages of femoral head osteonecrosis before marked collapse of the femoral head. The patient should have a medium-size lesion and an enough viable bone to restore the intact articular surface and subchondral bone in the weight-bearing area
The Influential Motivations of Green IT Device Use and the Role of Reference Group Perspective
In this study we investigate the determinants of behavior intention to use green IT device for reducing electronic consumption by focusing on the end user aspects of a pro-environmental behavior. We tried to understand motivation theory in explaining the causal relationship between motivation aspects and perceived usefulness. By using a reference group theory, we emphasized on how the reference group moderates the motivations and perceived usefulness relationship. We used Partial Least Square (PLS) to analyze the data sample of 104 and found that intrinsic motivation (perceived enjoyment) is significantly related to the perceived usefulness as well as extrinsic motivation (saving money, legislative pressure) is strongly related to the perceived usefulness. In sum, the perceived usefulness has a strong impact on sustainable use of green IT device. Also, we found that a reference group moderates partially the independent variables and mediation variable
Parameter Conditions for Global Stability of FAST TCP
In this letter, we study the global asymptotic stability of FAST TCP in the presence of network feedback delays. Based on a continuous-time dynamic model of FAST TCP and a static approximation of queuing delay at the link, we derive stability conditions for FAST TCP. The derived conditions are explicitly appeared as tuning parameter conditions of FAST TCP, and hence can be satisfied in a distributed way. The simulation results illustrate the validity of the conditions for the global asymptotic stability
Localization in Sensor Networks with Fading Channels based on Nonmetric Distrance Models
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) applications nowadays are an emerging avenue in which sensor localization is an essential and crucial issue. Many algorithms have been proposed to estimate the coordinate of sensors in WSNs, however, the attained accuracy in real-world applications is still far from the theoretical lower bound, Crame-Rao Lower Bound (CRLB), due to the effects of fading channels. In this paper, we propose a very simple and light weight statistical model for rang-based localization schemes, especially for the most typical localization algorithms based on received signal strength (RSS) and time-of-arrival (TOA). Our proposed method infers only the order or the nomination of given distances from measurement data to avoid significant bias caused by fading channels or shadowing. In such way, it radically reduces the effects of the degradation and performs better than existing algorithms do. With simulation of fading channels and irregular noises for both the RSS-based measurement and the TOA-based measurement, we analyze and testify both the benefits and the drawbacks of the proposed models and the localization scheme
