    On the Composition of Gauge Structures

    A formulation for a non-trivial composition of two classical gauge structures is given: Two parent gauge structures of a common base space are synthesized so as to obtain a daughter structure which is fundamental by itself. The model is based on a pair of related connections that take their values in the product space of the corresponding Lie algebras. The curvature, the covariant exterior derivatives and the associated structural identities, all get contributions from both gauge groups. The various induced structures are classified into those whose composition is given just by trivial means, and those which possess an irreducible nature. The pure irreducible piece, in particular, generates a complete super-space of ghosts with an attendant set of super-BRST variation laws, both of which are purely of a geometrical origin.Comment: Few elaborations are added to section 4 and section 5.     Partial Teleportation of Entanglement in the Noisy Environment

    Partial teleportation of entanglement is to teleport one particle of an entangled pair through a quantum channel. This is conceptually equivalent to quantum swapping. We consider the partial teleportation of entanglement in the noisy environment, employing the Werner-state representation of the noisy channel for the simplicity of calculation. To have the insight of the many-body teleportation, we introduce the measure of correlation information and study the transfer of the correlation information and entanglement. We find that the fidelity gets smaller as the initial-state is entangled more for a given entanglement of the quantum channel. The entangled channel transfers at least some of the entanglement to the final state.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figure

    An Analysis of the Decay B→D∗XℓνˉℓB \rightarrow D^* X \ell \bar\nu_\ell with Predictions from Heavy Quark and Chiral Symmetry

    This paper considers the implications of the heavy quark and chiral symmetries for the semi-leptonic decay B→D∗XℓνˉℓB \rightarrow D^* X \ell \bar \nu_\ell. The general kinematic analysis for decays of the form {\sl pseudoscalar meson →\rightarrow vector meson ++ pseudoscalar meson ++ lepton ++ anti-lepton} is presented. This formalism is applied to the above exclusive decay which allows the differential decay rate to be expressed in a form that is ideally suited for the experimental determination of the different form factors for the process through angular distribution measurements. Heavy quark and chiral symmetry predictions for the form factors are presented, and the differential decay rate is calculated in the kinematic region where chiral perturbation theory is valid.Comment: 15 pages, uses jytex.tex and tables.tex; 3 figures not included but available on reques

    LHC Benchmarks from Flavored Gauge Mediation

    We present benchmark points for LHC searches from flavored gauge mediation models, in which messenger-matter couplings give flavor-dependent squark masses. Our examples include spectra in which a single squark - stop, scharm, or sup - is much lighter than all other colored superpartners, motivating improved quark flavor tagging at the LHC. Many examples feature flavor mixing; in particular, large stop-scharm mixing is possible. The correct Higgs mass is obtained in some examples by virtue of the large stop A-term. We also revisit the general flavor and CP structure of the models. Even though the A-terms can be substantial, their contributions to EDM's are very suppressed, because of the particular dependence of the A-terms on the messenger coupling. This holds regardless of the messenger-coupling texture. More generally, the special structure of the soft terms often leads to stronger suppression of flavor- and CP-violating processes, compared to naive estimates.Comment: 32 pages, 11 figures.     Coherence and superconductivity in coupled one-dimensional chains: a case study of YBa2_{2}Cu3_{3}Oy_{y}

    We report the infrared (IR) response of Cu-O chains in the high-TcT_{c} superconductor YBa2_{2}Cu3_{3}Oy_{y} over the doping range spanning y=6.28−6.75% y=6.28-6.75. We find evidence for a power law scaling at mid-IR frequencies consistent with predictions for Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid, thus supporting the notion of one-dimensional transport in the chains. We analyze the role of coupling to the CuO2_{2} planes in establishing metallicity and superconductivity in disordered chain fragments.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
