Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Schizophrenia: An outcome study

This study aimed to evaluate the outcome of a CBT treatment package for individuals with schizophrenia in Hong Kong. The treatment consisted of standard CBT modules as well as optional skills training modules. All participants were required to keep to their usual pharmacological treatment. Subjects were randomly assigned to either the CBT treatment group, or a waiting list control group. Outcome measures included positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia, as well as depressive symptoms. Thirty-two patients completed treatment. Both groups showed significant improvement in the outcome measures. Their progress was maintained at the 15th month follow up.link_to_subscribed_fulltex
