The DKAP Project The Country Report of Vietnam
Viet Nam is at the beginning of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In order to grasp the opportunities that the revolution has brought about, and to successfully build the society of digital citizens, there must be the demand of enhancing the capacity and capability for students to meet international standards in terms of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) skills. Viet Nam was selected as one of the four countries (Viet Nam, Bangladesh, Fiji, and the Republic of Korea) to join UNESCO Bangkok’s “Digital Kids Asia Pacific (DKAP)” project, a comparative cross-national study with the aim to seek the understanding and address children’s ICT practices, attitudes, behaviors, and competency levels within an educational context. Thanks to the project, the Vietnamese research team completely conducted the survey in twenty (20) schools from five (5) provinces in Viet Nam. With the data on the digital citizenship competency levels of 1,061 10th grade students, the research team discovered the valuable findings to draw an initial big picture for Vietnamese policy makers, educators, and teachers about digital citizenship competencies of 15-year-old Vietnamese students
Analysis and pre-estimation of nutrients in Vietnamese waters
The distribution of nutrients (Silica, Phosphate, Ammonium, Nitrate, Nitrite and Sulfate) in the Vietnamese waters was studied in the SEAFDEC Interdepartmental Collaborative Research Survey: Area IV. The samples were collected by M.V. SEAFDEC on the 30 April to 29 May 1999 (post monsoon period). Fifty-eight stations (2m from surface and 100 m from surface) were established in this study. The average of Silica at the surface layer is 25.96μM and at the bottom layer is 30.69μM. The average of Phosphate at the surface layer is 0.890 μM and at the bottom layer is 1.353μM. The average of Ammonium at the surface layer is 2.805μM and at the bottom layer is 2.538μM. The average of Nitrate at the surface layer is 5.593μM and at the bottom layer is 6.810μM. The average of Nitrite at the surface layer is 0.169μM and at the bottom layer is 0.197µM. The average of Sulfate at the surface layer is 26.903 μM and at the bottom layer is 27.831μM. The results indicated that the concentrations of Silica, Phosphate, Nitrate, Nitrite and Sulfate in deep water were higher in the surface water, but the Ammonium is inverse
Alcohol Use, HIV Treatment Adherence, and Sexual Risk Among People with a History of Injecting Drug Use in Vietnam.
Alcohol use can limit the effectiveness of antiretroviral therapy (ART) for people living with HIV (PLH) who have a history of injecting drug use. This study described the patterns of alcohol use among PLH with a history of injecting drug use in Vietnam and examined the relationships between alcohol use, adherence to ART, and sexual risks. We utilized cross-sectional data of 109 PLH on ART collected from a randomized controlled intervention trial in Vietnam. Approximately 30 and 46% of the participants were frequent and occasional drinkers, respectively. Frequent drinkers reported the highest number of missed medication days. About 61% of frequent drinkers reported having sex after using alcohol. Additionally, 23, 34, and 24% of nondrinkers, occasional drinkers, and frequent drinkers, respectively, reported inconsistent condom use during sex. Future intervention programs should address the issues of alcohol use and sexual risks to maximize the effectiveness of HIV treatment programs in Vietnam
On the regularization of solution of an inverse ultraparabolic equation associated with perturbed final data
In this paper, we study the inverse problem for a class of abstract
ultraparabolic equations which is well-known to be ill-posed. We employ some
elementary results of semi-group theory to present the formula of solution,
then show the instability cause. Since the solution exhibits unstable
dependence on the given data functions, we propose a new regularization method
to stabilize the solution. then obtain the error estimate. A numerical example
shows that the method is efficient and feasible. This work slightly extends to
the earlier results in Zouyed et al. \cite{key-9} (2014).Comment: 19 pages, 4 figures, 1 tabl
A Framework for Designing Learning Analytics Information Systems
Learning analytics offers new opportunities in higher education, yet the design and development of educational data analytics are facing several challenges. Little guidance is available for researchers and developers when it comes to designing, developing, and implementing learning analytics information systems in higher education. Hence, this study proposes a comprehensive conceptual framework for designing learning analytics information systems incorporating both computational and educational aspects. The framework provides systematic support for learning analytics researchers and designers. It is constructed based on the process and critical dimensions of learning analytics and instructional systems design. By applying the framework to analyze a previously published study, we provide a better understanding of its key qualities. Furthermore, the application of the framework to design a new learning analytics information system provides forward engineering support
Website Quality and Intention to Use Real Estate Website in Housing Market
The purpose of this study is to operationalize the impact of some factors of real estate website quality on behavioral intention to use in searching information about housing market. Research model is the integration of extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) of Davis and Information Success System of DeLone and McLean. The data of 847 real estate website users from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City was analyzed by Structural Equation Model (SEM) and multiple group analysis. The findings indicate that most of all hypotheses received support from data, specifically, Perceived Enjoyment has the most positive impact on Attitude and Behavioral Intention of real estate website users. Moreover, there is difference in the degree of impact of website quality between the perception of users in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. How To Motivate Language Learning Environment: CALL Before And After The Pandemic Of Covid-19
Integrating information technology into teaching and learning foreign languages holds significant importance for the education system of our country. This serves as a crucial foundation for shaping the core generation of the future, aiding the nation's development, and advancing on the path of international integration. However, the application of information technology in foreign language education is currently prevalent primarily in schools located within major cities. To achieve the good effectiveness of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), suitable solutions tailored to specific localities are necessary, which is the motivation for this study. I conducted this study focusing on high school students in Nha Trang to understand their attitudes towards the use of information technology in learning English before and after the pandemic Covid 19. This understanding was then used to discuss and propose several appropriate solutions aimed at cultivating a self-directed, creative, and engaging learning environment. This research has the potential to contribute towards generating general solutions for the implementation of information technology in teaching and learning across Vietnam
Challenges and Solutions for Ride-Hailing Motorbike Drivers in Vietnam: An Analysis of Working Conditions and Health
In the digital age, ride-hailing motorbike services have become an indispensable part of the urban transportation system in Vietnam, attracting thousands of workers with their flexibility and income potential. However, occupation also poses numerous health and safety challenges. This research article employs a survey method to collect data from ride-hailing motorbike drivers to analyze the labor burdens they endure. Based on the findings, the study suggests solutions such as improving working conditions, developing health support programs, and implementing more flexible policies to enhance the quality of life and job satisfaction among workers, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the industry in Vietnam
EAST SEA POLICY OF THE UNITED STATES IN THE CONTEXT OF THE US-CHINA COMPETITION
The East Sea has a vital position for maritime powers worldwide and is a crucial point of strategic competition for significant countries. Currently, the East Sea is where many fierce disputes over sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction occur between coastal countries because the views and interests of each side are far apart, and they need help finding a consensus on how to solve the problem. The US interests in the East Sea include diverse interests in freedom of navigation, economics, politics, military, and security. The article aims to systematically analyze and explain the US policy towards the East Sea issue since the US Administration announced the Pivot to Asia-Pacific strategy. The US foreign policy towards the East Sea has changed in the direction of increased US involvement in response to rising tensions over disputes, especially towards increased interests of China in this region. Although the United States does not take sides in sovereignty claims, it nevertheless increases its involvement in the issue, focusing on peaceful control of claims and resolving disputes through peaceful negotiation measures.
