Objective:Dentofacial deformities can affect patient “quality of life” (QoL), and orthognathic surgery can improve this QoL. The aim of the present study is to assess changes in QoL in Moroccan adult patients with dentofacial deformities undergoing orthodontic surgical treatment.Methods:32 patients (21 females and 11 males; mean age 27±5.96 years) completed a specific questionnaire of QoL once the surgical phase is completed. The questionnaire includes 22 questions marked on a 4-point scale depending on how much the question covered by the statement disturbs the respondent. The 22 questions contribute to four aspects: social aspects of dentofacial deformities, facial aesthetic, oral function, and awareness of dentofacial aesthetics. Results:A significant difference in QoL was observed before surgery between men and women. On the other hand, 73.6% stated of patients said that they were uncomfortable by their dentofacial appearance before surgery, and almost half of the patients have made functional limitations before surgery. After surgery, 85.42% of patients reported a positive change in their QoL. Class III patients reported greater pre-surgical aesthetic and functional restrictions than Class II skeletal patients. In post-surgery, patients in both skeletal classes showed significant improvement in their QoL, so improving the aesthetics, oral functions and self-confidence are the main motivators to seek orthognathic treatment for our patients. Conclusion:Improving the aesthetics, oral functions and self-confidence are the main motivators to seek orthognathic treatment for Moroccan patients

The cleft lip and palate (CLP) is the second most common congenital anomaly in the world; therefore, understanding the quality of life in children and adolescents with this malformation is extremely important. The study of the quality of life in this population is based on how the patient feels about his condition and how it affects his general well-being depending on the problems he may encounter concerning bone growth, phonation, speaking, facial appearance, and social relationship. As part of a descriptive survey, the aim was to assess and study the quality of life of patients with labio-palatal clefts operated and undergoing medical management, as well as the quality of life perceived by their parents to evaluate the family impact of this dysmorphia. According to the studies, teenagers had the lowest quality of life rates in the items: physical appearance and self-esteem, so the psychological support for patients and their families with multidisciplinary treatment that meets standards, are the keys to improving the quality of life of this category of patients

Introduction This study aimed to evaluate the acceptability of COVID-19 vaccination among health care workers prior to the start of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Morocco. Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted in the Cheikh Khalifa University Hospital of Casablanca-Morocco. Utilizing a web-based platform surveys were distributed over a 3-week period via professional mailing list and social media. Odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals were estimated by using logistic regression models. Results A total of 303 health care workers participated in this study. The results showed a relatively high rate of vaccination acceptability (62.0%) among health care workers included in this study. Participants were more likely to accept the COVID-19 vaccine if they were physician, nurse, or technician (OR 1.79; 95% CI: 1.09–2.95), had high score of confidence in the information circulating about COVID-19 (OR 1.91; 95% CI: 1.36–2.69), or had high score of perceived severity of COVID-19 (OR 1.55; 95% CI: 1.11–2.15). Reasons of hesitation/or refusal of COVID-19 vaccine were fear of the likely side effects of the vaccine for 74.8% of participants, and concern about the effectiveness of the vaccine for 47.8%. Conclusion This study showed a relatively high rate of the COVID-19 vaccination acceptance among health care workers in Morocco. Willingness to be vaccinated was significantly associated with job category, confidence in the information circulating about COVID-19, and perceived severity of COVID-19. These results could be useful in the development of educational interventions to increase the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccine among health care workers in Morocco and similar settings
