Vector-like quarks: t′ and partners
Vector-like quarks are predicted in various scenarios of new physics, and their peculiar signatures from both pair and single production have been already investigated in detail. However no signals of vector-like quarks have been detected so far, pushing limits on their masses above 600–700GeV, depending on assumptions on their couplings. Experimental searches consider specific final states to pose bounds on the mass of a vector-like quark, usually assuming it is the only particle that contributes to the signal of new physics in that specific final state. However, realistic scenarios predict the existence of multiple vector-like quarks, possibly with similar masses. The reinterpretation of mass bounds from experimental searches is therefore not always straightforward. In this analysis I briefly summarise the constraints on vector-like quarks and their possible signatures at the LHC, focusing in particular on a model-independent description of single production processes for vector-like quark that mix with all generations and on the development of a framework to
study scenarios with multiple vector-like quarks
Strong and Electro-Weak Supersymmetric Corrections to Single Top Processes at the Large Hadron Collider
We present the one-loop corrections originating from Quantum Chromo-Dynamics
(QCD) and Electro-Weak (EW) interactions of Supersymmetric (SUSY) origin within
the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) to the single-top processes bq
-> tq' and qbar q' -> tbar b. We illustrate their impact onto top quark
observables accessible at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in the 't+jet' final
state, such as total cross section, several differential distributions and
left-right plus forward-backward asymmetries. We find that in many instances
these effects can be observable for planned LHC energies and luminosities,
quite large as well as rather sensitive to several MSSM parameters.Comment: 22 pages, 10 figures; added a brief comment on the dependence of

Model Independent Framework for Searches of Top Partners
We propose a model-independent and general framework to study the LHC
phenomenology of top partners, i.e. Vector-Like quarks including particles with
different electro-magnetic charge. We consider Vector-Like quarks embedded in
general representations of the weak SU(2)L, coupling to all Standard Model
quarks via Yukawa mixing focusing on the case of a single multiplet. We show
that, with very minimal and quite general assumptions, top partners may be
studied in terms of few parameters in an effective Lagrangian description with
a clear and simple connection with experimental observables. We also
demonstrate that the parametrisation can be applied as well to cases with many
Vector-like multiplets, thus covering most realistic models of New Physics. We
perform a numerical study to understand the conclusions which can be drawn
within such a description and the expected potential for discovery or exclusion
at the LHC. Our main results are a clear connection between branching ratios
and single production channels, and the identification of novel interesting

Associated production of charged Higgs and top at LHC: the role of the complete electroweak supersymmetric contribution
The process of charged Higgs production in association with a top quark at
the LHC has been calculated at the complete NLO electroweak level both in a Two
Higgs Doublets Model and in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, assuming
a mSUGRA breaking scheme. We have numerically explored the size of the one-loop
corrections in two typical supersymmetric scenarios, with particular attention
to the tan beta dependence, and we have found that they remain perturbatively
small but possibly sizable, reaching a 20% limit for extreme values of tan
beta, when the complete set of Feynman diagrams is taken into account.Comment: 22 pages, 5 figures, reference adde
Supersymmetry spectroscopy in stop-chargino production at LHC
We consider the process of associated stop-chargino production in the MSSM at
LHC and show that, at the simplest Born level, the production rate is
dramatically sensitive to the choice of the benchmark points, oscillating from
potentially "visible" maxima of the picobarn size to much smaller, hardly
"visible", values. Adopting a canonical choice of SM type CKM matrices, we also
show that in some "visible" cases the total rate exhibits a possibly relevant

XQCAT: eXtra Quark Combined Analysis Tool
XQCAT (eXtra Quark Combined Analysis Tool) is a tool aimed at determining
exclusion confidence levels for scenarios of new physics characterised by the
presence of one or multiple heavy extra quarks which interact through Yukawa
couplings with any of the Standard Model quarks. The code uses a database of
efficiencies for pre-simulated processes of QCD-induced pair production of
extra quarks and their subsequent on-shell decays. In the version 1.2 of XQCAT
the efficiencies have been computed for a set of seven publicly available
search results by the CMS experiment. The input for the code is a text file in
which masses, branching ratios and dominant chirality of the couplings of the
new quarks are provided. The output of the code is the exclusion confidence
levels of the test point for each implemented experimental analysis considered

Semi-inclusive bottom-Higgs production at LHC: The complete one-loop electroweak effect in the MSSM
We present the first complete calculation of the one-loop electroweak effect
in the process of semi-inclusive bottom-Higgs production at LHC in the MSSM.
The size of the electroweak contribution depends on the choice of the final
produced neutral Higgs boson, and can be relevant, in some range of the input
parameters. A comparison of the one-loop results obtained in two different
renormalization schemes is also performed, showing a very good NLO scheme
independence. We further comment on two possible, simpler, approximations of
the full NLO result, and on their reliabilty
