Native vacancy defects in Zn1-x(Mn,Co)xGeAs2 studied with positron annihilation spectroscopy

    Get PDF
We have studied vacancy defects in chalcopyrite semimagnetic semiconducting mixed Zn1−x(Mn,Co)xGeAs2 bulk crystals with alloy composition x varying between 0.052 to 0.182 using positron annihilation spectroscopy. We identified As vacancies, potentially complexed with the transition metal alloying elements, in all the studied samples, while no cation vacancy related defects were detected. The positron lifetimes for the bulk ZnGeAs2 lattice and neutral As vacancy were determined to be τB=220–230 ps and τAs=300±10 ps, respectively. Our results also show that the p-type conductivity in the samples is not due to cation vacancy related acceptor centers. The As vacancies were found to be present at such low concentrations that they cannot be responsible for the compensation of the p-type conductivity or the reduction of mobility in the Zn1−x(Mn,Co)xGeAs2 samples.Peer reviewe

Reference information in integral anamnesis development

The article is devoted to semantic content of integral anamnesis - basic part of national integrated electronic health record. Integral anamnesis is a formalized set of the most important clinical data of a patient aimed at safety and continuous medical care both emergency and elective care. A short review of international projects of implementation and trans border exchange of key information about a patient is presented. Information content of integral anamnesis is presented which is developed in our country and includes 15 main sections: disability, benefits, social factors, addiction and occupational hazards, significant vital parameters, blood types and rhesus factor, pathological reactions, vaccination and immunization, epidemiological anamnesis, significant (dispensary) diseases, surgical interventions, medical devices and implants, pregnancies and deliveries, current medications and non-drug treatment. Administration, structure, problems, readiness of reference materials for coding of information presented in integral anamnesis are described. At the moment most of the necessary reference materials are finished and available on the portal of normative-reference information of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (http://nsi.rosminzdrav.ru/): 20 basic and 7 additional ones. At the current stage it provides interoperability of medical information systems in integral anamnesis. Such time-consuming reference books as surgical interventions, instrumental diagnostic studies, federal reference book of medications are being actively developed. The section «Epidemiological anamnesis of a patient» stays practically unformalized. The first step in this direction is development of a reference book of immunobiological medications for specific prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment. The aim of the study of semantic interoperability for integral anamnesis was reached by development of 27 reference books posted on the federal portal of normative-reference information of the Ministry of Health of Russia; the next stage should be development of technologies of formation and upgrade of the information of integral anamnesis

Double Spin Asymmetries A_NN and A_SS at sqrt{s}=200 GeV in Polarized Proton-Proton Elastic Scattering at RHIC

    Get PDF
We present the first measurements of the double spin asymmetries A_NN and A_SS at sqrt{s}=200 GeV, obtained by the pp2pp experiment using polarized proton beams at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The data were collected in the four momentum transfer t range 0.01<|t|<0.03 (GeV/c)^2. The measured asymmetries, which are consistent with zero, allow us to estimate upper limits on the double helicity-flip amplitudes phi_2 and phi_4 at small t as well as on the difference Delta(sigma_T) between the total cross sections for transversely polarized protons with antiparallel or parallel spin orientations.Comment: 13 pages with 3 figures. Molecular genetic detection and differentiation of <i>Xanthomonas oryzae</i> pv. <i>oryzicola</i>, bacterial leaf streak agents of rice

The genus Xanthomonas comprises phytopathogenic bacteria which infect about 400 host species, including a wide variety of economically important plants. Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola (Fang et al., 1957) Swings et al., 1990 is the causal agent of bacterial leaf streak (BLS) being one of the most destructive bacterial diseases of rice. BLS symptoms are very similar to those of bacterial blight caused by closely related Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae. X. o. pv. oryzae and X. o. pv. oryzicola and often occur in rice f ields simultaneously, so separate leaves may show symptoms of both diseases. The quarantine status and high severity of the pathogen require a highly eff icient, fast and precise diagnostic method. We have developed an assay for Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola detection using real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and PCR amplicon sequencing. The DNA samples of X. o. pv. oryzae and X. o. pv. oryzicola were obtained from the collection of CIRM-CFBR (France). To evaluate the analytical sensitivity of the assay, a vector construct based on the pAL2-T plasmid was created through the insertion of X. o. pv. oryzicola target fragment (290 bp). Primers and a probe for qPCR were selected for the hpa1 gene site. They allowed identifying all the strains the sequences of which had been loaded in the GenBank NCBI Nucleotide database before November 11, 2021. The SeqX.o.all sequencing primers were selected for the hrp gene cluster sequence, namely for the nucleotide sequence encoding the Hpa1 protein, the sequencing of which allows for eff icient differentiation of X. oryzae species. The analytical specif icity of the system was tested using the DNAs of 53 closely related and accompanying microorganisms and comprised 100 % with no false-positive or false-negative results registered. The system’s analytical sensitivity was not less than 25 copies per PCR reaction. Its eff icacy has been conf irmed using f ive different qPCR detection systems from different manufacturers, so it can be recommended for diagnostic and screening studies

The article presents the methods of mathematical analysis of the impactof alcohol on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and the state of health of newborn state. With the help of this analysis we revealed informative diagnostic features that let determine the effect of alcohol on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and newborn state: the use of alcohol before pregnancy once per month; alcohol consumption before pregnancy 2-4 times per month; smoking during pregnancy; abortion history; anemia during pregnancy; congenital heart disease on the third ultrasound screening; abnormal birth activity; subinvolution of uterus in the postpartum period; newborn gender; gestational age; prematurity and generally heavy state of a newborn. Linear classification function can be calculated by the formula 1.2. Canonical linear discriminant function can be calculated from equation [formula 3]. Diagnostic accuracy of decision rules in the middle is quite high - 76,69 %, in the first group - 75,7 %, in the second group - 77,6 %

Search for the Cryptoexotic Member of the Baryon Antidecuplet 1/2+ in the Reactions pi- p --> pi- p and pi- p --> K L

The main goal of this proposal is the search for a narrow cryptoexotic nucleon resonance by scanning of the pi- p system invariant mass in the region (1610-1770) MeV with the detection of pi- p and K Lambda decays. The scan is supposed to be done by the variation of the incident pi- momentum and its measurement with the accuracy of up to +-0.1% (better than 1 MeV in terms of the invariant mass in the whole energy range) with a set of proportional chambers located in the first focus of the magnetooptical channel. High sensitivity of the method to the resonance under search is shown. The secondary particles scattered from a liquid hydrogen target are detected by sets of the wire drift chambers equipped with modern electronics. The time scale of the project is about 3 years. The budget estimate including manpower, the apparatus and operation cost, is about 40 million rubles. The beam time required is (4-6) two week runs on "high" (10 GeV/c) flattop of the ITEP proton synchrotron.Comment: 16 pages, 10 figures. v2: an acknowledge adde
