Management of Patients with Adrenal Incidentalomas
The problem of choosing the tactics of the management of patients with adrenal incidentalomas is topical without doubt, considering the widespread use of modern instrumental methods for topical diagnosis. Despite the vast majority of hormonally inactive adrenocortical adenomas, in each case adrenal incidentalomas should be considered from the standpoint of hormonal activity and the possibility of a malignant process. This review presents the possibilities of modern laboratory and instrumental methods used for the examination of patients with adrenal incidentalomas
The Role of Glycated Hemoglobin in the Diagnosis and Monitoring of Diabetes Mellitus
Considering the prevalence of diabetes mellitus, the possibility of early and rapid progress of complications, a large number of undiagnosed cases and disappointing forecasts of the WHO on the prospects of diabetes mellitus spreading in the world, timely and accurate diagnosis of carbohydrate metabolism disorders is important. The glycated hemoglobin — an indicator that, while using the standardized methods, provides an integrated view of the glycemia level during a long period of time and allows timely detection of carbohydrate metabolism disorders. When using the glycated hemoglobin as a diagnostic criterion for detecting carbohydrate metabolism disorders or degree of diabetes mellitus compensation, the correct approach to the choice of the method of this index determination, considering its analytical reliability, is important
Adrenal Incidentaloma: Diagnostics and Choice of Therapeutic Management
Taking into the consideration the widespread usage of modern instrumental methods of topical diagnosis, the choice of the management of patients with adrenal incidentalomas is a topical problem in current medicine. Both the detection of hormonal hypersecretion and the malignant process exclusion are principal when choosing management tactics for the patients with adrenal incidentalomas. The authors presented the results of instrumental and laboratory diagnosis of 333 patients with adrenal incidentalomas
Subclinical Hypercorticism: the Necessity of Diagnostic Search
Considering certain difficulties in subclinical hypercorticism diagnosis, the object of this work is to focus attention of doctors in different areas on the necessity of thorough examination of patients with pathological conditions that may be the manifestation of Cushing’s syndrome (arterial hypertension, obesity, impaired carbohydrate metabolism and osteoporosis). The laboratory diagnosis is the instrument for early subclinical hypercorticism detection
