Global well-posedness for the Gross-Pitaevskii equation with an angular momentum rotational term in three dimensions

In this paper, we establish the global well-posedness of the Cauchy problem for the Gross-Pitaevskii equation with an angular momentum rotational term in which the angular velocity is equal to the isotropic trapping frequency in the space \Real^3.Comment: 11 page

Surface Spectral Function of Momentum-dependent Pairing Potentials in a Topological Insulator: Application to Cux_xBi2_2Se3_3

We propose three possible momentum-dependent pairing potentials for candidate of topological superconductor (for example Cux_xBi2_2Se3_3), and calculate the surface spectral function and surface density of state with these pairing potentials. We find that the first two can give the same spectral functions as the fully-gapped and node-contacted pairing potentials given in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 105, 097001], and that the third one can obtain topological non-trivial case which exists flat Andreev bound state and preserves the C3C_3 rotation symmetry. We hope our proposals and results be judged by future experiment.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure

Interface Between Topological and Superconducting Qubits

    Get PDF
We propose and analyze an interface between a topological qubit and a superconducting flux qubit. In our scheme, the interaction between Majorana fermions in a topological insulator is coherently controlled by a superconducting phase that depends on the quantum state of the flux qubit. A controlled phase gate, achieved by pulsing this interaction on and off, can transfer quantum information between the topological qubit and the superconducting qubit.Comment: 12 pages, 7 figures. Evaluating free flux flow in low-pinning molybdenum-germanium superconducting films

Vortex dynamics in molybdenum-germanium superconducting films were found to well approximate the unpinned free limit even at low driving forces. This provided an opportunity to empirically establish the intrinsic character of free flux flow and to test in detail the validity of theories for this regime beyond the Bardeen-Stephen approximation. Our observations are in good agreement with the mean-field result of time dependent Ginzburg-Landau theory. Anisotropic Magneto-conductance of InAs Nanowire: Angle Dependent Suppression of 1D Weak Localization

The magneto-conductance of an InAs nanowire is investigated with respect to the relative orientation between external magnetic field and the nanowire axis. It is found that both the perpendicular and the parallel magnetic fields induce a positive magneto-conductance. Yet the parallel magnetic field induced longitudinal magneto-conductance has a smaller magnitude. This anisotropic magneto-transport phenomenon is studied as a function of temperature, magnetic field strength and at an arbitrary angle between the magnetic field and the nanowire. We show that the observed effect is in quantitative agreement with the suppression of one-dimensional (1D) weak localization

Acute Stroke Multimodal Imaging: Present and Potential Applications toward Advancing Care.

    Get PDF
In the past few decades, the field of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) has experienced significant advances in clinical practice. A core driver of this success has been the utilization of acute stroke imaging with an increasing focus on advanced methods including multimodal imaging. Such imaging techniques not only provide a richer understanding of AIS in vivo, but also, in doing so, provide better informed clinical assessments in management and treatment toward achieving best outcomes. As a result, advanced stroke imaging methods are now a mainstay of routine AIS practice that reflect best practice delivery of care. Furthermore, these imaging methods hold great potential to continue to advance the understanding of AIS and its care in the future. Copyright © 2017 by Thieme Medical Publishers, Inc

Probing New Physics From CP Violation in Radiative B Decays

    Get PDF
When new CP-violating interactions are dominated by flavor changing neutral particle exchanges, that may occur in many extensions of the standard model. We examine a type 3 two Higgs doublet model and find that direct CP asymmetries can be as large as about 25% . Time-dependent and time-integrated mixing-induced CP asymmetries up to 85 and 40 %, respectively, are possible without conflict with other constraints. It mainly requirs an enhanced chromo-magnetic dipole b→sgb\to sg decay to be close to the present experimental bound.Comment: 7 pages, latex, no figure

Topological Gauge Structure and Phase Diagram for Weakly Doped Antiferromagnets

We show that the topological gauge structure in the phase string theory of the {\rm t-J} model gives rise to a global phase diagram of antiferromagnetic (AF) and superconducting (SC) phases in a weakly doped regime. Dual confinement and deconfinement of holons and spinons play essential roles here, with a quantum critical point at a doping concentration xc≃0.043x_c\simeq 0.043. The complex experimental phase diagram at low doping is well described within such a framework.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures, modified version, to appear in Phys. Rev. Let
