    Based on the factorization of soliton equations into two commuting integrable x- and t-constrained flows, we derive N-soliton solutions for mKdV equation via its x- and t-constrained flows.     Measuring spectrum of spin wave using vortex dynamics

    We propose to measure the spectrum of magnetic excitation in magnetic materials using motion of vortex lattice driven by both ac and dc current in superconductors. When the motion of vortex lattice is resonant with oscillation of magnetic moments, the voltage decreases at a given current. From transport measurement, one can obtain frequency of the magnetic excitation with the wave number determined by vortex lattice constant. By changing the lattice constant through applied magnetic fields, one can obtains the spectrum of the magnetic excitation up to a wave vector of order 10 nm−110\rm{\ nm^{-1}}.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure

    Microwave-induced nonequilibrium temperature in a suspended carbon nanotube

    Antenna-coupled suspended single carbon nanotubes exposed to 108 GHz microwave radiation are shown to be selectively heated with respect to their metal contacts. This leads to an increase in the conductance as well as to the development of a power-dependent DC voltage. The increased conductance stems from the temperature dependence of tunneling into a one-dimensional electron system. The DC voltage is interpreted as a thermovoltage, due to the increased temperature of the electron liquid compared to the equilibrium temperature in the leads

    Invariant information and complementarity in high-dimensional states

    Using a generalization of the invariant information introduced by Brukner and Zeilinger [Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{83}, 3354 (1999)] to high-dimensional systems, we introduce a complementarity relation between the local and nonlocal information for d×dd\times d systems under the isolated environment, where dd is prime or the power of prime.     On the Toda Lattice Equation with Self-Consistent Sources

    The Toda lattice hierarchy with self-consistent sources and their Lax representation are derived. We construct a forward Darboux transformation (FDT) with arbitrary functions of time and a generalized forward Darboux transformation (GFDT) for Toda lattice with self-consistent sources (TLSCS), which can serve as a non-auto-Backlund transformation between TLSCS with different degrees of sources. With the help of such DT, we can construct many type of solutions to TLSCS, such as rational solution, solitons, positons, negetons, and soliton-positons, soliton-negatons, positon-negatons etc., and study properties and interactions of these solutions.Comment: 20 page
