Cosmovisión del Pueblo Afrodescendiente Creole de la ciudad de Bilwi, en el proceso salud-enfermedad

This research has a qualitative approach, an anthropological-ethnographic study, because it directly studies people or groups during specific periods, using participant observation and personal interviews to analyze their habitual environment, defining their social behavior and ways of perceiving the environment. The main objective was to analyze the worldview of the Afro-descendant Creole People of Bilwi, Autonomous Region of the North Caribbean Coast, in the health-disease process. The interviewees were identified through chain sampling, with the participants being 3 men and 12 women. Among the main findings, women are mentioned as responsible for preventing diseases, maintaining health, and providing treatment to the sick at home, while passing on knowledge to their daughters/nieces. Regarding the perception of health, this is directly linked to the productivity of the subject in its day to day, that is, someone is considered sick, only when he is unable to carry out his daily activities. In addition, they coincide with the non-existence of particular sociocultural diseases in this town; however, they have a high rate of chronic conditions, heart problems, and diabetes, among others.Esta es una investigación con enfoque cualitativo, un estudio antropológico- etnográfico, porque estudia directamente a las personas o grupos durante periodos concretos, utilizando la observación participante y las entrevistas personales para analizar su medio ambiente habitual, definiendo su comportamiento social y formas de percibir el entorno. El objetivo principal fue analizar la cosmovisión del Pueblo Afrodescendiente Creole de Bilwi, Región Autónoma de la Costa Caribe Norte, en el proceso de salud-enfermedad. Se identificó a los entrevistados mediante el muestreo en cadena, siendo los participantes 3 varones y 12 mujeres. Entre los principales hallazgos se menciona a las mujeres como responsables de prevenir las enfermedades, mantener la salud y suministrar el tratamiento a los enfermos del hogar, mientras transmiten el conocimiento a sus hijas/sobrinas. Respecto a la percepción de salud, esta se vincula directamente a la productividad del sujeto en su día a día, es decir, se considera a alguien enfermo solamente cuando está incapacitado para ejecutar sus actividades diarias. Además, coinciden con inexistencia de enfermedades socioculturales particulares de este pueblo; sin embargo, poseen alto índice de afecciones crónicas, dificultades cardíacas, diabetes, entre otras.&nbsp
