    The purpose of this research is to explore the consciousness on exercise and sports of the elderly people. In order to examine the concrete form and substance of exercise and sports that be able to done “anytime, anywhere, anybody", especially stretching. The objects of the research (A) (342 sheets) are the elderly people from 50s to 70s. And the research (B) (159 sheets) are university students. The results of this research are as follows : 1) The number of people who care about health and physical strength is less than half about nutrition for life. 2) Most elderly people take light exercise and sports. 3) They don't confirm their subjective symptoms and don't warm up enough. 4) They know the word “stretching" well, but don't practice too much. 5) They stretch for the effect of “relaxation their muscles" and “betterment of flexibility of a joint" in the warm-up segment.The elderly people don't understand well enough the proper way of the practice. We must furnish concrete and proper information for the elderly people

    The purpose of this research is to explore the consciousness on health, exercise and sports in order to understand the actual condition, revolving around relations with extra-curricular sports club activities of school age. The objects of this research (182 sheets) are the eldery people from 40s to 70s. The results of this research are as follows: 1. The number of people of experience of extra-curricular sports club is 84(46.2%), and non-experience is 98(53.8%). 2. The people of experience join to exercise and sports more frequently, because they are influenced upon the conciousness on their will on learning physical education or sports and their skills of school age. 3. The people of non-experience join in order to find out a way to develope the healty life and to communicate with thier friends in the public facilities. Because the consciousness of exercise and sports varies according to their past experiences, not only we must educate to be conscious of health and physical strength for life from childhood, but also offer the various service for the eldery people throughout their life

    The purpose of this research is to examine "5 minutes 400m walk" and "5 minutes 500m walk". The main results obtained were as follows: 1. The physique and flexibility and endurance of experimental group were the same as the national average. 2. The heart rate of "500m walk" was compared with "400m walk", and was high value while walking. 3. In "500m walk", the highest number of Heart Rate was "144.86 beats/minute", and the number of average Heart Rate was "132.77 beats/minute". 4. In "400m walk", the highest number of Heart Rate was "117.64 beats/minute", and the number of average Heart Rate was "112.66 beats/minute"

    A Study of Endurance Test for Aged People : About 5 Minutes Walk

    The purpose of this present paper was to study about "5 Minutes Walk" in General Endurance Test for aged people. The main results obtained were as follows 1. Heart Rate during Step Test was rising till end of Test. 2. Heart Rate of "5 Minutes Walk" was rising suddenly till one minute, and it was about maximum. 3. In the Step Test, the maximum of Heart Rate was 118.9 beats per minute, and the mean of Heart Rate was 111.2 beats per minute. 4. In the "5 Minutes Walk", the maximum of Heart Rate was 113.3 beats per minute, and the mean of Heart Rate was 106.5 beats per minute. 5. In the "5 Minutes Walk", the maximum of Heart Rate was satisfactory results for aged people

    This research aimed to clarify a psychological effect and a physiological effect of the whole body stretching by using the method of the bending of the wrists and ankles (in flex) and the method of the extending (with the point). First of all, about a physiological index, an effective part was the pectorals in significant A front part of the body chiefly showed the decrease in the case of the stretching done with the point A back part of the body chiefly showed the decrease in the case of the stretching done with the point. Next, a significant change was not seen about the oxygen uptake, the amount of the carbon dioxide exhaust, and the heart rate. And the amount of ventilation is a little, and breath also has increased in the case of the stretching done in flex. From these, it can be said that the method of doing with the point is more effective in respect concerning breath in the effect, and that the method in flex is more effective in respect concerning the body part (muscle) in the effect On the other hand, about the feelings standard as a psychological index, it was guessed that each method was also effective. The importance of doing consciously at the execution of the static stretching with low exercise strength of breath and the body part (muscle) was suggested
