Enhanced Fuzzy Feature Match Algorithm for Mehndi Fingerprints
The performance of biometric system is degraded by the distortions occurred in finger print image acquisition. This paper focuses on nonlinear distortions occurred due to Mehndi / Heena drawn on the palm/fingers. The present invention is to detect and rectify such distortions using feedback paradigm. If image is of good quality, there is no need to renovate features. So, quality of whole image is checked by generating exponential similarity distribution. Quality of local region is checked by the ridge continuity map and ridge clarity map. Then, we check whether feedback is needed or not. The desired features such as ridge structure, minutiae point, orientation, etc. are renovated using feedback paradigm. Feedback is taken from top K matched template fingerprints registered in the database. Fuzzy logic handles uncertainties and imperfections in images. For matching, we have proposed the Enhanced Fuzzy Feature Match (EFFM) for estimating triangular feature set of distance between minutiae, orientation angle of minutiae, angle between the direction of minutiae points, angle between the interior bisector of triangle and the direction of minutiae, and a minutiae type. The proposed algorithm incorporates an additional parameter minutiae type that assists to improve accuracy of matching algorithm. The experimentation on 300 Mehndi fingerprints acquired using Secugen fingerprint scanner is conducted. The results positively support EEFM for its efficiency and reliability to handle distorted fingerprints matching
Childhood disintegrative disorder misdiagnosed as childhood-onset schizophrenia
Childhood disintegrative disorder (CDD) is a rare pervasive developmental disorder, which is often misdiagnosed as schizophrenia, probably due to the resultant severe social impairment and withdrawn behaviour with stereotypys that could be mistaken for psychosis. We report a case of CDD that was misdiagnosed by a psychiatrist as childhood-onset schizophrenia and treated with high doses of antipsychotics. The patient did not show any improvement. This highlights ethical issues that arise from treatment modalities, with polypharmacy being the biggest culprit, and also points to the need to continue medical education at the level of primary health services and among practising rural doctors where tertiary centres with child guidance facilities and a multidisciplinary team are not available
Water Level Monitoring and Dam Gate Control over IOT
The cradle of our project is based on methodology of IOT. Water level in a dam needs to be maintained effectively to avoid complications. The quantity of water released is hardly ever correct resulting in wastage of water & it is impossible for a man to precisely control the gates without knowledge of exact water level and water inflow rate. We have designed a system in which real time things are interconnected to web. Water level sensors are placed in dam to serve the same purpose automatically and forward the status to raspberry pi. Raspberry pi unit checks that input and upload the status of water level on web. By this project each and every variation of water level is informed to control room through the internet (using blynk application) and nearby people can be informed in time thus saving lots of lives and avoiding the unpleasant scenarios
Effect of core strengthening exercises as an adjunct to stretching exercises on pain and quality of life in females with primary dysmenorrhea: An experimental study
Introduction: Primary dysmenorrhea is a common gynecological problem in females, which affects their overall health and quality of life. The objective of the study was to find the effect of core strengthening and stretching exercises on pain and quality of life in females with Primary Dysmenorrhea. Method: Twenty-seven unmarried girls with primary dysmenorrhea, aged between 18 to 25 years were divided into two groups by using simple random sampling i,e Group A (n=14) and Group B (n=13). Group A received core strengthening and stretching exercises and group B received stretching exercises alone, three times a week for 4 weeks. Outcomes measures included in the study were the Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) and HRQOL SF 36 which was collected at baseline and at week 4 after treatment and follow-ups were taken after 8 weeks. Result: The result showed that all outcome measures improved significantly (p<0.05) in both groups. Significantly more improvement was seen in patients with primary dysmenorrhea who received combined strengthening and stretching exercises. Conclusion: Both the stretching and strengthening exercises are effective in lowering pain and improving the quality of life in females with primary dysmenorrhea but the combination of the two is more effective than stretching exercises alone
A Clinical Study to Evaluate Efficacy of Agnikarma (Locally) and Ashwagandha Ghanavati (Internally ) in the Management of Manyagata Vata w.s.r Cervical Spondylosis
Cervical Spondylosis is described as degenerative condition of the cervical spine. It is found most commonly in individuals aged 40-60 years, leads to symptoms like pain, restricted movement stiffness and tingling-numbness at neck region. In Ayurveda, it can be correlated with Manyagata Vata which is managed with various Panchkarma such as Basti, Raktamokshan ,Nasya, Agnikarma etc. Adjuvant to Vata-Kaphashamak and Asthi Dhatuvardhan palliative drugs. The Agnikarma though effective tool for pain management has varied results due to fluctuation in temperature from intermittent heating of shalaka (metallic probe). To overcome this, conventional Agnikarma device is modified with temperature controlling unit (produces constant temperature) and Raupya Shalaka (specially designed silver probe having micro rods)which helped in minimizing the pain as heat is delivered once at desire site. Adjuvantly, Ashwagandha Ghanavati (internally) was given, which acts as Rasayan to Asthi Dhatu (rejuvenating bone tissue). The combination treatment showed statistically significant results in relieving symptoms such as pain, stiffness, flexion, extension, lateral movement of neck and tingling numbness. Out of 50 patients, 92% patients got complete relief from cervical pain, 98 % patients got relieved from Stiffness whereas restricted movements of neck and tingling numbness present was relieved in 96% patients. The device helps in keeping the temperature constant (60o C) throughout the procedure & desired heat is delivered by keeping the probe in contact for 10seconds at affected site. In this study,Agnikarma with modified device and AshwagandhaGhanavatirevealed their efficacy in relieving symptoms of Manyagatavata. Further, the Agnikarm with modified deviceproved user friendly, safe (without iatrogenic effects) and made procedure swift.

Electronic Health Record: Blockchain Technology
Electronic health record (EHR) is a systematiccollection of compact real-time patient-centric informationwhich includes all types of treatments the patient hasundergone along with the lab results, medical prescriptionsetc.EHR allow faster sharing of records and informationretrieval.EHR is about helping the medical practitionersprovide quality treatment to their patients while alsomaintaining the safety and efficiency of their records. But, oneof the exasperating problem that the health care systems faceis the ability to share medical records with more than onestakeholders, while maintaining complete security andensuring data integrity. Storage and sharing of medical recordssecurely have been one of the important aspects of theEHR.Medical data consists of sensitive information that thepatient expects to be kept confidential. At present, the biggestissue of health care systems is the central administration ofdata. Regardless of various advancements in the healthcareindustry, the EHRs have still been suffering from various databreaches. Storing patients sensitive health records on theBlockchain based storage can help in rectifying theseshortcomings. The Blockchain technology is decentralized anda unique approach of storing data on a distributed networkwithout any central authority. The blockchain has the ability totransform the healthcare industry, by placing the patient at thecenter of the ecosystem and increasing quality, security, interoperability of health records. Blockchain offers a set oftools for solving many issues related to patients consent fordata sharing.Recent findings indicate that the blockchainresearch has been increasing in the healthcare industry and ismainly used for managing health records and access control
