Rare rheumatic disorders. Czech dysplasia (pseudorheumatoid arthritis)

Czech dysplasia also known as pseudorheumatoid arthritis dysplasia or progressive dysplasia with shortening of the toes is a rare autosomal-dominant disorder. The disease is caused by a mutation that altered the composition of the a-polypeptide chain of type II procollagen (arg75-cys). It results in arthritis, especially in the lower limbs, developing in childhood or adolescence, accompanied by rapidly progressing, early-onset osteoarthritis. Significant shortening of the third and fourth toes of both feet is a typical phenotypic hallmark of the disease. It is resulted from metatarsal bone dysplasia. The disease can lead to significant damage to the musculoskeletal system

Humor i śmiech jako metody terapeutyczne

Humor i śmiech od dawna są uważane za czynniki sprzyjające zdrowiu. Dopiero jednak w drugiej połowie XX wieku rozpoczęto badania fizjologicznych skutków humoru i śmiechu oraz możliwości ich zastosowania w lecznictwie. Opisano wiele korzystnych efektów humoru i śmiechu, w tym rozszerzenie naczyń, zmiany tętna i ciśnienia tętniczego krwi, a także zmiany immunologiczne, takie jak zmniejszenie stężenia w surowicy interleukiny-6 u chorych na reumatoidalne zapalenie stawów. Są to jednak tylko krótkotrwałe skutki. Nie zmienia to faktu, że poprawa nastroju, tak zwany dobry humor i śmiech, są pożądane, jako działania pomocnicze w procesie leczenia wielu chorób. Erectile dysfunctions in patients with systemic sclerosis

Erectile dysfunctions are a common feature in patients with systemic sclerosis. They are resulted from a complex pathomechanism. The main role is attributed to vascular alterations and fibrosis of the carvernous bodies. Depression and disturbed autonomy nervous system function may be additional factors for development of erectile dysfunctions. Diagnosis is based on subjective patient’s data and functional tests. Treatment of erectile dysfunctions in scleroderma patients is difficult, multifactorial and sometimes ineffective. Forum Reumatol. 2019, tom 5, nr 3: 118–12
